Our heroes will travel across a variety of planets in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart – a few you might remember, while others are entirely new. Thanks to the PlayStation 5 console’s ultra-fast SSD, you can traverse a variety of planets and their interdimensional counterparts near-instantly. These near-instant load times defy expectations by introducing dimensional variants of beloved classics that contain new twists and stories to tell. Speaking of twists, Zurkon Jr. has some stuff on his mind that he’s eager to share with you.

Strap in for a grand tour of some of the beautiful, alluring, and totally not deadly planets you’ll explore on your journey. Check out the electrifying off-the-wall nightlife of Nefarious City, or take a riveting Speetle ride through the exotic and acidic swamps of Outpost L51 on Sargasso – or perhaps the treacherous, off-the-rails excitement of Molonoth Gulch is more your speed? Whatever your needs, you might just find it here today at Zurkon Jr.’s Almost Launch Party!

Weapons & Traversal

Get primed for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart with a story overview

True to the Zurkon name, Jr. is leading off our celebratory blowout with a literal bang by discussing his favorite topic: weapons and traversal! As you’ve come to expect from the franchise, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart features our signature roster of powerful weapons, including classics like the cutting-edge Buzz Blades, to new destructive tools such as the Blackhole Storm and Negatron Collider. We’re also amping up immersion by using the unique features of the DualSense wireless controller: pull the adaptive triggers all or halfway for specific weapons to unleash alternating shots of devastation, feel the force behind every blast through the controller’s haptic feedback, and hear the clicks and ticks of your weapons via the built-in speakers.

Rivet shows off the Phantom Dash in all its stylish glory

In addition to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s staggering arsenal of weapons, we’ve also given Ratchet — and by extension Rivet, some new moves to use in and out of combat. Use the Rift Tether to transport yourself across battlefields, or activate the Phantom Dash to safely dodge and phase through incoming enemy attacks. But rather than me telling you what’s to come, I’ll let Jr. show you in our weapons-focused episode of Zurkon Jr.’s Almost Launch Party.

Every bit of footage is phenomenal.

The game’s looks fantastic. Back to back killers with this and the masterpiece they call Returnal. Sony really delivering the next gen exclusives just as they claimed.

And yes, the game is more impressive every time we see it. After how impressive the DualSense implementation was on Returnal, I’m even more excited to see what they do in-house on R&C.

Day one buy. Insomniac continues to why show why they are one of the best in the industry and easily this generation’s MVP thus far. Two native PS5 releases already, does any Xbox Studio have one?

  • CAN’T WAIT!

  • I think I heard that voice somewhere before i can’t wait to play ratchet and clank rift apart

  • I noticed it said console exclusive. PC release incoming? Please 🙏

    • R&C have always been PS exclusive, as they are owned by Sony.

    • Now on every single article or announcement related to a Sony game there is port begging.

      Thanks a lot Sony execs.

And yes, this is another game going to PC.

    • Diego how much misinformation do you want to spread?

This is a PS5 exclusive! Ratchet and Clank has always been Sony’s IP. And there is definitely many reasons to buy a PS5, the fact that you can get 4K 60FPS for $499 USD is a bargain compared to what you’d have to spend for an equivalent PC

    • They confirmed that this won’t go to pc

    • earth_inheritor

Oh and that would also me Destroy All Humans as the same voice actor does the voice of Orthopox too, the guy in the mothership

  • It’s says “Console Exclusive” at the end of that trailer… So will come to PC too.
Jesus… you guys REALLY hates PS5.

    • Buying a PS5 is a huge mistake, soon will be an irrelevant platform without exclusives just like Xbox.

If you want to play all the games, just buy a PC and Switch.

    • Yes buy a PS5 it is the best investment u can do.

    • @pr1ncedarkn3s it won’t be when they port all of their exclusives onto PC

    • @Diegoctba911 dont need a switch either then since u can already play everything from the switch on pc via an emulator

    • @Diegoctba911 Why the heck would you need a Switch when literally every Nintendo console, including Switch, can be emulated???

You are trying to get some serious trolling across there but then leave yourself open for a silly obvious boo boo like that.

But good luck playing every PlayStation game ever made natively on PC because, what, literally 2 games have come over so far, with no other games even announced.
Yeah, keep on pretending you can play all PS4 and PS5 games on PC…… or keep believing will be able to in month’s time the way you are prattling on.

I’ll be playing the new Ratchet then, I’ll keep you posted when you have a PC good enough to run it lol.

    • All the people saying buy a PC instead..you cannot buy or build a PC that will match this speck for even close to the price of a console, you cant really compare them.

    • No, I won’t play these games on a PC. Simple fact for me. I want to play my games on a couch, not in front of my desk.

So, no, even if these games come to PC, I will not get rid of my console.

    • @andrewsqual: Only two games? You are really slow. There are tons of games made by PlayStation on PC right now and more are coming soon. Thanks to this new direction, PS5 will not have any exclusives, therefore no appeal to buy a device.

About the Switch, don’t care, do whatever you want, it doesn’t change the fact that PC is getting all the games.

Remember when people got all excited about Demon’s Souls having a similar typo?

I think the PlayStation 5 was an amazing purchase and I’m extremely happy with it. Returnal is one of the best games I have ever played and it’s only possible on PlayStation 5. You can speculate and read propaganda but I focus on reality. And the reality is, Sony has absolutely delivered with the PS5 and I doubt many people are regretting their purchase.

It’s a shame that people are spoiling the celebration that should be Rift Apart. The game looks fantastic and Insomniac continues to deliver. But it’s always something. Even when Sony wins they can’t enjoy it. Returnal proved so many people wrong and turned out to be a masterpiece. Now Ratchet & Clank looks phenomenal and releases in 3 weeks. Let’s appreciate this new generation and the exclusive games we are getting. Other next-gen consoles don’t even have the luxury of arguing about such arbitrary and hypothetical nonsense because they have no Next Gen exclusives. Let’s just appreciate the fact that we are getting great next-gen exclusives. Ffs.

How and why is the game potentially being on PC affect your enjoyment at all? People need to grow up…geez! Do you derive pleasure from knowing most people will not play a game you enjoy?

  • Buying a PC for gaming is a waste of money. And I prefer to play my shooters without the hackers!

    • Totally agree about the PC hackers, MANdango-dano. That is the only negative with cross-play. I guess cross-play helps to dilute the PC hackers. They’ve always been a struggle to eliminate on PC; especially on EA & Activision games.

I can’t agree about PC being a waste, though. I’ve been building my PCs since AGP graphics cards. Mouse and keyboard is more accurate, (unless your chronic on controller) and more buttons. You can use ’em to “modify” your legacy video game consoles, and it’s a more open platform with its own “exclusive” games.
It’s just much more expensive. PS5 is an incredible value for the tech it includes.

  • Now on topic. This game looks awesome! Day 1

  • WooW sony gonna ported to PC already
Ps5 didn’t even complete his first year 😂

    I wonder what happened to
“This game could only be made with ps5 ssd” ??
    Jim lying strike again

This man is disaster he need to get fired
    #FireJimRyan

    • The game is literally not coming to PC educate yourself

    • stfu

    • Ok..it wont be ported to PC.
The PS5 is already outselling the Xbox and you cant even find an PS5 right now.
The game CAN only be done with the PS5 SDD, thats why it isnt on PS4 or any other system.

So i have no idea what the heck you are talking about

  • Could just be me, but didn’t they say that the game was going to have an “all new arsenal” when it was revealed? For God sake, as much as I adore the Future weapons, can we just let them be put to rest already?? I miss when weapons really were “all new”

  • So it would seem like this is a timed exclusive. Sony, if you’re planning on having all of your exclusives has timed exclusives then just say it, so that I won’t be needing to buy your console. And i’m pretty sure once this hits a PC release, that a majority of pc players can’t play this since it takes advantage of the SSD. Will you bend the knee for them too? Doesn’t this contradicts you saying that it can only be played on ps5 due to the ultra fast SSD? A majority of PC players don’t even have that. How about you stock up more PS5’s so these games can sell to it’s true value, instead of being lazy of doing pc ports to gain an extra buck?

    • Seriously, don’t buy a PS5, it’s pointless.

On PC, you can play all games made by Sony, plus Microsoft games like made by Bethesda.

Sony made PS5 useless without exclusives, Jim Ryan is a liar too, he said that Horizon would be a special case. And look how the things are now.

    • If it doesn’t “need the SSD” then I guess there’s not really a reason to not make a PS4 version…

    • @Diegoctba911 Jim didnt say that Herman did

    • @tussizz and @diego show us you PSN ID…by sound you guy rather seemed to xbots

  • It’s so close

  • All of you who think this is coming to PC are dead wrong. Insomniac confirmed this game is PS5 Exclusive. If it is a timed exclusive it says so. Check Godfall of Bugsnax, they are both timed exclusives and they both say that they are.

PS5 is going to have amazing exclusives and it’s a smart move from Sony to invest so much into games. Stop complaining just because you don’t have one.

    • As for the last bunch of years “console exclusive” has meant it’s coming to PC they’re only thinking what they’re told.

Though, if it’s not coming to other things, why did they call it a “console exclusive” instead of an “exclusive”? All their “mistake” seems to have done is annoy people.

    • Well I know I’m not spose to spoilering myself buuut who cares right? Heh right?? No?
      :'(

  • Call GHOOST

  • As long as this is a proper Rachet game and not some stealth attempt to get me to play some lame Rivet character this may get me to buy a PS5

  • Waiting for games to come to pc is kinda pointless I’ll be playing this day one on ps5 why wait 3 years later to play it on pc

    • At the speed at which Sony is producing PS5 consoles, some have to wait 3 years anyway.
Who knows what will happen in three years, Days Gone and Horizon were also once exclusive titles and now you can play them on PC, so this one might also get released on PC, who knows.
Exclusivity or not, in the end all that counts is money.

    • Why do people keep blaming sony for PS5 product without researching. There is a world wide chip shortage due to covid. Consoles, GPU, Cars, processors…anything with a chip in it has product issues.

the demand for PS5s is higher than the amount of chips available.

    • PS4 have thousands of exclusives yet only 2 games are on PC?…So ur claims are utter bs and garbage @mrbarrow

    • This clutch sam guy thinks that only Horizon and Days Gone will be ported on PC. What a simpleton. =P

Jim Ryan said that more are coming, just Google it ffs.

  • inter_philspence

haha, console exclusive?so I will only buy your games on PC, not ps5,you only care about PC.

  • mikeyshowtime118

Wish I could get my hands on that PS5. This is the only game I want to get.

  • Cool that it’s presented by a character. Game looks gorgeous.

  • earth_inheritor

    Second i heard that voice…ZIM!!!!!

  • unemployedteen19

Jesus, if this comes to pc some people here will probably have a stroke or something hahaha can’t wait to read the comments when they announce the gow port

  • Ratchet and clank rift apart releasing on PC keep dreaming maybe when the PS6 is out in 2030

  • I only saw 5 planets. Hope it’s not another short game.

  • NinjaRemoteplay

It doesn’t make any sense how good this game looks,it’s underappreciated.

  • Looking good!!

  • Day 1 purchase for me…. but need to get ps5 first…. its always sold out here in Malaysia…. unless u want to pay extra to scalpers…

  • Day 1 purchase for sure :)

  • Seeing too much River and not enough Rachet.

  • Far as story is concerned, I’m sure it will be somewhat ‘okay’ but I’m honestly not too keen on another Ratchet and Clank being apart from one another. Crack in Time is one of my favorite R&C games but repeating that doesnt really have the same effect anymore.

I also mentioned this before but I hope this is the final story of the whole Dimensionator arc. Feels like the darn piece has overstayed its welcome long enough.

  • So pumped
