  • I’ve wanted Hohokum for a while now. I’ll guess I’ll bite!

    • I wanted it and bought it, expecting a peaceful puzzle experience. It was peaceful, but I didn’t dig the non-objective nature of it. There’s stuff to figure out, but I just don’t want to take as long as the game requires do it. So I didn’t get far.

  • Another week of nothing good on sale

    • You cray. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture looks dope! I just bought it. I’m about to have fun!

    • Welcome to PlayStation. I see you’re brand new. Let me recommend the following games.

      Rogue Legacy

Those games I’d recommend at full price, and most of them are cross-buy.

I see you are at level 4 with only a few games/trophies. These games will really change your mind on how much fun you can have for how little they cost. N++ is a really hard very basic looking platformer with something like 1,000 level.

Rogue Legacy is a real challenging game with tight controls and addictive comedic craziness as you try to go through a castle, and every time you die your offspring attempt to carry forward and you buy castle parts to boost abilities your future generations will have access to as you slowly try to amass enough skill and strength to finish the game.

Soundshapes is just music, platforming, and pure awesomeness. People would have been glad to pay $50 for a game that good during the PS2 era. Journey is just a game of it’s own pace entirely.

    • Nothing you like, maybe.

But Journey, Sound Shapes, Rogue Legacy, and Stealth Inc are all fantastic.

Journey is, in my eyes, one of the best games ever made.

  • Lol it’s so bad this week your talking about next weeks sale

    • OR…. they’re explaining how this week’s sale relates to next week’s event.

God, PS Blog commenters are self-entitlement overdrive.

    • You’re an idiot. Next week isn’t a sale, its an event for new game releases. The games on sale are from events from the previous years.

    • I’m just hoping to see the Ratchet and Clank, Sly, and Jak and Daxter HD collections (the PS3 versions) go on sale.

    • You Eyeballing me is a brand new person to Playstation. Only level 4. Only 90 trophies. Please don’t be too harsh on ’em. He’s not used to the upcomming greatness that awaits.

  • Bad sale for long time PS+ members… most of these have been PS+ in the past.
Sale prices aren’t great….most of the games have been cheaper.

  • Most of this garbage has been on sale before with a better price as it is now even the ps plus discount is a joke as much as it is Sony can give the people more of a discount then that and to the kids that commented to my message I don’t care what event Sony has next week trash is still trash

    • Ok I get that you’re new, but did you spend $300 just to trash talk and not enjoy your system?

I guarantee you that if you played all of those games for 30 minutes, at least one of them you’d buy even if it came off of sale, because those games are great.

If none of these games appeal to you at all… Then sorry, one day you’ll get good enough at games to appreciate challenge and fun. This is not a bad lineup. The deals aren’t the best, but… they’re still good games at least half of them worth owning even at full price.

    • Makai, give it a rest. This is likely someone who’s primary account was banned from commenting, so they are using an alternate account.

  • I feel like the Plus prices and the Sale prices are supposed to be switched.

@Kishnbe – Maybe for longtime subbers but not all of them have been free.
    + Everybody’s Gone To Rapture
    + Journey
    + N++
    + The Swapper
    + Deathspank: The Baconing

^ These one haven’t been on Plus from my knowledge but yes they’ve had low sales before but maybe not everyone picked it up when they could or wanted to. People also more then likely missed the sales or just got a PS4. Gotta factor these things in. Then again, if anyone wanted any of these games, they would’ve gotten it when it came out.

    • Journey and The Swapper have both been on Plus.

    • But EGTTR, N++ and DeathSpank 3 haven’t

    • So 2/3 of the items on sale having been free on Plus before meets the criteria of “most of these have been PS+ in the past,” which is what @Kishnabe said and @shadysaiyanz erroneously tried to correct.

Or is my math wrong? I count nine titles, with only three that weren’t previously free on Plus (though I’ll say, Journey was free a LOOOONG time ago, so I can understand why some people are missing it – and if you haven’t played it, you should).

    • Might have been wrong on Journey – could have sworn it was free, but can’t find that documented. Always thought I got it free, maybe I just got it on a really cheap deal.

The Swapper was free, though. That’s still more than half.

    • Journey has not been free. You got early access to Journey one month I think, and if you bought Journey on the PS3 you got it free on PS4 when they released it on PS4, so those probably confused you.

Who cares if these games have been given away for free though?

That just means if you don’t own them, now’s a chance to grab them not at full price. It’s not like they’re going back on free for plus ever (as far as we can tell) so what does it matter if a game has been free before?

    • @FeistFan: You’ve been a long time Plus subscriber and received those games, good for you. Does that have to mean gamers new to PlayStation, don’t have the right to see those titles for sale? One thing should not preclude the other.

  • Hey Andy, I believe the “Sale Price” and “Plus Price” are reversed.

  • Excited about getting The Baconing. This title has never, ever, been on sale before. Bought the first one in December when the price was dropped. I hope EA also drops the price of Thongs Of Virtue soon…

  • It’s rather stunning how many of these I own because they ended up as free Plus titles – almost all of them, except Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and N++.

Makes me wonder if it might be better to wait, because the odds are good that within six months those will be free on Plus, too.

  • Indie Sale ? c’mon the people need more AAA games on sale.

    • You got that right but Sony only put them indie games on sale

    • lol Wow, were you guys on vacation since the E3 sale? The sales since June were on point.

    • They’ve dang near put all the AAA games on sale in the past month or 2.

I mean the sale 2 weeks ago and even God of War 3 and some of the stuff of last week were really good. If you guys don’t have a backlog, you don’t have a right at this point to be coming on here and saying “These sales are terrible”

They can’t put every good game on amazing sale 52 weeks of the year. Plus there were recent price drops with games like Infamous for $20, Bloodborne for $20, Infamous First Light for $15, Dead Island, Dishonored, Helldivers, Shadow of Mordor, PvZ, Several Resident Evil games, Saint’s Row, The Last of Us, Until Dawn, Wolfenstein Old Blood, Devil May Cry…

So many games all under $20… where is your backlog! Go build one!

  • Hey, the Sale Price and the Plus Price are switched around. You may want to fix that ;)

  • What a horrible sale. I’ll be picking up Journey, though. Missed it when it was on sale a few weeks ago.

  • Can I just say KUDOS to Andy and the team at Playstation for doing such a great job bringing us such great sales throughout the year. Although sometimes theres nothing for me, I am consistently finding and buying things I want at hard to resist prices. Although one game has eluded me for way too long and that little gem is Sine Mora, the sidescrolling shooter from the excellent Grasshopper Manufacture! Once again, thank you!

  • You put the Sales Price & Plus Price in the wrong column :3

  • As a long time Sony owner (going back to PS1), I realize how much people will complain about everything. We just had a two week Mid Year sale and the Flash sales have been good lately. I’m sure that the upcoming July sale won’t disappoint. People seem to forget great past sales, and just look for any reason to complain. Bunch of pessimists here.

    • It’s disgusting, really. They have to be more open minded and realize that not every sale will have something they want, especially if they already have the games on sale from prior sales/purchases.

    • You’re 100% right but that always happen and it’ll keep on happening…if there is something the world will never lack is people flooded with negativism and with 0 sense of acknowledgement.

  • I you haven’t bought N++ do it now. Such a great game with endless gameplay thanks to thousands of premade levels and endless user created ones. Considering EGTtR but my PS4 is dead atm.

  • Since almost all these titles have been free to plus will the same happen soon if I buy everyone gone to the rapture looks like a nice game but scared to buy it than 2 months later it’s free.

    • Well, we just got Gone Home last month, so who knows if they’ll do that anytime soon. Yet, we got Galak-Z one month and then Dead Star the next.

    • Could be next month, 2 months from now, never… It could be free on the PS5.. Sometimes you just have to bite.

I would say go ahead and buy it, but with the junk they pulled with Saint’s Row Gat out of Hell, and then free for plus announced 2 days later, I can’t blame your skepticism.

I feel like I have enough walking simulators to play that I’m not really interested in Rapture. Maybe once I get some joy out of the $3 Goat Simulator MMO DLC.

  • Seriously why in the hell is DEATHSPANK 3 always on sale one way or another but never DEATHSPANK 1&2 !?!?

  • It may not stand out from that list of great games, but I’ve gotta once again recommend The Swapper. If you liked games like Limbo and/or Braid, you should really give it a shot :-)

    • I’m pleased that, of the insanely small handful of games you have actually tried, you have played a good one. Congrats!

  • Thanks for the effort but unfortunately a worthless sale for long-time Plus subscribers.
There are only 3 games to choose since all others are already in library due to previous months’ IGC lol.

    • That’s fine, some sales will cater to new people, others to long-time fans. Some to fans of shooters, others to rpg fans.

I’m just happy to see Journey on sale again so more people can be exposed to one of the most unique and amazing gaming experiences around.

  • What do you guys think the games for PLAY will be this year? I’m personally hoping ABZU is on the list, I’ve been anticipating it since it was first announced.

    • Crazymanwalking1

ABŽU comes out the 2nd of August these play events usually last 4 weeks so its practically guaranteed a spot in the promo

  • Does anyone know if the DLC from sound shapes are crossbuy in PS3, PS Vita and PS4? Never bought DLC before

  • Might grab N++. I played the hell out of the free version during work long ago, and had tons of fun with N+ on the 360. Only seems right to finally continue the trend, or should I wait for N+++ ? :P

  • The prices aren’t very good but the games are…already got 90% of them though so waiting on the next sale.

  • Crazymanwalking1

Man I was hoping to buy something but i own everything on that list

Now I’m just looking forward to the Play 2016 promo
    ABŽU please!

  • Hey SONY, are we EVER going to be seeing a resurgence on 3D Games led by Sony, like we saw on the PS3? With PS4 NEO coming out soon, you should be able to provide 1080p gaming in 3D smooth as silk, and it would look tops on my new 65″ Sony Ultra 4K 3DTV set with Curved screen!

I now have over 350 3D Movies on BluRay and Digital combined, and somewhere around 150 3D games on PS3/PS4, but I crave MORE! Bring us the goods as Hollywood has pretty much confirmed that 3D is here to stay and is not slowing down as there are more and more 3D Movies coming out all the time and they look completely outstanding! However, games look better than that, and seem to be 10x more immersive as I can PLAY in a field of REAL DEPTH, which makes me want to play the PS3 MORE than my mostly flat games on the PS4.

Listen to your fans Sony, and bring us the goods! If your giving us a more powerful machine that can easily handle the 3D games, then at LEAST give us the Exclusive games with 3D OPTIONS, like the Grand Turismo series does and Motorstorm Apocalypse and Motorstorm 3D Rift, which happen to be the MOST amazing racing games on earth due to the DEPTH in them. Bring the DEPTH back to your games Sony!
