Will there be trophies for the PSX & PS2 games? If not, I’ll stick with the essential tier and maybe add the extra tier down the road.

  • sidelong_surfer3

This is perfection. Pure perfection. Thank you Sony for listening and god bless you. I am really happy with how this goes and can’t wait for the launch.

  • Are the games on the list being updated on PS5 BC? Ape Escape 2 is seriously unplayable. Dead Nation has a bug where the game crashes after 1 mission in co-op that doesn’t exist playing on PS4.

  • congratulations sony & playstation ps plus massive improvement & like to see certain things from top of the line sony tv drop on ps5 like auto hdr & tone mapping & a big one if ps5 could do it a game optimiser which tell you wot game running at the fps & vrr info since sony tv don’t support game optimiser & another thing new ps5 boot screen could be added or updated like load up that sweet playstation sound & playstation studios & like a ps5 symbol

  • Already own most of the games (even a lot of the classics, either original or collection or PSN) and the few others I don’t care about. Good thing I won’t be persuaded to spend more on this. In general I think combining these services feels like a desperate reply to Gamepass and also just lazy, like simply combining PS+ with online before, or using the blue PS4 boxes for PS5 games (could’ve at least gone with white if you didn’t want to change them altogether, before this every gen had a different box).
I’m sure it’ll be great value to a lot of people, but if you generally buy the games you love I don’t see the point. Wish I didn’t even have to go with Essential for online…

  • Meh.

    Regard,
    John Earwig

  • Meh.

    Regard,
    John Earwig

  • Thank you but you forgot some first party games:
    The Order 1886
    GTSport
    Knack 2

    Please add them

Unfortunately PSPlus has no Love for JRPGs. Some Older JRPG titles wouldn’t be bad like Tales of Vesperia Remaster/Berseria , DQ11 or KH3…

  • Not even going to lie.. this is pretty disappointing. :(

  • Nice selection of games. game trials are a welcome addition. I wish HouseMarque would update all their games for PS5. Alien Nation would look great in 4k running at 60-120 FPS.

  • I know that the article said this list isn’t complete, but they likely put the heaviest hitters up first to show the value of the service.

As it stands now if Syphon Filter and Jumping Flash is the brightest of the bunch we have some real issues. I don’t think it is an exaggeration to say people were most excited for the classic games, and if that list is indicative at all of the quality, it is sad indeed.

It really is a bummer, because a Vita is really hard to find here, and they want $300 plus for them, and I’d like to play PS Classics I bought–specifically Suikoden 2 and Legend of Dragoon–games that are too expensive to grab on native hardware.

Oh well. It doesn’t seem there will be much here on offer to entice me to higher tiers. They did more than I expected with PS5 and PS4 after that initial announcement, but I own most of those games or they were already available in some capacity through Plus, Collection, or Now (which not to forget a large part of the games people are touting are coming from Now).

Considering those tiers are for the PlayStation super fans, and most everything has already been on offer before or have already been purchased, I’m not sure how they get people in the door.

    • most very true, it seems the small list of Syphon Filter and Tekken 2 are the highlight of this “ps now” reveal..

  • If their is no trophy support for the classic games, I could care less and will be sticking with my basic/Essential membership.

  • Feel digital ps5 owners just got screwed more.

  • I’m underwhelmed, but perhaps not for the reasons I’ve seen posted here.

Most of the games in that first list are games I own already from being a long-time Plus subscriber or, in a few cases, from picking up something on a ridiculous sale. Cross-reference that list with past Plus titles, and you’ll find an overwhelming amount of overlap. So, no need to pay extra for THOSE games, I have them already.

Now, if you haven’t been on Plus, or you were on-again, off-again, you may not have them all (I missed WipeOut Omega that way), but if you’ve been on Plus you have MOST of these already. No, not the four games in the headline – but pretty much all the rest.

I’m not seeing a huge reason to sign up for a tier above Essential, yet. We’ll see. If they let me bump up to Extra AND back down to Essential, I might do some of that as things come and go from the service – but if I have to convert my year+ balance all at once and can’t go back, I may pass.

  • This is a good start. It would be awesome if you added trophies to the classic games.

  • 🍾😍😍😍😍😍😍sony ,I LOVE YOU!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍Wow!!! I can’t wait to subscribe to premium😎😎😎😎wow wow wow🍾✌️🤝🎮

  • Looks awesome, but please add all Wipeout, Motorstorm, Resident Evil and Metal Gear games.

  • Looks good, if this is just the teaser then I really wonder what else they have in store for classic games, etc.

  • Peaceful_Skyredd

Dude……i…..can we see a full list of all titles???? This is getting ridicolous.

    • yeah its getting really dumb at this point, basically listed all current PS Now games to us like we´re idiots

  • Looking really promising. Its crazy how many people can’t understand that this is only 20% of the entire lineup that will be available DAY ONE………….. which is not simply it for the service lol. There are going to be content updates every month, with the Classic games list getting an update halfway through each month.

I can’t believe we are finally getting closer to that promise from the PS4 reveal on February 20th 2013 that someday you hope to have all PlayStation games available on your new steaming service (although that was referring to streaming only). I doubt it will ever get to that but this sure is better than the NOTHING PlayStation Now provided for me the past 8 years of its life since 2014.

  • Really underwhelming announcement. The games they’ve revealed for PS5 and 4 are really great and I’m looking forward to finally checking out Demon’s Souls and Returnal but the back catalog is very disappointing. I understand that this is only a preview, but you’d think they’d reveal at least ONE big title like Metal Gear Solid just to give people an indication of what’s to come if they really were going to be including games of that quality tier. If they actually are and they just chose not to, dumb move. Seems like I’ll get Premium for free for a little while because of the subscription lapse but I’m definitely downgrading to the less expensive tier once my subscription ends if they don’t step it up.

  • I’m not even as excited anymore… lol why can’t Sony ask us die hard fans what games we would like to see or want.. what I want to see is classic games like NFSUG2, Def Jam Fight For NY, Scarface, The Godfather.

    • See, that’s what I’m talking about!! I know there is a HUGE group of other millennials I grew up with that wants this. Maybe throw in some 50 cent bullet proof. I know they are saying only a “selection” is listed but with all the greats on PS2, this doesn’t look promising at all!!
I told everyone I had a bad feeling it was just a re-skin of PS Now to try to make a buck off it since it’s done so terrible. If you ain’t putting in first party titles you have to at least put in more effort than that to compete a little with game pass.

    • Oh shii Godfather and Scarface were so good

    • I have a feeling we’re not going to see a lot of titles like that as part of the subscription due to licensing issues and the higher overhead of a digital release. However, something hidden in the announcement is that they seem to be planning to make more legacy titles available to purchase, so I expect a bunch of these to pop up, since reworking the licenses is worth it if they can do actual sales.

  • Hopefully Resident Evil 1-3 PS1 and Silent Hill will be on there. I own those as well a many other PS1 classics.

  • Is there anything new from the list of PS1 & 2 titles? I feel like that all the same stuff from PS Now… I was expecting to see a LOT more new stuff from the way they were making it sound.

  • No Destiny 2 DLC??? What the heck? Why buy Bungie…

  • Will the multiplayer trophies for the old systems be updated?

  • I’m wish to know what PS2 RPG games will be available.
This list of SOME of the games is quite long but there are only 5 or 6 of interest to me. Not impressed.

  • I know one thing, come release time if some of the Greats I grew up with on PS2 isn’t available you can forget about it!.. I’m talking either of the True Crimes, any of the Def Jams, maybe some Fight Night, at least some old school NFS. You gotta give me something to work with. This has been built up and we have been anticipating it for so long! Plz don’t do a re-skin of PS Now. I know you have (some) goodies on PS4/PS5 but come on!!

  • Crash Bash, when ?

  • Epic fail!!!!!!!!!! You people had one job and couldn’t even do that right. We want enhanced backwards compatibility you know higher resolutions, higher fps, anti aliasing, high texture filtering. All these things are desperately needed by all playstation games you people should be embarrassed your competitors are doing this you people are so disconnected from the community that you don’t even know what they really want. # For the players my ass.

  • if they are gonna add loads of ps3 games make them downloadable not streamable you know you can do it sony so dont be lazy

  • ADD THESE GAMES TO NEW PS PLUS

    GEX 3D
    CROC LEGEND OF GOBOS
    ORIGINAL PS1 SPYRO GAMES
    ALL PS1 PS2 PS3 CRASH BANDICOOT GAMES

  • FOR ALL THE KARENS IN THE COMMENTS COMPLAINING – ALL PS1 PS2 PS3 PSP PS4 GAMES WILL BE REVEILED WHEN THE NEW PS PLUS IS OUT SONY IS ONLY SHOWING A FEW GAMES NOT ALL OF THEM REMEMBER THAT BEFORE COMMENTING IN FUTURE COMPLAINING KARENS

    • Well what ppl like you are posting seem to forget is, if this is some of their biggest titles being mentioned then what’s that say about the rest of the subscription?
Why wouldn’t they mention their biggest titles first?? It’s advertising and it lures ppl in to purchase. Clearly by some of the titles listed on PS4/PS5 sorta justify that!
If that’s the case then the worst is to come.
It wouldn’t be unusual of them to do so.

    • seems like youre the only karen, karen

  • I can finally go back and platinum demon’s souls on PS3.

Other than that I’m not sure how I feel about the whole thing. The PS5 games added to the service are grw6as not played a few of them like death stranding etc

    • Spellchecker is so bad. The ps5 additions are great
Most of the other seem ok. Pretty happy so far

    • If you didn’t get the pure bladestone trophy already..

      Good luck.

    • Who doesn’t enjoy 6-10 hours of grinding? Haha

I remember grinding the same 30 second map on disgaeae 2 DHD for hundreds of hours to get a strong enough team to beat Uber Prinny Baal

Or maybe I just won’t go for plat on second thoughts lol

  • This screams pure laziness at its finest! Also couldn’t even invest in a proper ps3 emulator heck even pc has ps3 emulation. Funny how all these hypocrites are not calling out sony for drm on ps3 games.

    • The PS3 emulation on PC needs a top of the line rig, does not work for all games, and is very flawed.

The cost of PS3 emulation is not worth the benefit, if it was, Sony would have implemented it.

  • ROFL. so sony double the price of psnow, call it ps premium, and offer the exact same pointless **** that has been on the service for years for over 2.5x the cost, when will money grubbers learn. you can’t change the name of something, change the price tag, offer the same crap as before and get more money. I won’t bother.

  • Plz Playstation add:

All Metal Gear (Konami & Hideo Kojima)
P.T demo (Konami & Hideo Kojima)
    Medal of honor (EA)

  • The fact that if you already own the classic games you can download them outside of plus is a big pr win. Thank you Sony.

The ps5 lineup is also very appealing. Looking forward to more! ❤️❤️❤️

  • Those Time-Limited Game Trials are very disappointing!

  • Before this i was actually excited for PS Plus Premium but now…

    1. Second tier is a waste of money

    2. Most of these games were on PS Now, and almost all of the classics.

    3. Basically all the new stuff (classic wise) is the Syphon Filter/Tekken list. Which paying premium for is a joke, although the only 2 games im interested in and actually are new additions. Feels like a hoax so far.

  • they didn’t even mention ps2 games, nor are the remasters for things like god of war collection, ratchet and clank collection, and sly collection (two of which were available on ps now already) present in any of the lists they provided us. disappointing, if we are not getting classic ps2 games. also disappointing how we are missing things like twisted metal, metal gear solid, and whatever else may come to mind, although i know they will update the catalog every month. i must say this is a disappointing first impression on my opinion, and will not be subscribing to any higher tier until they add some classic games that catch my interest. please give us classic playstation franchises such as god of war, sly, ratchet, and metal gear.

  • hoping the rumours are true sony playstation bin to quiet we need a showcase & hope this happen mgs & silent hill remake over remastered

  • Games that are needed are Shadow Hearts, Bloody Roar and Tenchu series, Seven Blades, Chaos Legion, Breath of Fire and Soul Calibur 3 too.

Just to name a few, more Ratchet games like Tools and the games before, Bugs Bunny and Taz lost in time games, Toy Story 2 and make those games with a bid of HD upgrade and you got yourself a premium subber forever. See no reason as of now

  • Most of these PS4/PS5 titles are already PS Plus or had a huge discount period. One could be most of us already have these games already so it’s not attractive at all.

Same thing occurs with classic library. Most of them are the default list from PsNow. There’s nothing new here. If that’s the initial list, it’s really a poor start and needs to get stronger asap with newer titles, specially PS1/PS2/PSP.

  • I would like to see these games available on PlayStation Now:
    Scarface ps2
Def jam fight for NY ps2
    Cat in the hat ps2
The Simpsons hit and run ps2
    50 cent bulletproof ps2
50 cent blood on the sand ps3
    The Simpsons game ps2

    • YESSS!!!.. You had to play True Crime also? I know a ridiculous amount of ppl are asking for that to come back as well as Def Jam.

  • Wow bunch of old games, what about actual new games? Where are the exclusives? I massively regret getting a ps5 I barely use it!

  • Let us play our entire digital playstation library on ps5 and ps4

  • PLEASE ADD MOTORSTORM PACIFIC RIFT! IT WAS CLEARLY THE BEST MOTORSTORM GAME!!!!

  • I was right all the time! Ps is the best, greatness awaits u sony God bless u forever!

New games can go to hell!!

  • Ohhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyy gooooooood . Is it real ? It’s not in dream? THANK YOU PLAYSTATION. You did knock out Xbox game pass . I going to buy premium one year . Can’t wait to play them . I don’t know which I first play , holy moly **** Ubisoft games are here toooooooooo
