Watch PS4 Pro’s First TV Spot

Beautiful gameplay deserves beautiful music.

We’re only a few weeks in, but 2018 is already off to a promising start with great new games like Monster Hunter: World, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Celeste, and – just around the corner on Feb. 6 – Shadow of the Colossus.

We’re especially interested to see how this year’s new batch of games is tapping into the power of PS4 Pro. Monster Hunter: World is a perfect example, offering PS4 Pro players three separate rendering prioritization settings — Resolution, Framerate, and Graphics – which empower players to choose the heightened experience that’s right for them. All three modes are impressive in their own way, whether you prefer dynamic 4K rendering on your 4K TV, a super-smooth framerate, or increased visual detail.

Since PS4 Pro elevates your gaming experience, we wanted to similarly ‘elevate’ our new TV ad, our first for the console. Look out for Monster Hunter: World, along with God of War, Far Cry 5, and more featured in the new spot.

  • Hi Mary,

    That is a great commercial!

Please keep bringing out more like it. Maybe have that opera singer and do a song when the player is in online match or live streaming.

  • Did anyone else at the 20/21 second mark heard Trump?

  • (Almost) everything goes better with a comedic approach. The difficult thing is nailing it…which this video did for me, so congratz on that one^^

  • Far Cry 5! Will look amazing!!! :)

  • Haha, solid commercial, legitimately funny.

  • Bring back the creepy baby commercials!

  • Whoever your advertising company is, you should keep them. Excellent advertisement.

  • Exciting!!!

I’ve had the Pro since launch and it is well worth it. PSVR and TV Gaming (2K and 4K) are a nice step up on the Pro. Was especially impressed with Horizon and Gran Turismo Sport.

Just curious if you are going to start bringing more 4K content to the system now that you are marketing it?

It would be a huge added value to the system as a 4K entertainment hub, if we could buy 4K HDR content from PlayStation Video.

Also, it would be really nice to see Dolby Vision support added now that Sony’s TVs and Recievers have all been updated to support this more advanced HDR format. How awesome would it be to play Horizon: Zero Dawn or Gran Turismo Sport with even better HDR, or watch Spider-Man: Homecoming or Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets at their best?

At any rate, I love my Pro, and can’t wait to play Shadow of the Colossus on my Sony Z9D next week!

Why, why i save 80$ and bought Slim? It seems Slim completely lost relevance (((

  • The Pro has been out for a little more than a year and it’s just now getting a tv spot??

  • had one since it launched. copped the samsung ks8500 before it released, love love love my ps4 pro. every single game i’ve played on it been a heightened experience.

  • Sony was in an awkward spot when they launched the Pro. The PS4 was selling twice as many consoles as their nearest competitor but they wanted to give their more hardcore fans a more powerful option (plus give them a reason to buy Sony 4K TV’s) as well as get a jump on their competitor who had announced they’d be bringing a 4K console to the market in Fall 2017. So Sony was stuck in some ways. They didn’t really advertise the Pro because PS4 wasn’t quite at the point in it’s life-cycle or market saturation where they could announce an upgrade – plus they were the first to ever do a mid-generation upgrade. Now that their competition has been pounding their chests since this past November with “The World’s Most Powerful (also most expensive)” console, Sony really has no choice BUT to air PS4 Pro-specific ads so it makes sense to me.

    • What I meant to say was it makes sense to me why we’re only seeing the first PS4 Pro-dedicated ad now rather than a year ago.
