Share of the Week: 25th Anniversary

PlayStation fans show off what #25YearsOfPlay means to them.

This week PlayStation celebrates 25 incredible years! We asked you to pull out your memories from over the years and share your favorite consoles, games, and show off your collections. We were blown away by the response, and are highlighting just a handful of the amazing submissions:

gamers_strike displays an impressive gaming setup, complete with a homemade TV frame to resemble the PSP.

frollein.herzlich shows off her love of the original PlayStation.

AmericanPrinceX shows off his impressive collection of consoles and handhelds.

Homer2k shows off his impressive collection, but the real treat is clicking through to hear the relationships he’s forged through PlayStation (including proposing to his fiance at PSX and their upcoming PlayStation-themed wedding!).

museo_gamer shows off their set up and many collectables.

Vicky890_ has a flair for limited editions and DS4s.

This is just a taste of the love we saw submitted. Make sure to peek at the #25YearsOfPlay tag on Twitter and Instagram to see more incredible memories celebrating this week’s theme. Want to be featured in next week’s Share of the Week?

  • Those are some amazing collections. Mine’s pretty good too but not compared to some of those.

  • Wow. Incredible stuff. I’ve got a lot of PlayStation stuff, but all those special edition consoles and controllers are amazing. Great photos.

  • Wish those PlayStation Vitas were still getting made. I am interested in this article but keeping the box is hard.

  • How can we be sure those are just really detailed mini-figs and furniture and that is a regular PSP?

  • Happy 25th Anniversary, PlayStation! KOTOR4240.

  • I wish PlayStation Vita TVs were still being made. Congrats everyone featured for this week. I’m excited for the next theme

  • And the higher ups at Sony / Playstation says that people don’t love handhelds! 90% of these photos have Vitas and PSPs! Heck even a TV shaped like one! Come on guys! You know we still love handhelds! Listen to John Kodera!!!

  • So many great memories.

As someone who has owned every PlayStation that has come to the US since 1998, I can honestly say PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita are my top two devices ever released. I really hope Sony can recapture the wider functionality and more diverse library of the PS3 with PS5. Also really hope that they are able to give the Mobile Business a try. A PlayStation Phone in a Vita like form factor, with full support for native playback of PS1 – PS5 and PSP – Vita would be a must have for many PlayStation owners.

  • Good collections everyone!
