The Drop: New PlayStation Games for November 13, 2018

Spyro returns in fully-remastered glory, as feisty as ever.

Spyro means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but one thing is undeniable: He’s one of the most iconic, memorable, and feisty characters in the pantheon of gaming history.

Our purple pal takes flight once again next week on PS4 in Spyro Reignited Trilogy, featuring scaled-up graphics, a re-orchestrated soundtrack created with the help of original composer Stewart Copeland… and all the sass you remember from the game’s 1998 debut.

For a full list of new games coming to PlayStation next week, read on. And enjoy The Drop!

  • What a lineup, My Riding Stables has to be the top pick of everyone for the week.

  • curious as to what happened with overkill’s the walking dead, as i never got any sort of a notice, unlike the notice i got for spyro, then my monies were refunded even though i did not want to be refunded…… you guys also missed that the equalizer 2 will also be available digitally on tuesday as well, well i know i have it coming on my digital service.

  • Uhhhhhhh The Quiet Man came out on 11/01

  • A few decent titles are coming out this week, but I don’t see any day one must-haves. For a couple that intrigue me I’ll wait for a sale. Speaking of sales, anyone notice the trend of replacing weekly sales with biweekly sales. Some of the banners have pretended as if week two is different when it’s not. TBH there are some weekly additions that aren’t on the Double Discounts sale. They are very few. Since they merge the Double Discounts with the Weekly Deals, it’s difficult to spot them. If you open a window to each and sort by game/bundle, you can play Where’s Waldo with the meager weekly discounts.

djsaiyan is right. The Quiet Man came out next week. Read the Steam reviews for it. It’s an easy frontrunner for getting the most hated game of the year award.

To end positively, Hitman 2 does seem pretty solid, and judging from the reviews, very tempting to day one it.

  • I’m sorry, Mario, but the Dragon is going to kill you.

  • fallout 76 hitman 2 and spyro are the ones that stand out the most but personally feel like those are the type of games you get on sale especially with 76 as its clearly rushed and unfinished game

  • Spyro for me this week, but that’s about it. I wish I liked Fallout, but I’ve tried the last few games and I really just don’t like them.

My next big want is Beat Saber… so close!

  • Darn, if I would’ve known My Riding Stables was coming out, I would’ve held back on getting Red Dead Redemption 2

  • Ticket to Ride looks fairly interesting. Think I will probably pick up.

You guys were joking about My Riding Stables. Even If somebody gave us $5 I doubt any of us would actually have the guts to go into Gamestop, and buy My Riding Stables. That game seems like something you would want to only own digitally you wouldn’t want to be caught owning a physical copy of that by somebody you know.

    • Wrong. My Riding Stables is the game several people have been waiting for. It is definitive way to experience Riding and Stables.

  • Really pleased to see Slayaway Camp come to Vita, it’s an excellent fit for the system. Wordhunters looks interesting too (though probably only to me)

  • It’s so good to see Spyro back! It would be great if we could FINALLY play the classic PS1 Spyro and Crash games on the Vita, too. Europe has had them for a LONG time and we still can’t play them on the Vita in North America. =\

  • There should be opportunities for people to get rewards points without having to have a credit card, I love the playstation now that it’s turned into a global community but unlike the way it’s promoted, as giving the individuals the ticket to absolutely any entertainment experience or even the tools to create their own, but there are too many roadblocks once one has the access unless they are rich, I for one can’t afford to work 6 days a week and then spend an entire day off and paycheck to be able to do what I want, I digress, I do love it though despite the shortcomings
