Attention, PlayStation Plus members! We have another set of great PS4 games for you to enjoy, just in time for the holidays. Whether you prefer a good ol’ fashioned romp through a dungeon, or maybe a light-hearted story of adventure, we’ve got you covered with two reimaginings of classic gaming goodness.

Up first is Gauntlet: Slayer Edition on PS4. Plunge into the dungeons on your own or with friends in this action-packed RPG. Face monstrous hordes of enemies, prowl crumbling catacombs for gold, and unearth incredible weapons. All in the name of fame and fortune!

Also on offering is the critically-acclaimed first chapter in the new King’s Quest series, titled A Knight to Remember. Journey through the memories of King Graham as he recounts his adventures to become a knight of Daventry.

Sony has been gauging its customers with its half baked subsciption service since way back on the PS3. I am skeptical of their marketing practice. This is why I rarely buy their markdown content… Whos to say that Far Cry 4 or Battlefield Hardline wont be free in January? With their marketing how it is, I hardly see the benefits of keeping plus. In the case of Gauntlet, I bought it on sale, and because I did, its free for people who didnt…

    I expected better for Christmas…

    Were are the AAA games? Surely some of them are old enough to let go? (Black Flag, Knak, etc?)
    That leaves only SSX for me… I didn’t want to play it first, but meh, there’s nothing else for me.

    Please give us more big titles (complete ones, no chapters or anything, please).

    I’ve never posted before but this lineup and past months lineup have been awful for ps4 PlayStation needs to get back to a fair balance of Indies and AAAs!!! Come on guys step up and make better decisions, whoever runs the PS plus division needs to be let go!! ASAP!!

    I think it’s nice that the Ps3 and vita are getting decent free games but what’s the deal with the ps4? When will we get some decent games? I’m a bit jealous of all the offers that Xbox gets.

    I’m very happy with this month’s line up! I have been wanting King’s Quest for a while. I almost bought the first episode last week. Thankfully, I held off. Once again, plus has delivered on another indy game on my wish list. I’m incredibly excited to play this game today.

    I’m also excited about Freedom Wars and Far Cry 3. This is a solid month on gaming! Thanks!

    I am disappointed in this game selection.. I expect better and instead we get this. I guess ill have to wait for Jan 2016 for something better to come to PS Plus if it is better.

    Kings Quest – Chapter One – some how listed as a “full game”, yet a single chapter is not a full book, strange.

    Is the first chapter considered the “full game” and the higher chapters DLC? Is the first chapter significantly longer than the others?

    Does PSPlus now count a partial game (you know those things that used to be called “demos”) a full game?

    Sony really missed out, I mean they could have spread out the walking dead into 3 separate months (two episodes, er “full games” per month).

    330pm on the eastern seaboard, gotta be honest i really thought the games would be on by noon today. is it just me or does sony tell us what games were getting earlier when there not awful and later like a kid with a bad report card when their sure were going to collectively lose our $#!t if their terrible games, i’m looking forward to farcry ive read its nothing like the other but more like duke nukem and kung fury had a baby, i’m not a sports game video game fan (i’d prefer to play real football and basketball rather than on a playstation) but ive read that ssx is insanely custumizable which appeals to my love of micromanagement

    Like many others I am super disappointed i pay for your online services and this is what I get instead of paying for this I could have picked up a few games off the play store this is a rip off I have always supported Sony and have gotten many people to change over from Microsoft and this is what you give us very disappointed maybe its time to give Xbox a try

    When will PS4 get a AAA title. Not to be picky but i’m sick of getting indie games while PS3 users get great AAA titles. I know they are the so called veterans of Playstation but still i think that PS users should start getting better PS Plus games. But still a game is a game, so thanks Playstation and have a wonderful Christmas.

    Seriously? I understand that you’re giving these games to us for free, but step it up! This is a competition! Xbox One owners get much less obscure indie games as well as the occasional AAA title. We PS4 owners get the occasional popular indie game that was already on sale the day before we got it for free. (Shout out to the people who got completely shafted by buying them) Is it really too much to ask to get something we actually WANT at some point?

    The “free” games have been terrible for a long time now and I will not be renewing my subscription, at least for a few months. I can last without going on multiplayer until PS+ offers triple A titles more frequently.

    Honestly, especially since it’s Christmas time, this is the most disappointing set of games I have ever seen on PS plus since I became a member 3 years ago. Gauntlet is the only game I see with any sort of value, (Not saying Kings Quest is bad, but just the first chapter…. seriously? Baiting people into a future purchase much?) the games on PS3 and Vita are mediocre at best, and the lack of cross buy games sucks (though tolerable if the games are good.) Overall, this month’s lineup sucks, but on the bright side, at least there’s Gauntlet. :)

    It’s really surprising to me that this is what we’re getting. This is the month of the year where everyone is getting a PS4, why the heck wouldn’t Sony want something flashy to get their new install base excited to buy PS+?! It just seems like really bad marketing to give PS4 owners B and D list games in December. Especially only the first episode of a game, when historically episode 1’s almost always end up free as demos after the entire game is released. And three adventure games in a row is beyond ridiculous. I wonder if we’ll get Grim Fandango Remastered in January. It’s already a niche genre as it is. Some may love these games (myself partially included) but they aren’t crowd pleasers by any step of the imagination. And I don’t think anyone can argue that Guantlet is a mediocre title. It’s almost like Sony thought about trying to get Diablo, but decided no one would care if they picked up the dollar store version instead. I’m not angry, just disappointed.

      If u on asia psn, i tink it is not up yet. If there is ever one thing that i can agree with PS haters is that Sony treat asian players like a 2nd class citizens especially on PS3. US playstation store got better free games than asia playstation store last time. Shame on u Sony….

      Xbox is definitely better in that regard. All players from different countries, same thing u get.

    King’s Quest isn’t a game I’m opposed to, but it is a game that will likely end up permanently free for everyone like a lot of the episodic game’s chapter 1’s end up. That is what bug’s me. Give me the full 5 chapters please.

    Gauntlet… Some find it cool. I am not one of them. It looks a pretty bland dungeon crawler to me. I’m not a fan of games that pretty well require co-op to be fun.

    It is a pretty lackluster PS4 lineup.

    Far Cry: Blood Dragon isn’t bad, but it is only really good for a very select group of people. I am part of that group, but I know plenty of people who don’t like it at all.

    SSX… Really… It’s sports, not the most popular game genre, and it is based on a sport that isn’t even that popular. How niche are you going with this PS3 lineup Sony?

    I said it talking about SSX, but yeah… Two games that are repetitively niche.

    I hear good things about Freedom Wars, but I don’t really know that much.

    Rocketbirds… I am sorry if you like this game, but it is bad. It feels like it is being indie. No game should FEEL indie whether it is indie or not.

    It’s Vita titles.

    All-in-all, another disappointing month Sony.

      I just want to say also… I wasn’t there from the start (I couldn’t be sadly), but I have been a part of plus for a bit. I’ve been a part of it since before it was a required service. I payed for this service because I wanted to show Sony my support, and get some cool free games while doing it. These lackluster selections are only making those like me, who have been Plus members since before PS4, quite jaded. I was totally for Plus being required for online, but it seems that because of this, you no longer want to try to win people over with the cool free games. You just seemed to try harder when it waasn’t required. Not that this surprises me. It is rather saddening though.

    Seriously? That’s the lineup for December? Wow. Since the last months have been a disappointment, I expected something better for December.

    King’s Quest is awesome, but only the chapter one? It’s like giving us a demo. PS+ members should at least have a discount if we decide to buy the pack with all chapters.

    The free games for PS+ has been worse and worse, ever since the PS4 has been released. Now that PS+ is mandatory if you want to play online, they know that no matter how bad the selection is, we will keep paying for PS+.

    Really regretting changing from xbox,ps4 is by far the worst console I’ve ever owned,after 35 years of gaming I’m at the point of giving up.Never play online so I’ll be joining in with the others who won’t be renewing this pointless subscription,Gauntlet was crap when it first came out and (essentially a demo) of kings quest…..really?,it’s a terrible series that has been critically panned since inception.Not one single decent game yet on plus for ps4.

    Just wondering, do most players pay the subscription to play online or some do it just for the free games?

    If i recalled correctly, microsoft has been charging players subscription fee just to play online ever since xbox360 while ps3 still is free to play online. Correct me if im wrong.

    Honestly most of what I see on this is people getting mad over a FREE set of games, Sony does not have to do this, they could save money on this, if you like the xbox games better get an Xbox one, it’s that simple complaining about a free service is the worst because they are giving you something free for your purchase that would otherwise still cost money, Playstation + has probably saved you more money than it has anything else with plenty of deals on games and everything else, it’s that simple they do not have to give you free games they choose to stop complaining and either get the games or don’t.

    Feedback you say? Rightyho! First comment for me here, so lets feed some back, shall we?
    Firstly, im a regular ps4 digital customer and have spent loads more than i care to count on overpriced digital games and DLC, im aware of the production processes also.
    That said, really? 2 games of the same setting? And one isn’t anything more than a demo to get you to buy the rest! The other is a poor man’s Divinity, who if youve no mates like me, will turn it off at the first level. What about some of the old games that are now “remastered” we already owned on the previous generation, yet are somehow full price again cos “oops no backwards compatibility. Soon, but not for the games we can still rinse you with!”? What of tripe like The Order? Thats a release title that was only made to show off the now dated hardware. Wasteland 2? Its not like we even OWN them either, is it? We’re just renting them so when we stop a cash flow, they cease to be playable!
    There are hardly any demos, screenshots, trailers or a description with some titles, how can anyone go off just a name?
    The UI is terrible.
    Look i know Sony havent had financial success with much else lately,not expecting miracles or free rides. Just dont treat us like idiots!

      And another thing i couldn’t add (frowns furiously at character limit)…the RAM or whatever hamstercage the ps4 ‘s temp internet explorer memory is stored in, is atrocious. It could be one page or two, it seems random but it will bail out of the simplest action with a half-assed “not enough memory.” Is anybody at sony even trying anymore? I been paying for their CEO’s midnight mistresses for long enough, do some actual bloody work on your console, damnit! I didn’t agree to pay for your coke habits too!

      Disclaimer: I have had much experience with PC/steam store and mutated from the 360 to Ps4, in fact my largest collection is on that old console. As much **** as i like to give MS, at least they have a solid, reliable interface/dashboard, some varied ERROR messages instead of just the one-error-fits-all-errors and reasonable customer rewards. It appears sony believe they’ve already won this console war and feel they don’t really need to try. Why is God of war 3 so damn expensive? Not even put on sale either? I am not a kid with mommas credit card, so money and value is important. These are digital copies, there are no production expenses, all the added profit is going straight to sony.

    I have learned from my experience. Don’t buy discounted games from PlayStation. They will eventually be free. It happened ONCE to me and I learned immediately from that mistake. I do agree that most of the games that are free on PlayStation Plus are crap. Step your game up PlayStation!

    Do you need to have Far Cry 3 main game before you can download Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon?
    I searched PSN store and only saw Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Demo and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon / Call of Juarez Gunslinger Game Pack showing up.

    Ugh, what a bunch of whining babies. Maybe you should realize that, after years of complaining about no AAA titles on PS Plus, it’s time to give up the ghost. Your concerns are unheeded, and the fact that you do this every month is testament to how moribund your perceptual skills must be.

    You get indie games with PS Plus. You get strange, one-off games with PS Plus. You get snippets of episodic games with PS Plus. You don’t really get the high end games with PS Plus. Deal with it. It’s been this way long enough that you should get the picture by now.

    Literally no one cares if you don’t like it, you entitled little brats. No one. Not. One. Single. Person. Other than you and your oh-so-fragile senses of self importance, of course.

    For $50 a year, getting significant online capabilities and a handful of indie/one-off/bizarre games that often have cross play functionality is actually a very good deal. If $50 is so precious to you that you truly feel you are being cheated by this, your financial straits must be so dire that ANY expenditure on video games is a potential risk to your livelihood and health, and I beseech you to forgo electronic entertainment until you can get your house in order.

    Gauntlet is somewhat enjoyable if you like that diablo feel. But not keen on the rest, this time last year it was injustice, a solid full ps4 game which I get use out of now… It’s Christmas sony. A little present for those who like myself haven’t strayed since first buying the original PlayStation.

    What is up with you people? All you do every single month is whine, whine and then whine some more about what bad games PS+ gives you. Did you play them before? Were they worth the price? Are you complaining just because you already played it and wanted something new? Sure, I don’t enjoy all the games every month either, but so what? As many people have already pointed out, you pay like 4-5 bucks a month for a total of six games spread across three different consoles. Blood Dragon and Freedom Wars alone make this month awesome. Trust me, find a buddy or two to go through Freedom Wars with and you’ll wake up one morning and realize it’s already January.

    If you’re so upset about the line-up, well, in the end, no one is forcing you to pay for PS+.

      I personally never wanted to be a plus member got suckered into it by ps employee. I was told I could rent resident evil 4& 5 for free as long as I want. But that’s PlayStation now they didn’t tell me that found out myself after I became a member and tried to play. I don’t care for online play or indie games that I can get free on my phone. PlayStation from what personal experience is ****** to their customers

      2-XboxLive is FREE for PCs, because they know they have NO chance in hell getting PC gamers to pay for it because PC gamers arent tools in search for instant gratification
      3-PSN is Garbage, unreliable, and down way too much, Steam is always up and Xbox live rarellly goes down and when it does, its back up immediately(see last xmas, PSN was down for over a week and XBox Live less than 2 days, mainly ONE)
      4- Bloodbourne this past month had server issues and FROMSOFTWARE took the servers down NOT $ony

      Congrats you are a clueless TOOL sticking up for a company that could care less if you were to jump off a cliff tomorrow as long as they have your money!

      You love $$$ony so much, but when have they ever loved you.

      WE DONT WANT FREE GAMES, WE WANT FREE ONLINE, KEEP YOUR SHOVELWARE AND 2.00 INDIE GAMES

      We want free online play, not pay to play online and try to distract us with **** games no one wants to play. We are complaining because they aren’t giving us what most of us want, free online play, we couldn’t give two ***** about all these crappy monthly games.
