Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered detailed

Included with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition coming November 12, 2020.

We were so excited to announce that a voucher code for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be included* with the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation 5 console. This is a full next-gen remastering of Marvel’s Spider-Man – the team has been carefully crafting the definitive version of the game with new assets, technology, and updates. We’re taking advantage of next-generation technologies that the PlayStation 5 console introduces, as well as bringing some additional features to the game, including three new suits.

Let’s talk about graphical updates. The team has done the painstaking work of updating the city’s environment to take advantage of the new console. Beyond improved models and materials, one of the biggest things we have brought to the game is ray-traced reflections and ambient shadows. We now have true reflections on the windows of buildings, and it looks stunning with our new skies and weather.

But it’s not just the environments; our characters have also gotten a huge upgrade. From higher fidelity skin, eye, and teeth shaders to individually-rendered strands of hair, the new tech and detail brings our characters and their performances to new life.

This does bring us to one of the bigger changes. In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel’s Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri’s moving performances take on a new life.

Here’s a clip of one of our most powerful scenes from the first game, when Peter arrives to work to find his boss and mentor, Otto Octavius, working on the arms that will come to define him.

Additionally, thanks to the power of the PS5 console, we’re now able to offer a high frame rate through Performance Mode, which targets a 60fps frame rate! This allows you to experience the beginning of the Marvel’s Spider-Man storyline like never before. It feels amazing to play. Here’s a quick clip.

That’s not all! We take full-advantage of other next-generation PlayStation features like near-instant loading (don’t worry, you can turn back on those humorous fast-travel animations if you miss them), Spatial 3D Audio on compatible headphones, and the revolutionary DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.  We’ve also brought new photo mode features to the game that we developed for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales: you can now place lights in the environment and change your Spider-Suit after you’ve lined up your shot!

Oh, speaking of Spider Suits… here you go:

That’s right, The Amazing Suit has arrived as one of three new suits in the game. It’s the perfect suit to wear as you attempt to earn the Platinum trophy in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered.

We hope this helps explain why we’re so excited for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered.

  • How this ordinary kid will pick up MJ?

  • Please add optional face models, we want to play as john bubniak

  • I preordered my copy on Amazon will I still get the preorder bonuses that come with the game?

  • The Miles Morales does look amazing and the remaster does also. On this other hand, I’m definitely not a fan of the new facial model, he looks too young and younger than Miles. That doesn’t make any sense… for me, It’s not a better match than John Bubniak, just a weird choice.

  • Just when you thought that Sony couldn’t screw up it’s PR any more, they discover a way of taking something prized from PS4 and breaking it. I don’t know what the mood is within Sony is at the moment, but there seems to be an almost nihilistic abandon for making people angry – instead of excited. What next?

Does Kratos get re-cast to look more like Christopher Judge? Not saying that would be a horrible thing… just saying, that shouldn’t be a thing.

  • I know ots probably sony’s decision not yours but I feel it necessary to ask what the hell is up with the pricing. 70 dollars and 80 euros and then 80 pounds??! So miles morales standard edition costs the same that spiderman ps4 cost me at launch hee in the uk. 60 pounds (actually it cost me like 45 as I got a physical copy but…). The ultimate edition then costs 80 pounds…. I thought it was bad when it appeared games had increased to 70 pounds a pop now I realise I was wrong and its 80. Which here in the uk is like 85 euros and is easily 100 dollars. What an absolute joke. See an increase from 60-70 dollars i could understand because if you consider inflation average of 2% since the last major games price bump its about 10 quid added together. But a 20 pound increase is a joke let alone when it means the uk and a few other countries are paying more than others by a large margin….

  • Well this dampend a lot of my excitement for furture installments in the franchise. Insomniac can do what they want with their game. I’m just not that interested in the the new look because he looks way too young and seems like the game should be called Spider-boy instead of Spider-Man.
Hope they at least make him look older in Spider-Man 2

  • Please bring back the original face model. It just doesn’t feel right at all, please

  • Please bring back the original face model. It doesn’t feel right at all. Literally begging to bring back Peter Parker

  • Lame lame and lame…just not so lame as people willing to support this recycled bs.Spidey recycled is lame,Peter’s new face is lame and andrew garfield costume really?…well lame. The worst part of all this crap is that on Spidey 2 we’ll probably have to bear this crappy face model you chose for Peter…just cuz you wanna make him look more like Tom Holland?…pathetic.Let’s see if Spidey 2 is worth any money cuz nothing here is…I knew the 1st Spidey was too good to be true, the game was in the edge of perfection of course insomniac had to go downhill lol.

  • I pre ordered the ps5 bundle that comes with Spider-Man: Miles Morales but is it the normal or ultimate edition that comes with it and if it’s the normal can I upgrade to ultimate to get the Spider-Man: remastered

    • you can buy a ps4 copy of morales on disk to get a free upgrade to ps5 version.

then form the game menu you will be able to buy spiderman remastered at a price.

or just by the ps5 ultimate edition and have a download code for the remastered in the box.

  • It sounds like there’s a “Max Performance” and a “Max Quality” setting – so show us shots, including combat, in both. I want to see if it really looks and feels different.

And show these in 4k videos with the same frame rates as the source (understanding it may not be 60fps for both, right?). I want to see more than one single screenshot is max quality mode, and a better understanding of what I’m getting in max performance, before I spend money to buy Spider-Man again.

  • GIVE US BACK HIS OLD FACE!!

  • Spidey Second Suit. Finally one step closer to the Symbiote Suit.

  • The new face looks like trash, please bring back the old face!

  • what i do not get is you go to the effort of remastering but your forcing people to buy miles Morales to get your hard work.

just allow us to buy it digitally without needing to boost sales of another game. let miles Morales stand on its own legs and see how well it does.

i also wonder if this is the new face that will be going into the avengers game next year.

#free spider-man remastered ( no i do not mean free of charge )
digital / physical release for everyone

  • In my opinion the new Peter Parker face looks terrible

  • Really not happy about the bundling the PS5 “Remaster”. Pretty scummy move by Insomniac and Sony! I guess I’ll just wait for it to be a free PS+ game, or has a deep sale.

  • The remaster looks absolutely beautiful, but the new Peter looks like an imposter.

  • Unfortunately the change for Peter won’t be reversed. Developers who say they care about community feedback is all usually smoke and mirrors. They really do not care, and you’ll just have to get used to the “new” Peter. If you cared that much though, just don’t re-buy the game.

  • I have two questions if anyone knows.

If I pre-order the ps4 miles morales edition do the pre-order bonuses carry over to the ps5 version of the game.

Since I get the ps5 edition for free when buying the ps4 version do I also get the ps4 version for buying the ps5 version? I ask because I will be taking my ps4 to a different location and it would be cool to play on both while just buying the ultimate edition straight up.

    Thanks in advance

  • The important question is: is MJ still ugly? That really took me out of the story.

  • If I buy ps4 miles morales digital, can I do free upgrade to ps5 miles morales digital? Then from ps5 miles morales digital, I can buy ps5 spiderman remaster?

    • Yes, if you buy Miles Morales digital for the PS4 you can do a free upgrade to Miles Morales Digital for the PS5. Then you can pay 20$ for the Spider-Man Remaster.

    • If you buy Miles Morales digital for PS4, you will get it for free digitally on PS5. But, and I may be wrong on this, I’m pretty sure you can only purchase the Spider-Man remaster in the Ultimate Launch edition for PS5 and that you cannot purchase the remaster after getting the standard edition unless you buy the game again in the Ultimate Launch edition. If you’re planning on getting a PS5 and want the remaster, you should probably wait to get Miles Morales until you get your PS5 so you can get that Ultimate Launch edition.

  • It says that if you buy ps5 miles morales standard you can take advantage of a paid upgrade for Spider-Man remastered am I reading this correctly

  • Guys worse than the new Peter Parker are the other changes. Why do I say that? You see, in a video comparison with the original PS4 version, I noticed that there are far fewer cars and pedestrians on the streets and I was shocked by that. Trees with less color and also with fewer flowers / leaves. In Dr. Octopus’ laboratory, several background things are less visible and also less clear. Ihh there are several other things different from the PS4 version. Guys, I’m very disappointed with this remastering… I don’t have it for PS4 yet and I’ll seriously think about getting the GOTY version of Spider than this Ultimate Edition by Miles Morales. What a disappointment Sony !!!

  • Crazy this doesn’t allow me to upgrade from PS4 version – Really need to reverse that!

    • Why? It’s a full remaster of the original game providing ray tracing, 60fps, new suits, new photo mode, new trophies, new platinum, new skin fidelity, individually rendered strands of hair, more NPC’s more cars, better textures and detail, new eye and teeth shaders, more realistic facial expressions, more saturated colors, more NPC model diversity, improved weather and skies, true reflections, better shadows, and more. So much work went into making this than just an average upgrade other games are getting. It’s nothing new for remasters to be officially considered as an entirely new title and for users to purchase them separately. I’m surprised it’s only $20, I would expect at least a full $60 initial release price. I’m not trying to argue with you or attack you, I’m just trying to get my point across that I don’t think it should be expected for a full, high quality remaster like this to come as a free upgrade. I hope you understand where I’m coming from and I hope you have a nice day.

  • I really think John Bubniak was and will always be the better Peter Parker (shoutout to bubniak) swapping him for the not-at-all parker Ben Jordan was an absolute mistake in my opinion and of countless others. Really hope you guys and Insomniac BringBackBubniac. Been a Spider-Fan for my whole 13 years till today and I really wish the good old ORIGINAL Peter will be back.

  • The PS4 version was better in countless ways. I have bought the GameOfTheYear and that excels the Remastered by a massive amount. Especially due to John Bubniak and since that was more detailed and more Spider-Man and Peter Parker feeling.

  • I turn to a vampire any time i want to. i become a vampire because of how people treat me, this world is a wicked world and not fair to any body. at the snack of my finger things are made happened. You are young you have the whole world open to you. You can be anything that you choose if you apply yourself and try hard to work toward that goal. But being a Vampire is not what it seems like. It’s a life full of good, and amazing things. We are as human as you are.. It’s not what you are that counts, But how you choose to be. if you want to become a powerful vampire kindly contact the vampire kingdom on their email worldofvampir @ hotmail . com

  • Great job, can’t wait for ps5 And new spidey+other ps exclusives. But i have one question related to me personally and those who have 2 consoles.

Atm i have ps4pro for home and ps4slim for traveling. In my case i can continue play from my save on any console.
What about spiderman MM ps4 version if i get ps5(i get it on 19.11). As far as i know i can play ps4 disk on both consoles(ps5 and ps4slim). But is it possible to share save and continue play where i left off?

Its really important question for many users, maybe Sony plan to reveal it later i dunno. But cross save between generation if game is crossgen its essential for gamers who has 2 or more consoles. Same question for other ps5/ps4 titles and for games with backward compability, and for ps+ collection on ps5.

    Best Regards

  • And another question regarding spiderman. I have done platinum+all dlc. If i upgrade to s5 can i use my save file?

  • Even though thats not our original peter I Still like the fact that the graphics get amped up and we get a amazing spider suit plus 60 fps isnt to bad either

  • I’m buying the Ultimate Edition but when does the voucher for the Remastered PS4 Spider-Man game run out as I will be getting the ps5 for Christmas and buying the PS5 edition of the Spider-Man Miles Morales but I don’t know if I’m guaranteed to get a PS5 and i would just like to know when the voucher runs out as that information would be helpful

  • #notmypeter

  • If I purchase Miles Morales digitally on my PS4 and then choose the PS5 upgrade—do I still have a digital license for my original PS4? Does the PS5 upgrade lock my game to only the PS5?

  • Correct me if i’m wrong, so if you bought the lauch edition for ps4 you can only get the preorder rewards of the game+the miles morales’ game
And if you bought the ultimate launch edition which is only available on ps5 you can get all those rewards +parker’s spiderman(remastered)
Thus the only way to get the parker version from ps4 is to upgrade it to ps5 version but you need to have the ps5?

I’m confused because some people told me that i can get the parker’s spidey game from buying ultimate launch edition and it’s available on ps4🤔🤔🤔

    • Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available on both PS4 and PS5. The Miles Morales Ultimate Launch edition, giving 2018 Spider-Man remastered, is only available on PS5. If you buy Miles Morales for PS4 you can still play it on PS5 with the same save data, but you can only get the 2018 game’s remastered edition by purchasing Miles Morales for PS5 Ultimate Launch edition. If anybody told you that Spider-Man (2018) remastered is available on PS4, you’re wrong. Only the original. If you’re planning on getting a PS5 and want the remaster, I’d suggest waiting on getting Miles Morales until you can get a PS5.

  • will this spectacular spiderman costume only be available on ps5 or ps4 will it also be available?

  • To be honest, I don’t mind the face change. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the old face and I do prefer it to this, but I understand why the change was made and I’m willing to deal with it in order to enjoy all of the major remaster upgrades. Ray tracing, new hair/skin, more people and cars, 60fps, farther draw distance, new suits, new trophies, new photo mode, new platinum, PLUS all three DLC’s with these upgrades only for $20! Come on, I’m not passing up an opportunity like this! I really got used attached to the original face model but I’m hoping I can get used to this over time.
The change is upsetting, but I don’t think it’s any reason to get legitimately angry at Insomniac or the creative director or Ben Jordan. And for me, personally, I don’t find it a big enough reason not to purchase the remaster. It’s fine if this means you don’t want to get it anymore, that’s your preference. Just please don’t get hostile about it. It doesn’t matter that much. The original PS4 look still exist on the PS4.
