Giant Sparrow's sophomore release is an endearing, emotional experience, and we think you should give it a shot.
Hi, everyone! I’m happy to be in the driver’s seat for the newest installment of Play This Next. PTN is a program we’re running in collaboration with PlayStation Store where we shine our editorial spotlight on games we feel deserve more attention.
I’m thrilled that my inaugural edition of PTN is one where I get to tell you about one of the most moving experiences I had last year. If you enjoy narrative-driven gaming experiences, I implore you to play What Remains of Edith Finch!
Giant Sparrow’s more grown-up follow-up to The Unfinished Swan takes a decidedly darker tone than that of its predecessor, but it manages to maintain an underlying feeling of optimism throughout. An impressive feat, considering that the story revolves around various generations of your family kicking the bucket. What Remains of Edith Finch is a tale of juxtapositions: somber, yet hopeful; disturbing, yet comforting. It’s one of 2017’s most endearing stories, and a true must-play.
Watch the video above for a taste of the adventure that awaits, or head to PlayStation Store to see how the story plays out for yourself.
