PlayStation 5’s launch expands around the world

Hi all – PlayStation 5’s launch expanded this week to include more territories in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America, joining Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, and the United States last week.

To welcome this new generation of gaming, the PlayStation team worked to light up iconic buildings and popular sites in 25 territories all around the world, projecting images of the PlayStation shapes, the PS5 console, the DualSense wireless controller, and other PlayStation brand imagery.

Hello.

Excited with new gen, however there is no possibility to buy one.
The supply vs demand seems like a failure.
Hope in the next wave will be able to get one.
Or just wait for a couple of revisions and sales.

  It all got scalped they shouldnt have let retailers or stock they must have pre drafted the contracts fir shipping before the preorders went live otherwise it makes no sense. They need to switch back to the priority based term of use method or add bundles. And this all digital order system is resulting in more bot order issues. The went from priority to needing an account but you can make one and use it using a link posted on the que page

I am a big fan of sony playstation. Currently I own a playstation 4 and want to experience new games on playstation 5 but sadly there is no launch date announced for India.

I request you to please send details of Playstation 5 India launch and reason for the delay in India. After the global launch in rest of the world why Indian fans were left out. I understand the high demand for the console and the stock being limited due to COVID, however in other countries PS5 is getting restocked and we don’t have a launch date yet. Xbox series X has launched in India why can’t PS5 be available?

Tried everything and everywhere, have tried every release at Walmart online PS5 available times, Best Buy, Amazon, Game Stop (being 1st name signed up on calling list for PS5 release at x3 locations). After countless trips to Game Stop checking for update to be informed that they weren’t calling anyone on any list and only getting a few consoles per store that will be available online only. MY SON HAS BEEN ASKING FOR PS5 since first advertised over year ago. My 11yr old son, Like many children with Autism get “obsessed” focused on one specific thing and it’s only thing they want to talk about. Knowing new system would be expensive, I’ve put money into acct. specifically for purchase of new PS5 release. Saved $630 unknowing what it would cost. Only to find that it’s unattainable. Other than for $1k or more from re-sellers of system. I can’t afford to buy one of those financially and won’t out of principle because it’s wrong.
Understand release of consoles ONLINE ONLY due to COVID-19 but shocked that you guys weren’t able to predict such actions and have safe guards in place to prevent BOTS & hackers from buying up supplies????? Did you just not produce enough to fulfill consumer demand? I’m praying that PlayStation has a solution for current debacle. I know you have the expertise to fix this for my son and all the other kids out there asking Santa for Best game system this year!!!!!! Plz say YES, there will be more systems released! Plz

Any tips for a man with severe RA to try and hook a PS5. I had one in a cart on three different sites, Walmart, Best buy, and EB Games and by the time I enter my payment information I get an out of stock message.

I am a disabled Veteran. I sustained several lifelong injuries during multiple deployments. Gaming helps me to relax and take my mind off of the pain. I have been looking forward to the PlayStation 5 for well over a year. Now that it has launched, scalpers using bots are scooping up all of them ruining my chances of getting just one. I really need to get one soon. I’m not asking for a free one. I’m just asking for the genuine opportunity to buy one now. I am willing and fully expecting to pay full price.

Sony, please do something about the people selling them on eBay for double or even quadruple the normal price. Monitoring eBay for those people and going after them for the extra profit might make them think twice.

Dear Sony,

Congrats on this launch! I’m sure it must have been a challenging one, specially during these times.
My heartfelt kudos comments to all the teams involved with PS5!

As one of your proud customer/gamer, I’ve few things to say ( I hope you will acknowledge & reply to my message ).

1). Is it fair/OK to say it’s a global launch? Is PS5 launched in India? I think no.
2). Isn’td also fair to provide pro-active updates about the availability of PS5 stocks to all your games/customer around the globe? I think, yes.

I think while Sony celebrates it great PS5 launch, it should also be very-2 deliberately taking care of the emotions of their fans/gamers/customers, specially the one who are struggling to get one.

You keep posting these big Hurrahs here, on FB and Twitter like the large majority of us are supposed to care. You botched the pre-order session. You’re left who knows how many of us who signed up for the Sony Direct Pre-order and yet you have plenty for online retailers. Great.. the bots have pillaged what is left. There are 15-20,000 PS5s for sale on eBay and who knows how many of us are left in the cold of Last Gen. These posts are just insulted Sid.. Get in touch with your fan base. I’m sure you have a very very very large list of people who signed up for your direct Pre-order program who didn’t get ‘picked’. Save some stock. Reach out to them and make sure they get one. Practice Good Business not just “Woohoo! We sold all of our stock!”. Sincerely – long time PS Fan left in the dark

Scalpers keep buying up all the consoles and trying to charge over a grand for them.
Something needs to be done or nobody except con artists and millionaires will be able to buy a PS5.
I’ll be waiting till next year at least anyway.
I just hate seeing what is happening and nobody is doing anything about it.
I’d like to be able to buy one at some stage in my lifetime and that’s not going to happen if scalpers keep buying them all out.

Terrible ps5 rollout. Seems like Sony is just another big company. Just concerned about sales-bottom line. I will be making the switch to xbox-microsoft.

You are right sales are sales to them, but we can’t sit by and allow the scalpers to be free to buy them all up with their bot programs and then charge us exorbitant amounts! If we all reach out in this way, they’ll listen.

Sony, please. The majority of us that didn’t pre-order are begging you. listen please pass this on to the people making the sales decisions… I’ve reached out to every major retailer selling your product locally and they have told me that Sony has told them they’re not allowed to sell any new consoles on the shelves, only online. The problem with that, is all the robots are buying up consoles for shady scalpers and they’re being sold for 2 to 20 times the price! The rest of us don’t have a chance at all and it’s not going to help when you replenish stock! As soon as they go up for sale, all the bots get them. I’ve tried since the first day they were offered and have done a lot of research since. Just look it up online if you’re not up to date with the problems we’re having. It’s not that most of us are missing out, it’s all of us are missing out now! Unless we have robot programs to buy them?! This is a new world, there’s a new set of hackers out there and we’re never going to be able to buy one of your systems, unless you step in and do something about it! We need to be able to physically go into stores and buy them so we have a chance too! Please?!

I have to say I was really mad about these reseller groups using bots to buy up all the PlayStation 5 forcing people who want a PlayStation 5 to pay an upcharge just to get one. Sony’s is loving every minute of it because their sales are going through the roof. they don’t really care about their long-term customers. But every cloud has its silver lining. Because I’m certainly not going to buy one until they make a model that solves the overheating problem. On top of all of that this system should have came with at least a 2 TB hard drive. Because the total price of a PlayStation 5 plus the $200 is probably going to be for one of their expansion cards. Making the actual cost of the system about $700 and if you add PlayStation plus to that close to the $770. I certainly aren’t going to buy one anytime soon in the same goes for Xbox.

PS5 Remote play to PlayStation TV and PS Vita needs to be added to these devices. I know I can use my iOS devices to connect to PS5 but PS TV and PS Vita are much better options. Please Sony update your Hardware I am sure it’s not hard and we as customers would be very grateful.

Ps5 may have went global. Sony shouldn’t be so cheerful. You may have had sales. But how many are actually playing!?! I landed two Xbox’s on launch and enjoying them. I rather be enjoying a ps5. You all screwed up and kept on allowing bots to obtain and resell for a fortune. I have family who is trying to purchase for their kids and they will not pay 2k price. So go ahead and suck yourselves off as a winner. In my eyes you are the biggest loser. As a company you should have done better!

How’re you guys choosing to expand when not all who needs the p5 has it? Can America finish buying the consoles before looking else where? Then we have gamestop telling us you’re not restocking them because of pandemic – so us essential workers are just gonna have to wait and pray we’re lucky enough to buy one? I’m literally stalking sites desperate for one. Gee thanks Sony.

Sony, like thousands of others I’ve given up on any hope of getting a PS5 this side of Christmas (a shame, but i’ll live), but I think you as THE company should do better by its fans; most of us have been with Sony since PS1 and have PSN/PS+ accounts so why then can’t you simply have a process whereby you record each accounts interest in purchasing new hardware. A simple page so we can navigate to, agree that we want to buy and then Sony reserves the hardware for each of its fans and distributes through Sony’s agents/partners?
Causual gamers can continue to search resellers for the hardware and battle scalpers (if they are stupid enough), whilst us real fans get measurable benefit from being loyal and paying members of Sony. We, in our smugg warm glow, can praise Sony whilst enjoy the next generation of game play.
Just a thought from another PS fan.

I am stuck in limbo between consoles…I wont buy any more PS4 games because of PS5 launch and cant play any PS5 games until Sony stops the bots from scalping the consoles so I can buy one. I see over and over loyal customers who are unhappy they cannot get ps5s yet. A lot of true playstation gamers want this for Christmas. Please sort it out so we can go the old fashion way again and queue! Socially distanced of course especially now in UK tier2 I or lower I am talking.
Dont let these scalpers do what they done last time and take all the ps5s so no true gamer can get one.
