An Introduction to the Cast of Ni no Kuni II, Pre-order Bonuses Detailed

The sequel to the adored JRPG hit features a new cast of characters. Digital Deluxe Edition & pre-order bonuses detailed.

Welcome back to the kingdom of Ding Dong Dell! You’ve been gone a long time and there is much to discuss!

First off, there are many new faces to familiarize you with. Let’s make the proper introductions:

Ni no Kuni 2 - Evan

Evan

Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, to be precise. This young man is the ruler of Ding Dong Dell and he’s been thrust into the position of king after the passing of his father, who was very much loved by the people of this great kingdom. Many of the citizens believe Evan is unfit to rule due to his lack of confidence and experience. Only time will tell if Evan can rise to the occasion and become the ruler that Ding Dong Dell truly deserves. Will Evan lead his nation to peace and prosperity or crumble under the weight of the oncoming evil?

Ni no Kuni 2 - Otto

Otto Mausinger

A usurper to the throne, with his nefarious mind he sought to overthrow the previous king and seize the crown for himself. He now plans to overthrow Evan by staging a coup. Will his plan succeed or can Evan put a halt to this betrayal?

Ni no Kuni 2 - Roland

Roland

An outsider to the world of Ni no Kuni, Roland is traveling with Evan and is said to be a high-ranking official of some sort from another land, although no one in the kingdom of Ding Dong Dell has heard of him. Roland also seems to be advising Evan during their travels… how will his influence shape the young king?

Ni no Kuni 2 - Tani

Tani

Evan’s chance encounter with a group of sky pirates introduce him to Tani, the adopted daughter to Batu, king of the sky pirates. Many of Tani’s fellow pirates describe her as a free spirit with an iron will and determination to boot. Almost immediately her and Evan form a bond that seems to be unbreakable. What role will Tani and her band of sky pirates play in Evan’s kingdom?

  • Can’t wait my mouth was on the floor when I saw this at PSX 2 years ago!!!

  • Hi,

    Can’t wait.

Will the Prince’s Edition and King’s Edition be avaliable in the EU and any info about the prices?

    • Hello!
So happy you’re excited for the game! The King’s and Prince’s editions will be available in EU territories. They should have pricing information via the Bandai Namco UK twitter account: @BandaiNamcoUK

  • It seems like most of these type of posts (i.e., not just this company’s posts) don’t include a link to the store. Why wouldn’t you want to make it easier for people to spend money? :-)

  • Does this mean no LE with a steel case for NA? (if it does, please have a sleeve like FFXV, XII and Persona 5 so it looks right in the Collection

    • This is not Sony’s game, therefore they have no say in how they release their physical editions.

    • How about you find out who the post is from and who is going to see it.

“Posted by Dmitryi Khlynin Community Specialist, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc.”

That’s the exact person I should be asking. I’m not asking Sony…

  • Will they be announcing the US equivalent soon? I want one so bad (King’s Edition)

  • Looking forward to the game but I really, really, REALLY hope that if there’s DLC it re-introduces the familiars to the title. I found the variety and individuality of them more appealing than the general appearance of these little spirits in the sequel. Here’s hoping. Regardless, I know I’ll enjoy the game.

    • I hope they don’t reintroduce the familiars, as i found it tedious trying to find certain ones just to help with story progression. I think the combat will be more fluid this time around without them.

    • There will be 2 large pieces of DLC, stay tuned to the PS Blog for details!

  • My kids really loved sitting by me and making me play Ni No Kuni as their reward for completing their homework quickly. They are really excited for this upcoming sequel.

    • That’s awesome to hear! Ni no Kuni II like it’s predecessor is a game to be enjoyed by all ages! We really hope to hear your feedback on Ni no Kuni II when you get a chance to play it :)

  • It would be so cool of NI NO KUNI 1 (Wrath of the white witch) made it to PS4 one day…

  • Enjoying the First NN, hopefully finish it before this one comes out.

  • Mr. Drippy! One Colin Moriarty brought the original game to my attention years ago. Best RPG on PS3. Thanks for the sequel.

    • Mr. Drippy is pretty rad but Lofty from Ni no Kuni II holds his own! Agreed on the BEST RPG for PS3. Can’t wait for you to try the sequel :)

  • only physical edition that includes season pass or making of disc is 200$ edition
only way to get steelbook edition is paying 80$
the best version isnt available in US, steelbook + making of + season pass, prince edition which isnt available in US
also, no awesome book this time? this is why your collectors edition sold insanely well , nobody cares about low effort cosmetic DLC
very disappointed and kinda upset , not even going to get anything but the standard edition

    • I agree with you. The EU collectors edition is so much better. For $200, the US edition is horrible. I’m so disappointed. :(

    • I agree. Season Pass (as much as that doesn’t make sense for a game like this) should’ve been in another edition between Standard and Collector’s, which itself doubled in price. The music box, vinyl and artbook in EU is way better.

I got 1 Premium and 1 CE but will probably cancel both, and wait for the standard game AFTER release, since the no familiars and changed gameplay are big changes for which I need to see more footage and read feedback. Not a fan of chibi either.

  • I had very mixed opinions of the first game… but the flaws were all things that could easily be fixed in a sequel, so I’m definitely interested to see how this game goes.

  • I already pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition, but if that preorder theme has music from the soundtrack, I just might get the digital edition too. I love those avatars too!

  • I already pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition, but if that preorder theme has music from the soundtrack, I just might get the digital edition too. I love those avatars too!

  • The us steelbook premium edition is mine :)

The uk prince edition looks nice too since it has season pass included.

  • Preordered the Premium Edition. Just so we know, how much will the season pass be by itself?

  • Now if they can just invent cryogenics, so I can simply freeze myself until this comes out. WIsh we could get our hands on the UK King’s Edition… that is quite possibly the most beautiful set I’ve ever seen.

    • I don’t understand different CE’s for different regions. Their Prince’s edition is a middleground that offers a Season Pass while NA offers it only in the CE, and the King’s Edition CE has much better options with the music box diorama and the vinyl. Music box rotates and has 2 sides and plays the theme. NA gets a chibi themed, uncovered, themeless, one-sided plastic toy and a music CD. 3D papercraft kit is okay but also geared more towards kids besides looking like a lunch box.

It’s like they made the NA CE for kids but the EU CE for adults.

  • Please, PLEASE, for love of god PLEASE tell me the collectors edition will be available in Canada. I love this game, I want to support them, let me support them.

  • If I get the King’s edition (eu), will I be able able to play on my NA console? I mean, is the game region free and will the dlc work? Honest response please and not a marketing one. I am going on a trip in europe during the release date at a friends house and could get it there and since the eu version is soooooo much cooler than the na version, i could arrange to get the king’s one but i need to make sure it will work when I ´m back.

    • Ps4 Is always region free, but you need make a UK profile on your Ps4 to download the dlc work. After that the dlc should work on any profile on your ps4.

  • Theme isn’t dynamic?(ノ`Д)ノ(っ °Д °;)っ
