The PlayStation.Blog Game of the Year polls are now live and awaiting your votes! We’ve got 17 categories this year, featuring returning favorites as well as a couple new ones that integrate PlayStation 5 into the mix. One quick note: Cyberpunk 2077 will be eligible for next year’s Game of the Year awards given its release timing.
These polls will remain open until 11:59pm Pacific on Sunday, December 13. After they close, we’ll tabulate the results and reveal all the winners later in the month. Don’t see your favorite game nominated? Each category is open to write-ins as well, so drop ’em in there!

Also, Sackboy: A Big Adventure was the biggest surprise for me this year! That was so good! I’ve got 30 hours in it now and still haven’t started on any of the multiplayer levels! :) Highly recommend it!

Ghost of Tsushima was a good game but I found the story hollow and forgetable. His uncle was a stubborn dick and he never really had any emotions. Taka story was the one who I felt have a connection to the player. Last of us 2 is Goty

Best Soundtrack was Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Best story and GOTY is Ghost of Tsushima. Especially with the free Legends mode multiplayer they surprised us with.

My experience with lou2 can be summarized in three words, (Pretty, annoying, and random)

So it pretty much doesn’t matter what you vote for, Sony will just pick best everything for whatever Sony wants.
I mean, they falsify sales records too (oh hey, no games came out, and there was no price reduction but we sold 1503242x as many VR headsets this month for no actual reason~!!! “Oh by the way, we also septupled our sales of a robot dinosaur game, without it being in any charts, amazing right?!??! ” 😁

I really enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima! Haven’t played The Last of Us 2to really compare them and give an opinion on which’s best. They should both be great games! Having said that I have more reasons to “vote” on GoT than TLOU2.
I highly recommend playing it, its an amazing experience as long as you avoid the online hate. GoT was very fun as well. I’m okay with either of them winning GOTY.

A lot of good games this year. All memes and jokes aside, TLOU2 deserves it most.
A game that was hated by at least half the fanbase for legitimate reasons does not deserve awards. I would not even put it near the top. If it wins over Ghost of Tsushima then there’s something seriously wrong with the decision making. You can be reductive and call it online hate but so many people have expressed thoroughly why they hated it.

Ghost of Tsushima just destroyed TLOU2 Players Choice voting last night. 48% of the votes went to Ghost of Tsushima for the win, TLOU2 had 32%. So a very large majority loves Ghost of Tsushima and hates TLOU2,
You clearly have no idea what happened on 4chan lol. Tlou2 was winning by 12%, then people on 4chan were like “We need to save gaming” or smth and started making alt accs to vote for it. Not for ghost to win, but for Tlou2 to lose. I don’t have any problem with Ghost winning at all, I just wish people would appreciate it being a game instead of just using it to bring Tlou2 down. I can’t choose for best studio of the year because all of them released incredible titles that made 2020 an incredible year despite continents and states being on fire and that small itty bity problem of a global pandemic happening. Congrats to all these amazing studios on their nominations cause they truly deserve this for giving, not only me but gamers all around the world, a fantastic gaming experience to combat this crazy yet. I look forward to whatever they produce next cause this year has been awesome for gamers.

I’ve never been so torn between two games for game of the year. I recently finished GoT and i had finished Tlou2 when it came out and i love both of them. I’m okay with either winning, phenomenal games that we are taking for granted.

For me, I like it up until you start to play as Abby. It just disrupts the whole Ellie story line. The story is the only thing I dont like about the game though, every other category it has been put in, besides best narrative and game of the year,it deserves to win. But when that one thing happens in the theater, (don’t want to spoil it) you just suddenly play as Abby and for me that really put me off of the game.

I can answer your question on why people don’t like TLOU 2. In fact I can give you afew examples, here goes.
1. Bad story, it felt it was written by some 12 year old.
2. Killing of a beloved character, the way it was all executed was just all wrong.
3. Stupid decisions by characters. For instance, there’s one scene when Ellie tosses her gun to one side, duh. That’s only one scene.
4. Flashbacks and dream sequences which tries to support the boring dull story, which makes everything twice as worse🙄
5. Forced gameplay. Meaning, Character control slows down to comply with the dull story. The game also likes to preach the player on certain agenda’s, no thank you I say.
6. Fake Advertising of the game to deceive the public, that is Deception.

Sony needs to be honest with themselves for the 1st time in the last two years 2019-2020 and acknowledge that Ghost of Tsushima is GOTY and The Last of us Part 2 is the worst Naughty Dog game ever produced do this and PS5’s will sell at an even higher rate in 2021 than 2020
