Polls Open: Players’ Choice September 2018

It’s time! Cast your vote in the Players’ Choice poll for September and help decide the best new game of September 2018. Marvel’s Spider-Man is an obvious nominee, but we’ve got lots of other great picks this month too — Hollow Knight, FIFA 19, The Gardens Between, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Transference… what’s your pick?

How does it work? At the end of every month, PlayStation.Blog will open a poll where you can vote for the best new game released that month. Soon thereafter, we’ll close the polls, tally your votes, and announce the winner at PlayStation.Blog. PlayStation Store will also showcase some top Players’ Choice winners throughout the year.

What is the voting criteria? That’s up to you! If you were only able to recommend one new release to a friend that month, which would it be? In keeping with our long tradition in the Game of the Year Awards, remastered or re-released games won’t qualify. Ambitious, larger-scale rebuilds and remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will.

How are nominees decided? The PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation Store editorial teams will gather a list of that month’s most noteworthy releases and use it to seed the poll. Write-in votes will be accepted.

Spider-Man captured the essence of both Peter and Spidey, although I could do without the playing as Peter or Mary Jane sections. Sure, they offer some variety and puzzle breaks from the main action, but I don’t get tired of playing as Spidey. Remember the Banner sections in the 2003 Hulk movie game? Ultimate Destruction came out a year or two later and proved you could have more fun playing as Hulk the whole game. That said, I did vote for Spider-Man, as Insomniac is one of my favorite developers and continues to push the bar for great games.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is an amazing superhero game with a story that made me felt like I was watching a movie due to its breathtaking cinematics and great characters. The overall gameplay features was unique, fun and have variety. This game personally was a dream for me as an spiderman fan!! Ps. THE WEBSLINGING IS BEST PART OF THE GAME.

Hands down, it’s Dragon Quest 11 for me. Been waiting years for a dragon quest game for the console to make it to us since VIII. Here’s hoping that we will finally see more come over.

Though I haven’t played either of these games I’ve been a fan of Tomb Raider since it came out on the PS3. Loved the movies, expecially the recent one. Spiderman does look equally amazing but I feel the emotion coming from Tomb Raider, also it kind of remind me of MGS in a small way.

Dragon Quest XI for sure.
By the time you finish Marvel’s Spider-Man you arr not even done with 60% of Dragon Quest XI.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is only a fraction of what it could be to be as great as the other two games.

There were some good games to come out this year for the PS4 but Spider-Man was the one that stood out the most. Not only was this Insomniac’s first attempt at a superhero game but it was a superhero game made by fans, for fans and so much passion and respect being put into the game. The story was fantastic, the character designs were awesome and modern, the gameplay was fun and addictive, and the open world was the best re-imagined render of New York I have ever seen in a video game. EA has been on their greedy high horse all year rambling on how people don’t want or care about single player games but this game proved them wrong. Not only did it sell faster and more than God of War 4 which was also a great single player game, but it managed to sell more copies in its first three days than EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront 2 did in a week. I really hope this game gets a sequel and expands this Marvel Interactive Universe that Insomniac has created further.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Forsaken, it’s a massive improvement over D2’s base game and all of the prior expansions, but I’m gonna have to give it up to Spiderman because it’s an actual GAME, not an expansion, it is absolutely amazing as a standalone game, and I see no reason that it shouldn’t be one of, if not THE best game of September.

SpiderMan game is one of the best games out right. That Assassin Creed Odyssey is one of rhe best games out right. Black Oops 4 looking good as well.
