Rumbling out of the tattered pages of legend come the Ravenii – old enemies of humankind that once again threaten the world. Take up the ancient art of the sentinel and defend humanity in Extinction, coming to PS4 on April 10.
Extinction places players in the shoes of Avil, a warrior that uses mobility and strength in equal measure to stop the colossal ogres and their minions. Leap between buildings, swing from rooftops, and cut down the Ravenii threat in spectacular fashion.

I highly recommend Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs. I played it on PC and I had a great time. Surprisingly high production values despite being indie.
The closest I can describe it as is a mix of Disgaea+Persona+King of Dragon Pass.
I was excited about Extinction until I googled some previews. The developer at the end of March confirmed that the single player campaign will take 12 hours . That’s pretty short, especially considering developers quote the longest play time. I am guessing that the average length is going to be shorter There is no PS4 Pro support (boo!) or HDR support (boo!). There will be lots of DLC to waste your money on.
Comparisons to the obviously better game(s) Attack of the Titans were countered by the developer. Their giants are much bigger and fully clothed. Wow, that sold me on it smh.
Unless this game turns out to be a gem, which I doubt, my money is on this title being heavily discounted shortly after release.
Game length does not a great game make. Check out the original Metal Gear Solid, original Devil May Cry, Hellblade (for a recent example), original God of War. All short-ish games, but great games.
UGH!
Here we are again! 4 months into the year, and 95% of the releases have been by indies. And ALL of them SUCK!
Before indies came along gaming companies were making leaps and bounds in graphics, and gaming quality. Now, it’s all gone downhill since they’ve been allowed to take over the markets with all these 8, 16 and 32 bit pieces of crap.
Those things don’t even have decent story lines either!
But what’s worse, is that they’ve helped lower the quality of the mainstream production games too. Because they’re not putting any effort into giving us anything of quality, seeing how it’ll just get drowned in all the quantity of crap of everything else anyway.
Take FarCry 5, for example. They dropped the ball, and gave us such bad endings, because they got tired of trying somewhere midway. Just like all the other lazy devs anymore.
you sound deranged. maybe try educating yourself as per why games have plateaued (spoiler alert; they haven’t) rather than making stupid assumptions and crafting even dumber strawmen arguments.
Some of the most innovative and exciting things happening in gaming are being done by indies because they can usually take creative risks that AAA games can’t. Granted, there are some stinkers here and there, but you sound really ignorant when you paint all indies with the same brush or judge them based on how they look. Owlboy has some of the most gorgeous pixel art ever and it’s getting high reviews across the board.
Don’t have decent story lines? Having cutting edge graphics doesn’t equate to an amazing game. Do yourself a favor and go play “Celeste” and you will completely change your mind.
You’re an idiot if you think triple A companies are not putting effort or releasing games because the market is saturated with indies. Actually, based off your long, irrational comment, clearly you have no grasp on video game development. If we didn’t have indies, then we’d also have only a few dozen games released a year. Triple A games cost a lot of money, use hundreds of people and take years to finish. Use some common sense before you start trying to be an Internet vigilante fighting the “evil powers” of the indie development. These people are trying to make a living and fulfill their dreams.
I wish that the PS5 is backwards compatible with the PS4.
It should be easy enough to make them backwards compatible.
That would be an important feature moving forward, it is part of what made the PS2 a massive success.
Also make them run and look better with better frame rates, resolutions and maybe better graphical fidelity.
It is good that you’ll be using Navi GPU or greater.
You could announce 26Gb of Ram, but you need to go to 40Gb of GDDR5 Ram.
I don’t see a 2018 release, it takes a few years to develop games for a system so I would understand why you would release them early.
It would need an all new technology for Blu-ray disc reading speed.
It would need to read discs at an extremely high speed and read 500Gb discs.
My idea is that if the laser eye is significantly wider if not covering all the disc, the disc might not even need to move for the eye to read it all, making the PS5 more quiet and most importantly, it would not require a mandatory download on your HDD. The disc drive itself would be able to read it.
I hear they’re putting 1 petabyte hard drives in them for storage because the games will run at native 16k resolution. Also why stop at a laser eye wide enough to read one disc? It should be wide enough to read at LEAST 4 discs at once. No more multiple disc games (I’m looking at you FF7).
Day 1 reviews completely confirmed my impression of Extinction: it stinks. It’s another shoddy title given AAA price that it doesn’t deserve. I feel sorry for anyone who pre-ordered it.
Some games on the list look interesting like Deep Ones, game looks like a nice fit for Vita.Extinction looks good but the $60 price tag was a big shock…they should’ve taken the Hellblade path and release it at $30.Will keep ma hopes up for a demo.
Extinction and Owlboy look interesting.
Finally Project Nimbus.
This Game looks so amazing.
I wish the PS Store would update on midnight EST on Tues. I dislike waiting until 11am-12pm.
Also, I wish I know why ACA NeoGeo games for PS4 in the US are delayed compare to the XB1 and PS4 in Europe and Japan.

That sounds incredible! You’ve piqued the interest of at least one other player. Thanks for the suggestion!
