PlayStation at PAX East: Play The Last of Us Part II, Final Fantasy VII Remake, More

Come play games with us!

UPDATE: Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as “novel coronavirus”). We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern.

Coming back from the holiday break can be tough, but it’s made a bit easier by the knowledge that before long, gamers from around the world will gather at PAX East and get their first up-close look at some of the year’s biggest upcoming games.

We’ll be there too, and we’re bringing some stuff we think you’re going to enjoy.

Want to play The Last of Us Part II? You can! Just stop by booth #10047 to be among the first to go hands-on with Naughty Dog’s masterpiece in the making. You can also experience MediaMolecule’s Dreams at booth #18003, then you can find us at booths #14047 and #12047 to experience other upcoming must-play titles like Marvel’s Iron Man VR, Nioh 2, Doom Eternal, Spelunky 2, and more.

Attendees can visit the booth to play the demos, but space is limited! We recommend securing your spot via the Experience PlayStation mobile app available on Apple Store* and Google Play**. New appointments will be made available each day of the show.

PAX East 2020 kicks off on Thursday, February 27 at 10AM Eastern time and runs through the weekend. Read on for full show hours, plus a list of all the games you’ll be able to play there.

Have fun!

  • Remnant from the ashes ey? DLC incoming?

  • Il doit y avoir une erreur : Pixel Ripped 1995 est un jeu PSVR …. ?

  • I wanna see some Spelunky 2!

  • wish they released demo of TLOU2.

    • I doubt they will, ND never release demo of their games.
What they could do is to release a video of it for all to watch, which would be easier to do. It would be a nice way to make it up to their fans and people who bought tickets for the show just to see the demo there.
I’d say they owe us this much, but will they do it, hell if I know.

  • Hey geniuses, have you ever tried the virtual queue system you devised? It’s bad enough to wait over an hour for a ten minute demo, but it’s even worse to try to schedule for an appointment for a game and slots for the day are filled from the day before. Actual attendees to these conventions know what I’m talking about and have gotten fatigued over these dumb systems implemented when what should really be focused on is prioritization of consoles for particular highlighted games and keeping the lines for those games under one hour (pro tip: Bloodborne managed to do it.)
PS: stop stirring up drama against E3 when you’re not handling conventions like these well, perhaps focus on announcing the actual specs for the PS5 and its launch titles

  • Will you folks at least when these a demo for everybody that was going to the convention or everybody in general

  • I was looking forward to this but it’s understandable why this has been cancelled.

  • What a pathetic excuse.

    • Okay, but what’s more important here, your video games or your health?

    • There no reason to attend when Sony can simply upload the Demo free for everyone to play. That is the purpose of the store.

    • I guess…they really want to make sure that nobody at the company gets sick if they can help it. It’s a critical time for Sony. Still though, it seems like the reaction somewhat over conservative. I hope they have some kind of show soon!

  • how many coronavirus cases are in boston?

    • Literally one, weeks ago.

This feels like their demos weren’t ready more than a serious concern over a virus.

    • According to the CDC there’s been a whopping 19 confirmed positive cases in the entire US with 54 cases still pending diagnosis. More people will leave PAX East with the flu than have gotten COVID-19 in the entire country.

  • You should release the Last of Us 2 demo publicly.

  • Ugh, literally the only reason why I bought a ticket this year! There’s only been 1 case in Boston weeks ago and they were immediately quarantined. It’s good they’re thinking of their employee’s, but haven’t heard of other developers doing this and the con with tens of thousands that attend is still happening. Seems like an overreaction.

  • The 1 hour Demo of The Last Of Us Part ll, should be free for all to play and download from the Playstation Store.

I don’t mean to sound rude, but l’d rather play the demo myself then hear the impressions of journalists babble on about the demo, when I can simply download the demo from the Playstation Store.

Why is it such a problem to release a good meaty demo nowadays free on the store.

  • this is terrible news for anybody planning to attend. please release the Last of Us 2 demo as compensation. Better yet, please re-schedule some Sony event soon where the ps5 gets rolled out in grand style. That’s what the fans are waiting for alongside TLOU chapter 2.

  • thank goodness Sony’s hopefully going to move away from the catchphrase “greatness awaits.” it’s too easily mocked, especially in this instance.

  • I’m so excited!!! :D

  • I got my PlayStation 2 console six years after it was released. Yeah I wasn’t really a fan of the game back in the year 2002, because I owned a Game Boy Advance then. I thought there was no game better than my Game Boy Advance back then, but it all changed when I played PlayStation 2 in my friend’s house two years later. So I begged my parents back then to get me the PlayStation 2 console as a birthday gift in 2004 which they ended up given me two years later. Ever since then I have been a full time PlayStation Game Console lover.
