The Drop: New PlayStation Games for March 31, 2020

Escape Raccoon City in Resident Evil 3, or reveal your truth in Persona 5 Royal.

You’ll be seeing STARRRSSSS on PS4 next week. Revisit — and attempt to escape — a terrifyingly realized Raccoon City in Capcom’s blockbuster remake of Resident Evil 3. This one also includes Resident Evil Resistance, which pits four survivors against one mastermind in an online multiplayer battle of wits. Think you’ve got what it takes?

Join Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves — including newcomer Kasumi — in Persona 5 Royal, an updated new take on the legendary JRPG series’ most recent mainline entry. Other new additions to Royal include a new area and activities, a grappling hook for more deftly navigating Palaces, and Showtimes: flashy, custom-animated new team attacks that ooze style (just like the rest of the game). Reveal your truth on March 31.

For a full list of new games coming to PlayStation next week, read on. And enjoy The Drop!

  • Um you kind of forgot Resident Evil 3 in this post, one of the biggest games of the year. I’m getting that, Persona 5 Royal, The Complex and several others. Great week ahead.

    • I feel like the PS5 needs compatibility with external SSDs.

      Taking advantage of PCIe 4.0.

Possibly a Frontal Memory slot which would make it practical when your memory is full you can swap it for another one.

You could go what Xbox is doing and have other manufacturers licensed to produce them like Samsung, Seagate and Kingston.

It would be like the PS2 memory cards like back in the day.

I greatly appreciate, and many people do, appreciate the fact that you can add your own Internal SSD.
That is a must for a lower cost option.

However, for the more casual, like tech enthusiasts, a memory card is simpler, can be swapped for another, adding more memory.

I think it would be a cool feature to add and possible to make. Even if only future PS5 models adopt it.

Don’t get rid of the internal memory slot. That’s still better in my opinion.

    • Yes, a frontal slot makes more sense. It’s a pain to go to the back to remove and swap a memory card.

      “Oh buT THe DeSiGn?”

And? The PS3 hid all of it’s slots really good, the PS4 a little bit too much as fat memory stick were hard to install.
Just a small slider and nobody knows the difference.

  • Nice to see the Vita getting some love this week. I’ll be picking up the standard AAA titles, plus a few others.

  • Finally Persona 5 Royal! Also I’m gonna pick Battle Rockets for my Vita

  • My name is Pedro is missing along with Resident Evil 3..lol

  • Another week, another roguelike game.

  • Why no news about PS Plus games for April?

    • Because with the new slower download speeds, it will be April by the time you finish downloading whatever you buy this month.

    • Because it isn’t the usual day they announce them yet? PS Plus games are always announced the Wednesday prior to the Tuesday they go free. Since the first Tuesday of the month isn’t until April 7 you won’t hear about the games until Wednesday, April 1.

Spoiler alert: They are Uncharted 4 and Dirt Rally 2.0. The video leaked the other day.
