  • So uncharted 4 will look even better? Awesome! Don’t know how that’s possible but Awesome nonetheless.

    • It probably won’t look better, it didn’t say every game has better graphics it said they will have higher and more reliable frame rates, I wouldn’t count on better graphics. Maybe better lighting at best

    • Oh true but why would they add the infamous games their so old I thought they would add overwatch.

    • It’ll run at a higher resolution = better graphics. The other dude has no idea what he’s talking about.

    • HDR support is where it will shine most and yes it will look much more amazing!

    • It blows my mind that it could get better

    • Yeah, it already looks amazing. On Pro it will look ridiculously good.

    • EmperorKorea is an idiot. Higher resolution does not mean better graphics. A GameCube game can be played in higher resolution, and the graphics would not look any better… Moron. Anyways lighting, more vibrant colors, more stable fps, and of course the higher res. can indeed give off a better appeal. I’m for sure looking forward to this.

    • He’s not wrong nor a moron. Higher resolution makes games look much better and cleaner. A GC game would look much better with a higher resolution, haven’t you ever used the Dolphin emulator on PC? Also why do you think PS2 games on PS4 look much better? That’s right, higher rendering resolution.

    • You um… do realize what graphics are correct? Please tell me how more appealing resolution makes a games graphics better? A emulator makes a game look current Gen is what you are basically saying…

    • Also please tell me how higher rendering resolution in a game makes the pixel count higher? Or has anything do with the pixels in a video game in general? Please don’t support a moron if you are one.

    • He’s actually not wrong. Higher resolution does cleanup clarity of the image by having a denser array of pixels. Even if they are 1 pixel = 4, they render the pixels with the check board filter, allowing for crisp coloring on each 4 grid pixel instead of it being blue *4, it’s blue catty-cornered with the other 2 blended with surrounding pixel colors.

Regardless of the rendering though. The image is crisper with more density.

    • Yeah, I do know what “um” graphics are. Resolution s a graphical property.

“please tell me how higher rendering resolution in a game makes the pixel count higher? Or has anything do with the pixels in a video game in general?”

What? Rendering resolution is literally the number of pixels. e.g 1080p= 1920×1080= 2,073,600 pixels. And you go around calling people morons when you don’t even have basic understanding. Hahahaaa.

    • I have created much controversy. Frame rates all though don’t “Officially” make graphics better It really compliments the game and makes it feel smoother and better looking. Key word “feel”.So even though it doesn’t politically make graphics better it still makes the game look better nonetheless.

    • You talk your own lingo. 1st party content? Talk like gamers not like industry.

    • Can we play ps4 games in the ps4 pro…?

    • Yes all pro games will play fine on stardard ps4

    • Oops… and yes standard ps4 games will play on pro, sorry

    • Yes, HDR is going to look amazing when used correctly on most games, but keep in mind…. you DON’T need a PS$ Pro for that. The PS4 “old” already supported HDR a few weeks before the Pro.

    • Even if Uncharted 4 is being rendered at 1080p on the Pro the game can still look better…

If you guys want to argue, you really gotta realize that theoretically either side could be correct, but theoretically has to be implemented by developers.

I’m not sure how much better Helldivers is going to look on the PS4 pro. It could be minor it could be amazing.

4k on a 32inch computer monitor? might not really make a difference on a couch sitting back a bit.

4k on a 65 inch monitor with 4 player splitscreen? Probably amazing by comparison.

    • Soif we keep on upgrading our ps4 we will reach the pro standard

    • A good entertainment is good people luck looser at homes or station house protect like new countries

    • Please make a patch for Mirrors Edge Catalyst!!!

  • I hope gta gets it.

  • CTRL+F Bloodborne

  • Where is Battlefield 1 on this list?????

  • This is a very promising list – it matters a lot to me that the Pro’s features will be exploited by older games

    • I could not agree more. :) I never did finish infamous second son for some odd reason. It’ll be nice to not only go back to a great game to finish it, but to see the improved quality of the game.

  • Guys this doesn’t meant better graphics for all these games, some game will but it’s most likely going to be better and more reliable frame rates for all the games

    • Actually it will. Higher frame rate, graphic increase. Look at specs on pro vs ps4. I’m just trying to help. Learn the tech then comment.

    • What the actual hell is all this srupidity coming from? Breezy explain to me how fps makes the pixel count any better? Also it’s not just tech. It’s also health science. The eye can only see up to what is considered 60 fps. so of course that can make something more appealing. That doesn’t make a older game look current Gen what so ever. WHY do you think remasters are even made? How about go to YouTube and learn some things on pixels and game engines. LEARN before you comment huh?

    • Konzo you need to learn a tool for your toolset.

I think you took the least charitable interpretation of what was said. Basically you straw-manned.

A comma doesn’t mean an = sign. So it’s very unlikely breezy meant that higher frame rates will improve the pixel counts.

The 40-60 fps is considered a myth. It’s meaningless. Our eyes don’t really see in “frames” per say, but the human body chemistry can only react so fast, so there is an upper limit. However PC Elitists are now talking about 120hz as an acceptable framerate for multiplayer, and now 60 is too low. Professional starcraft players tone down the graphics in order to push the limits of their capabilities without distracting particle effects, and fluff.

Really at the end of the day Konzo you need to be more charitable and not assume the worst possible interpretation, and also calm down. You’re far too angry and there’s no reason for it.

  • I thought Battlezone was supposed to be on the list. And Robinson, which comes out next week.

  • EU blog says Battlefield 1 and US doesn’t. Wtf

  • What about Overwatch?

  • When will these updates be available? from 10 Nov or gradually? Also would the games look better with the updates on the current PS4 with HDR TV?

    • According to the article, the games on the list will be ready for Pro on launch day. Also if a game adds HDR support then that will also be available on standard PS4.

  • Also, not listed here but The Witness (aka 2016 GOTY ;-) will be getting a Pro patch sometime in November, with an option for Native 4K resolution if you have a 4K TV:

  • No division? I hope it was worth jumping the gun maybe should of waited for a drop in price?

  • Does Ps4 pro come with a 4k tv??

    • Yes, it will also come with 5 bars of pure gold, 10 rolex watches, and $10000 in cash.

    • You’ll probably see deals the other way around. 4K TV that comes with Pro or with discount on Pro.

    • You can get 4k t.v.s for like $200-400.

4k T.V.s are just a big marketing scam at the moment. Next year it will be a much better time to research and buy 4k t.v.s cause right now everything is just sort of… wonky… Things need to be fleshed out, you have to firmware update your t.v.s, and they really aren’t designed for gaming specs so they add a bunch of extra latency…

I’d argue your games will probably look better in 1080p than in 4k. Maybe I’m wrong, but at the end of the day I think the extra things they can do graphically with the extra horse power outweighs the boost in resolution short of having 50+ inch screens you sit right in front of… You should probably just sit a few feet back anyway.

  • This is truly awesome keep it up PlayStation.

  • i did pre oder in GameStop of PS4Pro… waiting my precious…

  • Can’t wait to pick mine up, been wanting to pair it up with the PSVR to bring out the better performance overall. Any word if it is possible to squeeze a SATA III, 15mm harddrive to replace the one it’s shipped with? Or perhaps plug in memory expansion? I know, one can dream right? Lol. Come on Sony, step up your game :D

  • Oh ya Thanks playstation for selling me the crappier version of ps4 3 years ago. I’ll gladly spend more money on a system that will be around for what like 3 years. I think i’ll use my 500 bucks toward maybe a graphics card or something. Then in 3 or 4 years you will be up to par with it.

    • Those $500 graphics cards didn’t suddenly appear either. There used to be floppy disks before blu-rays. Before LCD there was CRat monitors, bro. They just used it for their marketing advantage that’s all. U could have ended up waiting and playing on PS3 for 3 additional years before getting PS4 pro. They just doing what every other company does. Doing profit, buying pro or not buying is your option.

    • Lol, drop 500 on a graphics card. Don’t forget you’ll need a cpu to run that card. A psu to power it, a mobo compatible with it, the ram and everything else you are going to need. More than 500 bucks. And in 2 years, it will all be but replaced with newer and better gear..so really…who you trying to fool?

  • Games looking or performing better is just icing on the cake for me – PS4 games already look pretty damn awesome. I’m getting a Pro just so I can play games like Witcher 3 without my launch-day PS4 sounding like a jet engine!

    • PREACH
I’ve tried everything but re-applying the thermal paste, my launch PS4 is an actual jet engine after long play sessions or intensive games like FFXIV

  • I really can’t be excited until I see some comparisons between PS4 and PS4 Pro running on a standard 1080p HDTV.

All these blog posts, all these games, the most powerful console, and ZERO examples of this.

    • Gamers aren’t the smartest bunch. These companies know that all they need is Hype to sell their products.

    • This isn’t for you.

The PS4 pro is for people who just like to have the nicest things because it makes them feel warm and squishy inside.

Or it’s for people who probably should be PC players. If I get a PS4 pro it’ll be me buying one off of a friend, and selling my current PS4 to another friend. That would be the only way I see me upgrading.

  • No F1 2016? :(

  • I know CD Project has already said they won’t touch Witcher 3 for this PS4 Pro upgrade, but I really would like to see it showing up on this list.

  • Like with PSVR, Sony should make all games for Pro Required to be 60FPS when in 1080p. It would give MILLIONS of people a reason to upgrade. I would buy it for sure. And it would have people want to get a Sony 4K TV more once they have a Pro. It would be free marketing too that a game runs better being 60FPS. And you get the 4K version of the game too at either 60 or 30 FPS. Everyone wins then… with the way it is now, hardly anyone cares for it (only the few 4K TV owners) and it’s getting ridiculed like crazy.

    • that is a surefire way to guarantee to never get another elder scrolls, fallout, insomniac, or any MMO onto ps4 again.

    • Not possible, as it would divide the multiplayer community and lose any good faith they’ve gained with gamers this generation. Why would anyone ever buy their next console if they knew it would be obsolete within a couple of years.

  • Sony you NEED to specify which of these are also going to be enhanced in 1080p mode instead of just 4K! Because thanks to you Sony, I cannot buy a new 4K TV. Why? Because I spent $5000 on a 65″ Sony XBR 1080p full array local dimming TV in 2011!

  • Wait a sec, where is Thumper? I thought that title was confirmed by the dev.

  • Will this make Just Cause 3 playable??

  • Next games we need supported are the order 1886, batman arkham night, bloodborne and star wars battlefront as well oh and until dawn.

    • Battlefront would look crazy good on PS4 Pro! I hope it gets a patch, but since a new one is coming next year, I’m thinking it might not get a patch. I really hope it does though!

  • What happened to Battlefield 1? on European blog it says that’s a launch title. US blog doesn’t include it, and doesn’t even mention it getting a patch at all in 2016. IS it, or ISN’T it. This is not clear.

  • I see a lot of new titles on there, I guess they all do so won’t the Lego Harry Potter Collection?

    • I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the Atari Flashbacks Collection to make the list. Atari in 4K would be a day one purchase for me.

  • Very (pleasantly) surprised to see Knack get Pro support. It was the first thing I put in my PS4 on launch day, and I’ll do the same with the Pro. So awesome that I already have about 10 of these games to test out on launch day, and good to get confirmation for The Last Guardian Pro support. Just one more week!

  • Playstation TV – PS4 Pro Remote Play Benefits?

This is a great list of games. The list is helping to get me very interested in getting a PS4 Pro.

I’d love to have an issue addressed regarding the Playstation TV and the PS4 Pro. Will remote play to the Playstation TV from the PS4 Pro be improved compared to remote play from the standard PS4? If so, it what ways? There is a lot of competition to use my home’s main TV, so I use remote play to a secondary TV a lot . If there are meaningful improvements in the remote play experience, it could be the key to getting me to upgrade to a PS4 Pro.

    • I did see the benefits for remote play outlined somewhere (higher resolution and frame rate). Check the FAQ maybe?

  • That explains the update’s i got for Infamous:SS and First Light.

  • Will the ps4 pro use its crossfire graphic cards to give a 60 fps rate on 1080p in Battlefield 1 or still use dynamic scaler and only one graphic card ,or will render it on native 4k or use the sony’s upscaling technolgies to scale from from 1800p or 1900p to 4k?

  • Hello Games should announce HDR support for No Man’s Sky only to not actually support HDR so they can add another lie to their list.

  • I can’ wait. I hope that these games, some from Sony, some from other publishers also see the updates:

    Until Dawn (original version)
    GTA 5
Witcher 3 (I know that the developer said no, but maybe convince them)
    MGS 5

  • Please Sony, give Bloodborne three visual mode(4K,60FPS and Enriched Visuals) just like Rise of the Tomb Raider

  • Your question section closed for comments. Two questions:

    1) The Q&A talks about Remote play on PC and other devices but not Vita. Will the Remote Play be somewhat improved on VIta?

    2) I am debating as to whether keep my old PS4 as the second PS4 in the house. How many PS4 (including Pro) can I have on an account? Will PS Plus games be able to be played on both PS4s?

    • I would assume that it will be a universal improvement in some small ways across all remote play devices, that said, the Vita is still limited to its own restraints. As far as accounts go, as long as you are CURRENTLY logged into a ps4, you have access to your content from any ps4, so just log in and play, need to be in a different room? log out of that ps4, log into your other ps4 and everything is there, accessible and ready. Hope this helped!

  • 85+ games with PS4 Pro support in just the first two months? Great job Sony with designing the system so that adding Pro support is an easy task for developers.

  • Although it’s nice to see those games getting upgraded for to meet the capabilities of the PS4 Pro, I’m still undecided whether or not I should get a 4K TV now or wait until at least next year, therefore I might not get the PS4 Pro until I get a 4K TV (even though I already have a PS4 that I have since it’s midnight launch at Best Buy).

    • I would say wait until Black Friday if you want one this year, there will be a bunch of great deals, so you will save lots of money, and its only like 2 weeks after the launch of the Pro.

  • My launch PS4 with an upgraded 2TB hdd is full so I was really hoping the pro would have a bigger hdd slot that would support a bigger driver. But since it does not I think I will just keep my original ps4 and get a Nyko Data Bank and put a 4TB or 8TB sshd into it.

Sony please enable external HDD support for games. Until you do you push me (and others as well) into buying Multi-platform games on my Xbox One, which has a 4TB external drive attached to it.

    • WOW, do you really play 2 TB of games consistently, to the point where you can’t delete anything? Not to say anything about external HDD support (more features is always better imo), but I can’t fathom 2000 Gigs of data that I NEED to have installed. Just delete the bloated 60 gig + titles you don’t frequently play!

  • What? No Bloodborne? Not even announced as a soon-to-come? I want it even prettier though :(

    • I would say wait until From has finished their work on Dark Souls 3, then we might see some enhancements, I would love to see pro enhancements on Bloodborne!

  • Define enhanced? Like will Drive Club VR look closer to Drive Club if playing on a PS4 Pro? Do these games get more than just an HDR face lift? Don’t get me wrong I care about HDR way more than 4K enough to look for a 1080p HDR display, but this doesn’t sway me to get a PS4 PRO. A system that doesn’t feel all that pro to begin with. No Pro Controller, No Pro features like Backward Compatibility, while it would be nice 4K Bluray Support isn’t even included. Do any of these games get or even need an FPS boost? What does this do for the 1080p gamer while they save up for a 4K HDR display?

Too many unanswered questions and Sony seems really unsure how this product should sell or even why it should exist. 3 Years into my PS4’s life and I’m shrugging to myself thinking “Maybe this means Backward Compatibility on PlayStation 5 can become a reality, but with PC like enhancements”. This leads to maybe I hsould just wait for a PS5.

    • Need for this thing to be released first. Check done reviews and comparison of the two. im happy with my ps4 so far. Is getting old and struggle to run some games. But still, it keeps me entertained. Unless the difference between the two is noticeable and with solid 60fps for most games, it’s not worth the upgrade.

  • If you could talk to FROM Software to do a Pro patch for Bloodborne and Dark Souls III, as well as talk to Square Enix to do a Pro patch for Final Fantasy XIV…that would be great. :)

    • I think, (and this is nothing more than my guess) FF14 should run better on the pro even without an update, and here is why:
When you go to a crowded area like Quarrmill, Idylshire, or in a 24 man raid, there will be some dips in frames, this shouldn’t happen with the increased power in the Pro.
Also large encounters should have less dips in frames.
Better connection capabilities will result in little to no server latency.
A pro patch would be great though for both games, just comparing when I played 14 on ps4 to pc, it wouldnt be much work for them and the game would look amazing. I do think we will se this in the future, but probably not until closer to Stormblood or 3.5 at the earliest.

  • Please offer 60fps option for more games…Alot of people like better running games.

  • Where is Bloodborne? That is hands down my favorite games of this generation and the fact that this game doesn’t even have a Pro patch is absolute madness. It needs a patch to run the game at 60fps. It can even be unlocked but it NEEDS 60fps.

    • The arguments I’ve seen as to the why have been that
      1) Little incentive: From has an award winning killer game, Pro support would be a fan service move rather than a sell
      2) Busy: Still working on DS3 content

That said, I’m all for pro support, I just understand why its not the priority

  • Yeah but where’s Rayman legends on PS4 pro for 4K resolution and HDR support please and don’t forget about Skylanders games

  • Destiny, Fallout, GTA V, uhhh GOAT SIMULATOR?

    • Bungie has already said they have no plans to update Destiny at this time. Presumably they are focused primarily on Destiny 2s preparation for launch next year, as well as the events planned for the coming months (hopefully they are better than FotL!)

  • It’s unfortunate that not every game can at least take advantage of the new GPU to give itself a performance boost.

I understand that for games that have not been patched to PS4 Pro, the system will go into a compatibility mode. Users should have the option to turn this compatibility mode off, and let us decide which games work well and which ones do not.

Make it an advanced option and provide a disclaimer that not all games will run in a desirable way. This whole thing about multiplayer is a canard as it had never been an issue on PC where different players have different hardware.

  • Hi mr. Dutton, i love the PS4, and will be getting the PS4 Pro on launch, but how can you make a ridiculus claim that the Pro is the most powerful console in the world. It is far, far from even being in the ballpark. And no I am not reffering to the already obselete xbox Scorpion either. I know they claim thats going to be the most powerful. Well your both wrong. Sony and Microsoft seem to forget that although they are the biggest and most popular brands, they arent the only fish in the sea. While not the most popular option, Steam machines especially some like the Alienware Alpha are small compact gaming consoles that have a smaller footprint then the ps4 but can have specs that match high end pc’s. They are the most powerful consoles in the world, and even when the Scorpio comes out they will continue to be the most powerful. Sorry to burst your bubble. Btw Steam has like 10-20,000 + games and most of them are a lot less expensive then playstation 4 games. Like I said though i love the exclusive games that are on the PS4 and Ill be getting the Pro at launch, even if its not the most powerful console on the block.

    • Yes true Steam Machines can easily out-spec both the ps4 pro and the xbox scorpio, but you also seem to forget that the price points of those machines are in the $1000+ range.

As currently configured, the PS4 Pro beats the cheaper steam machines by not only being technically better but also cheaper.
