PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for June: God of War, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Available starting Tuesday, June 7.

The rollout of the all-new PlayStation Plus is well underway, with Asia’s launch last week and Japan launching starting today! Additional markets will launch this month, and we can’t wait for fans to enjoy the new service.

Today, we are pleased to share the monthly games that will be included in June for PlayStation Plus. From June 7 to July 4, PlayStation Plus members can add God of War (2018), Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl to their game library. When the all-new PlayStation Plus launches in your region, these titles will be available as monthly games to all PlayStation Plus members including those on the PlayStation Plus Essential plan (which includes the same benefits PlayStation Plus members get today).

Let’s take a closer look at the titles.

God of War | PS4

Living as a man outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar lands, unexpected threats, and a second chance at being a father. Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the brutal Norse wilds and fight to fulfill a deeply personal quest. This staggering reimagining of God of War combines all the hallmarks of the iconic series – epic boss fights, fluid combat, and breathtaking scale – and fuses them with a powerful and moving narrative that re-establishes Kratos’ world. 

Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker | PS4

The Naruto franchise goes 4 vs. 4, featuring team-based gameplay with 8 ninjas fighting simultaneously. Players cooperate as a team of four to compete against other teams online. Graphically, Shinobi Striker is also built from the ground up in a completely new graphic style. Lead your team and fight online to see who the best ninjas are.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl | PS4/PS5

Brawl it out as your favorite Nickelodeon characters in bombastic platform battles. With a power-packed cast of heroes from the Nickelodeon universe, face-off with all-stars from SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Loud House, Danny Phantom, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, and more to determine ultimate animation dominance. With unique move sets and attacks inspired by their personalities, each character has an individual style of play enabling endless action for Nickelodeon’s legion of fans.

    I think this are the weakest games in a while. God of war is a good game but almost everyone has played it. The other 2 games are weak.

    It’s a good thing the PS Plus Collection for PS5 justified the yearly cost because this is definitely short changing PS5 users by offering only two “new” games. Fortunately for me I bought a yearly PS sub for this year with Xbox rewards, so it cost me nothing. Ironic lol.

    PS Plus has never been a great value and far behind what Xbox was offerign for the same price, so I’m glad it’s being killed off. The new tiers offer at least worthwhile content.

    Jeez, I get being mad about the ps plus games recently, but they have been working on the new version of the service and for new playstation users, this isn’t a bad month. God Of War may be old, but (what a surprise,) there are people who haven’t played the game.

      People aren’t angry that its old or because they have already played it. They are angry because the game is ALREADY permanently on the service.

      Anyone can already access this game for free with the PS plus collection. So the main game of this month is already free on the service. It’s not an addition and that is why people are (rightfully) angry.

      Yeah, I haven’t played this game because I don’t want to. I keep seeing the “there’s one good game in the list and people exist who haven’t played it and therefore this is a good month” argument. But my counter argument is this. Anyone who’s avoided playing it for four years isn’t highly likely to want to play it now. It’s routinely on sale for 20$. If I wanted to play it I already would have. Not gonna play it now that it’s free. Definitely not going to play the two fighting games. If you want a good service that appeals to a wide audience you can’t release three types of fighting games in a month and call that a wide net. If you’re doing three games they should each be different genres, that way maybe I’d enjoy more than two ps plus games a year.

      Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the ps plus collection only available to PS5 owners? You can see in the announcement graphic that God of War only has the PS4 logo on it. Could it then be surmised that this is the first time PS4 only owners can now get the game for free.

    Oh Sony… Why are you re-gifting a game to me? God of War was wonderful when I purchased it. It was still great when you put it in the PlayStation Plus Collection. But this latest attempt to give it away again is disappointing. It looks like a cheap tactic from a lazy company looking to pinch pennies at the expense of loyal fans. Man do I miss Shawn Layden running things…

    Not Sony’s strongest month but also, this is not too bad a month. Why? With Sony rolling out their new tiers, I was afraid that PS Plus (lowest tier) would only provide 2 games, which would’ve disrupted what we’re currently receiving. Sony, please do not change the offerings.

    God of War (2018) is a great game that’ll allow all to try, although I have a PS5 and it’s in the collection but everyone should get a chance to try GOW.

    2nd, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is an older title but worth trying out, as I don’t own it. It’s a welcome addition to my collection.

    And I also don’t own Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl for the PS5 so it’s worth a look.

    Overall, definitely not the best month but a few titles worth checking out that I’d otherwise not have an opportunity to do.

      At 20$ when it’s on sale if I had any interest in god of war I’d have played it already. I’d really appreciate it if people stopped acting like everyone needs to play games that they personally liked. No one new wants to play this if they haven’t already. It was hyped up and spread around and anyone interested has already had a chance to play it. The rest of us weren’t interested then and aren’t now. Sorry. Offer something new.

      There’s a very real chance that it still might revert to 2 games. Wait until the higher tiers are rolled out worldwide. Not to mention the risk that essential PS+ will drop in quality, which will only become apparent even later. In any case, I’m already preparing to go without online or only get it periodically on Playstation…

    Literally almost like 70% ps4 console has played GoW, and for Sony to make this free is a rip off.

    I am so glad I will not be renewing my ps+ because this is just ridiculous! Sony and their greed!

      Based on numbers at least 90% of PS users haven’t, even though it’s constantly on sale for barely any money.

      But then again probably the other 90% of PS users don’t care about it at all.

      I know I’d rather have basically anything else, but I like games, and fun gameplay, not dull people talking about sad things slowly.

    I actually thought this month was pretty good. Sucks that GOW is on here though because it’s been on PS Now, it’s on Extra, and it’s on the PS Plus Collection. Honestly pretty happy about the other two though.

    Congrats to the five users who haven’t played GoW yet. It’s a really great game. You will love it. Alas, it’s a goodbye from me. PS+ subscriber since 2011 but it’s not been delivering for me for a while. I’ve lost interest in getting a PS5 and most months I’m playing old games on PS4 or new games on PC. I just don’t need the subscription any more. So au revoir, and thanks for all the fish.

      Those of us who haven’t played it chose not to. No game is for everyone dude. It’s available everywhere either for 20$ or for free. Do the math. That adds up to them trying to force a game I don’t want to play down my throat. No thanks. Not impressed.

    I’m a little disappointed with two of the 3. I mean I understand God of war (its a amazing game and hype up the next God of war.. but the other two? I wish they would have selected the evil dead game , or maybe forspoken? Maybe Terminator: Resistance? I don’t know maybe something that had a little bit of meat to the bones… This month and last month seems like throw ways in terms of games you get to play… I just know the majority of ps fans don’t want sports or racing games unless its grand turismo 7

    Solid list. Good variety for everyone. I have been looking at Shinobi Strikers since PlayStation posted it’s coming with Junes games. 100% grabbing that. Seeing God Of War up there makes me wanna play through the game again to get ready for the sequel. I approve

    Wow – what a disastrous month. Im tired of the PS+ community being used to populate old & tired multiplayer games….but here we are again.

    Then you have God of War. A game that is already owned by a huge percentage of Playstations best customers….b/c they already gave it to us. Why on Earth would you punish the people who spent the most money with your brand? Its beyond disappointing…..and how you kill fan loyalty.

    I have never been treated so badly by Playstation, as in the last few years. Ive been a hardcore fan since PS1 and ive never seen so much apathy towards customers.

    Even games like MLB The Show have declined to unacceptable levels of carelessness, and nasty treatment of players. San Diego Studios, once a shining star of Sony’s first party developers, just releases the same game every year, and when called on continued crashing & game breaking bugs, ignores the community or mutters at them under their breath.

    Its everywhere.

    Lucky for Playstation. XBox is even worse…..and they cant even make a competent game. Relying on your competition to be terrible doesnt seem like a profound strategy, though.

    Some big things need to change or video games will become a niche hobby again….only without the passionate fans. Look around….fanbases are tired of being taken for granted…

      Video games ARE a niche hobby.

      Statistically most adults don’t play any games, and even fewer play console games. Big games sell like 5-10 million? Big films have 100s of millions of tickets. The next 100 people that walk by you on the street will have maybe 5 people that play any form of game, but probably 20+ that have seen the latest show.

      The biggest selling console of all time came out in March of 2000. The biggest money making games came out in the 80s.

      But console makers keep squeezing and squeezing their shrinking fanbases. The games are clearly too expensive for most people. No new players are really replacing those that are leaving. They’re basically sealing their own fate with greed and stubbornness.

      Hey. Their brilliant marketing strategy for ps5 was “what if it’s basically a ps4 pro pro? ” Don’t expect marketing genius. I’m still waiting for them to give me a reason to care that ps5 exists. So far I think they might have four or five exclusives? And at least some of them are free to play trash. Not impressed.

    Hi, I have paid for fifa and shinobi and now the fifa was free and the servers are full of lags now and the shinobi now is free I need an answer for that please, why im paying for this games if they are free now ?!?!?     It’s like Sony see the negative comments when they give us something that many of us already have from the PS+ collection and think “we should give it another month or two before we give them the next one” drip feeding us until the entire PS+ collection has been “given away” either pre PS5 launch or post. Nothing for me this month – GOW already played and finished (before I got it as part of the PS+ collection… ) and, if I wanted a kiddies brawler, I’d be playing Smash Bros on the Switch. Ho hum, hope they give something that I’m interested in next month (along with a PS+collection title that I’ve had for 18 months)

Every month feels like Sony is rubbing salt in the wound “Look at this idiot buying PS+ yearly for the monthly games, what an idiot”. All I can say is I certainly won’t be renewing this dreadful service. It is nothing more than a joke. The main game for this month IS ALREADY A PART OF THE PS PLUS COLLECTION. Can you imagine the sheer nerve of a company lying to you by saying that you would be provided with new monthly games only to provide a game that is already permanently available on their dismal? You want me to upgrade with your new service even though game streaming for some reason is not supported in Australia??

    Sony is the new EA, nothing but greed and disrespect for their customers.

    The problem with PS+ thesedays is the amount of time it takes for AAA games to reach it and the reduced focus on single player titles. Ten years ago the AAA games came thick and fast and usually 1-2 years after release.

    Example, June 2012:

    Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine (released 9 months earlier)
    Darksiders (released just over 2 years earlier)
    inFamous II (released 11 months earlier)
    LittleBigPlanet 2 (released 17 months earlier)
    MotorStorm: Apocalypse (released 15 months earlier)

    Roll forward to June 2022:

    God of War (released over four years earlier)

    There are exceptions like FIFA 22 but they are rare and are usually more geared towards multiplayer.

    I’ve pointed out that I’m letting my 11+ year old PS+ subscription lapse, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s a failing service or anything. It’s just not for me anymore. The classic (old PS+) has been failing me for some time partly for the reason given above. As for the new tiers, they are overkill for me because I have a job and interests other than gaming. There’s no point paying a subscription for dozens or hundreds of instantly available games when I can only find time to play once or twice a week and some of that time is inevitably spent gaming on PC.

      Agree completely. Except I game most nights, for an hour or so – mostly the indies I’ve bought. Used to be good indies on Plus, including recent releases, but it’s been years since that happened. Plus has lost its appeal for me, too.

    Most have gods of war games in there collection.
    Then two other games that are mined knumbing boring .
    The last SpongeBob game I downloaded from my grandchildren they we’re not even interested they said it was boring.

    Going to skip this month again. I’ve gone from never missing a month to only two times this year. I now only pick up plus only when I feel the game selection is personally worth paying for. I feel that this selection doesn’t hit that mark again this month. As an adult I have no interest in nickelodeon games or Naruto based games. God of war was a great game but many of the players have played it already. I hope all those who enjoy these games have a great month playing them. I would have liked to see something that would have draw more players like myself back. At this point I don’t have a reason to play online anymore.

    I don’t usually comment on ps+ games but every month over the years sony has been giving rubbish from game demos like challenger edition to dead multiplayer games. giving games that are already free is the new low. such a pain in the a*s. This month is absolute garbage. What’s next sony? every month you will give all the games that are already a part of ps+ collection so ppl can upgrade to whatever BS you are trying to upsell?

    Yet another Plus month with minimal variety. Three fighting games, including one (G.O.W.) which has been offered previously? Really??
    Did Sony’s vice president ,in charge of PlayStation Plus games, retire and/or succumb to the Peter Principle? Month after month, fighting/ combat/ boring.
    At least interesting indies, storied, puzzles, cranium engagement, are often on sale. Have been picking those up, and enjoying them.
    Sony hasn’t offered any quality non-combat/fighting/multi-player in nearly a year. Consequently, won’t renew Plus membership, at any level, when it comes up.
