And here we are. The PlayStation Store download charts below reflect a year packed with innovative new experiences, bold reimaginings of classic ideas, and masterclass-caliber execution in the realm of interactive storytelling.
But the big winner for 2018? That would be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, whose multiple Zombies experiences, best-in-class multiplayer, and blockbuster take on battle royale forged a new path forward for the genre-defining shooter.

Pretty sad to see COD and RDR2 take the top spots on a platform that had God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Detroit: Beocome Human this year. No Astro Bot: Rescue Mission on PSVR either, tsk, tsk.
On a Positive note, Beat Saber was almost the #1 selling PSVR titles for the year in less than a month! So well deserved. This is one of the best expereinces I had all year, in and outside of Interactive Entertainment. Thanks for bringing this to the platform. It was well worth the efforts.
Thank You for posting the lists. Looks like their is still more work to be done to get the best games in the hands of the masses. Keep on delivering at the level we have seen from The Last of Us, Horizon: Zero Dwan, God of War, Detroit: Bedome Human, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, and they will eventually come around.
So, I own Spider-Man on disk, and God of War as a digital copy – I’m sure my download of GoW counts towards that total, but does Spider-Man count towards it at all? If it’s just “downloads,” that can be misleading. How about “hours played on the platform,” or “unique players,” or something like that?
FeistFan. It clearly says ‘top downloads’. It’s not misleading
is not sad, the point is Spiderman and GOW are awesome games but when you finish them there is nothing else to do, but with COD you can play with your friends EVERYDAY and the best part is…. IS FUN…
