It’s nearly time for another major system software update for PS4, and we could use your help beta-testing before it launches. Starting today, you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester and get an advance look at some of the improvements and new features coming to PS4.
You can register to be a beta tester anytime between today and the start of the beta in early February. Users must be 18 years or older. Once the beta starts, we’ll close registration.
Beta testers for our last system software update, 4.00, got to see things like our overall PS4 UI refresh, Folders, the revised Quick Menu, and much more before launch.
If you’re part of the program, you’ll receive an email with instructions on downloading the beta version of the next system software. In order to sign up, you’ll need a PS4 with an internet connection, and access to a Master Account. And remember — you can roll back to the previous system software at any time.
We’ll be back soon with an update on the features you can expect in the beta.

Backwards comparability with my PS3/PS2 games please! I already purchased them once, so I shouldn’t have to be required to purchase a digital copy of them on my PS4 to play them on my PS4! Nor should I or anyone have to pay a subscription fee to play our PS3/PS2 games that we already own on our PS4 via PS Now (a complete and total rip off)!

There are at least 3 things we all want in PSN!
1. Being able to change the username (User ID).
2. Being able to upload our own Logos or Photos as Avatar (And not as Profile Photo).
3. Folders to add friends! Being able to add Friends to Folders (Similar to the folders of the games we have today).
I would pay for the first two options. Take our suggestions into account! And everyone will be happy!

I always love trying beta software and firmware, especially when it concerns something I am passionate about. I am eager to experience and help test any improvements and new features, especially if it involves the PS4 Pro. If accepted, I will gladly install it on the Pro as well as my launch base model.

Expecting disappointment as always….I hope with very low expectations that video recording will be fixed cuz since 4.00 update the videos are being cut in the middle without a trace of what causes that…its always 15 seconds,that really needs a fix cuz 15 seconds could be that great moment you wanted to record.Plus when you get out of the share menu while inside a game it starts recording only after 15 seconds as well…while the old share started recording as soon as you quitted the share menu.
Also please allow to add the TV e Video icon to a folder…thats the worst thing on PS4 and I really want to get rid of that.

External support is long overdue. Maxed out my 2tb. Had to start buying xbox one games. If you wanna sell games, you need external hard drive support.
