Since launching PlayStation Plus in 2010, SIE has been at the forefront of innovation with game subscription services. The new Extra and Premium tiers represent a major evolution for PlayStation Plus. With these tiers, our key focus is to ensure that the hundreds of games we offer will include the best quality content that sets us apart. At launch, we plan to include titles such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal. We’re working closely with our imaginative developers from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners to include some of the best gaming experiences available with a library that will be regularly refreshed. More details to come on the games we’ll have on our new PlayStation Plus service.
When the new PlayStation Plus service launches, PlayStation Now will transition into the new PlayStation Plus offering and will no longer be available as a standalone service. PlayStation Now customers will migrate over to PlayStation Plus Premium with no increase to their current subscription fees at launch.
As this is a massive launch effort, we’re rolling out the new PlayStation Plus offering in a phased regional approach. In the June timeframe, we’ll begin with an initial launch in several markets in Asia, followed by North America, Europe and the rest of the world where PlayStation Plus is offered. We aim to have most PlayStation Network territories live with our new PlayStation Plus game subscription service by the end of the first half of 2022. We also plan to expand our cloud streaming benefit to additional markets, and will provide more details at a later date.
Building upon more than 25 years of expertise in gaming innovation, this change to our subscription services highlights our continued efforts to evolve our network services business to match our customer’s preferences. With the all-new PlayStation Plus, we’re focused on delivering a compelling game subscription service with curated content from our exclusive PlayStation Studios team and our third-party partners. The newly enhanced PlayStation Plus will enable our fans to discover and engage with more content than ever before, and deepen their connection with the PlayStation community through shared experiences.
We’re providing an early look at our new PlayStation Plus subscription service today, and we’ll plan to share more information with you as we get closer to launch. Stay tuned.

Bs money grab took my ps3 games away then make me pay for this bs to maybe get them back, what about the people who already has ps+ for a year do we get upgraded for free?
What a trash service. For existing PS+ members everything stays the same. Except we only get 2 games going forward instead of 3. And i bet the quality of those games will even get worse than it is now (hard to imagine). Just look at the Xbox Gold games lineup.
At least Xbox has an amazing service with gamepass.
Arent half of those games they metioned already part of past PS+ offerings ps+ collection or PSnow.
And on top of that backwards compatibility is behind a paywall.
Once again amazing to see that we have old arrogant Sony back. I guess some things will never change.
So happy that i finnaly made the switch to PC. Cause honestly f*** console hardware makers. All of them!
No comment, but these are really neat benefits.
So… Playstation has been working harder at developing a new tier upgrade system, while neglecting other issues with this roll out. However, PS5 is still barely attainable without going through scalpers.
How about we fix the main issue, getting the PS5 out to waiting consumer’s. (I have mine after several wait lists) still many are waiting for the PS5 before upgrading anything else.
And good questions in this thread for those who have both paid services PS Now / Playstation Plus … how will that translate to transfer of services? Refunds? Credits? I don’t think that has been addressed clear enough.
In the premium service, will there be servers that can handle the online streaming gameplay for those who are “streamers”? No lag, glitches, buffering etc??? Sure hope it’s a service worth investing, otherwise it’s just another way to get our dollars for nothing.
Cheers!
I’m sorry, I really did expect more. I’m excited about the library additions and the subsidized costs for people who currently have PSNow+PSPlus and pay annually, but WHO thought it was a good idea to announce this and NOT have a mobile app for streaming ready to go? The ONLY reason I subscribed to Xbox Game Pass a year ago was because I could play the games on offer without owning an Xbox, or in some cases, play a Series X game on an Xbox One or web browser through streaming. The versatility that mobile streaming brings is really where Game Pass’ edge is here. Remote Play exists but it’s extremely flawed (no support for other controller types, capping at 720p for older consoles, no PSNow streaming through remote play, etc). And by the way, if your explanation is that you can’t release an iPhone app because of App Store rules, my answer is forget them. Xbox has a web client for those customers, you should too. I’m proud of what you’ve managed to do but I know you can do better.
The Xbots have invaded I see.
Anyways I want to know if you can buy PSP/ PS1 games separate from PSplus premium and will trophies be added to them?
Nobody has “invaded” people can talk bad about Sony, it’s fine too
