Voters showed up for God of War this month. Congrats, Santa Monica Studio!
Okay, so. We knew God of War had a shot at winning this poll, but y’all really like God of War:
Congratulations, Santa Monica Studio, on your landslide victory — God of War is officially (well, according to the readers of PlayStation.Blog, which makes it official in my eyes) the best new game of April 2018!
And thank you, readers, for the huge turnout in this month’s poll! Now then — any predictions for May?
April’s gone already? What?! Where did it go? Oh, right — video games!
High-profile heavy hitters God of War and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life dominated the new release lineup in April, along with some eye-catching independent games like Owlboy, Minit, Rick and Morty: Virtual Rickality, and The Swords of Ditto.
But only one of these titles can claim the Players’ Choice crown. We’ve compiled a list of April’s top-rated games, and the final decision lies with you.
Read on for rules and more details, or keep scrolling down to cast your vote. The poll closes at 11:59pm Pacific on Tuesday, May 10!
What is the voting criteria? That’s up to you! If you were only able to recommend one new release to a friend that month, which would it be? In keeping with our long tradition in the Game of the Year Awards, remastered or re-released games won’t qualify. Ambitious, larger-scale rebuilds and remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will.
How are nominees decided? The PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation Store editorial teams will gather a list of that month’s most noteworthy releases and use it to seed the poll. Write-in votes will be accepted.
