One brutally difficult platformer, one heart-warming, coming-of-age story. This month’s PS Plus lineup has a great mix of flavors and you’ve come to the right place for the details! Starting on the first Tuesday of the month, a new lineup of free games comes to PlayStation Plus members, including Super Meat Boy and Broken Age on PS4.

Super Meat Boy will challenge even the most devoted platforming players with teeth-grinding levels, insane obstacles, horrible traps, and smiling chunks of meat. Yum! Can you stand against the gory onslaught of near-impossible tasks in Super Meat Boy? You’ll find out soon enough…

PS Plus: October 2015

If that’s a little too intense, why not point and click at things, instead? Broken Age is joining the PS Plus lineup, too! In it, guide two teenagers through strangely similar circumstances but on two different worlds. With a gorgeous soundtrack and award-winning cast, Broken Age is perfect for gamers that grew up with the adventure genre. Or people that just want to hear some jokes. Jokes are always good.

Last thing! Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!

    This is crap on crap. The idea that you want to use game with mechanics straight out of 1981 to add value to a console from 2015 is simply stupid. No more bull**** platormers, no more adventure games, please. You have the data, you know what we want, and you gave us this. Which essentially means… YOU DON’T CARE.

    As someone who doesn’t own a PS4, I have to say that I’ve been really disappointed with Plus lately. While I don’t necessarily expect a retail game every month, I do feel like the number of retail games we receive has dipped quite a bit since Plus became required for PS4 owners to play online. And while I admit that there are a lot of indie games that I never would have played without Plus, I question the choices sometime. Is there really anyone out there with any interest in it at all who hasn’t played Super Meat Boy at this point?

    I’d also appreciate a post that went into the selection of all 6 games in a little more detail so I can learn about some of the new games. Even links to the games on the PSN store would be appreciated if that is too much trouble.

    Anyways, I’d be excited for Broken Age if I didn’t already own it on PC.

      I never played super meat boy, but have always been interested about it. I’m looking forward to next month.

      Also, I still put in ~4-5 hours per week into Rocket League, that game has been simply phenomenal.

    Unbelievable. I hate the fact that i’m a part of this generation. The comments in this post show that most people are entitled. Most people even commented before they posted the full line up. Of course they’re not going to put up only 2 games. The world does not owe you anything. Get over yourselves.

      Your comment shows you do not understand the meaning of the word entitled, and that the word is not an insult.

      Yes, people ARE entitled to more for their money. Why? Because they’re paying money. The world doesn’t owe them anything, but Sony owes them a decent service in exchange for their money. And if they don’t feel they are getting that, they are well within their right to express their dissatisfaction.

    The Playstation Plus Free Games lineup just gets worse every month. I’m a fan of all types of games, “indies” included. But the seemingly endless number of games I couldn’t give two ****s about are getting really old. Where are the games people want to play. Where are the Playstation AAA and third party A launch games for PS4? Where are the remastered games? Where are the A and AA Vita games? Stop giving me games that I don’t even want to waste the space to download…

      I totally get what you are saying, man. I remember back in 2012 when games like Borderlands and Infamous 2, Saint’s Row 3, and more were free. And they have shortened the amount of games for free. I do not really care much, as I have too many unfinished games that need to be picked up again, but they should give some well known games on at least the ps3.

    Elijah Woods does voice acting in Broken Age, so it’s worth playing just to hear his sweet sweet voice. Looks like some solid games.

    So Sony makes a big deal over the 3.0 update, which was a waste of time seeing as how it gave the community nothing we asked for, and we top off the week with more indie games for free. Ok, there’s tons of gamers out there that love indie games, and that’s great, but Sony you might want to take an actual look at the community that’s dishing out money to support your company. Why can’t we see one indie and one main stream title every month for each system? Even if you can’t keep everyone happy every month, at least make an attempt. I see a lot of gamers posting up they’re done with plus, and that small amount of numbers won’t even cause you guys to bat an eye. But how many more months of dishing out junk will it take before the numbers start to pile up? Or does it come down to the fact that you already got our money, so we’re at your mercy? I know my taste in games is different than the next players, but I’ve gone months without downloading any free games, and with very little online play, I sort of feel like I’ve made a $50 donation to your company.

    There should be different versions of ps plus, 1 for multiplayer/online only, another for standard ps plus which is what this is for free indie grabs, and another for Premium Ps Plus that actually gives out good games, each version of PS plus should be different in $$$ from least expensive to most expensive… Would be a better service for 1 and for 2 it would please pretty much everyone.

      Totally agree online multi player games for me are a waste of time just never enjoyed them. Indies are cool but if your exposed to something too much you loose the appreciation for it. If anyone from so y reads these messages please contact me and I’ll be happy to talk further.

    I have all three systems, and I take advantage of Plus sales. $40-$50 a year for Plus is fine and not one of those saying cancel. With that said, disappointed this month. Specifically in the PS3 offerings. There is such a huge catalog that I would think anything at this point for Plus on the PS3 should be AAA. Kung Fu Rabbit? A game that no major outlet even reviewed when it came out 3 yo. Sad month.

    No, I’m not expecting Bloodborne for “free”. There are old PS4 games they could give out. Even this months PS3 offerings are a joke. PS3 still has a bunch of old AAA games they could give out that haven’t made it to ps plus.

    I thought about getting a PS4, But with a terrible ps+ line up for months, no backwards compatibility, and the competition has a better holiday line up, I doubt it. Maybe Sony will listen when its bleeding PS Plus customers because it wouldn’t listen in the first place.

    Everyone is complaining about PS Plus offerings but PS4 is too new to have too many Triple As yet. PS Plus has given out lots of AAAs for PS3 in the past so we just need to give it some time.

    In the meantime, we are getting some pretty great games so far like Teslagrad and Rocket League. Rocket League IS Triple A as far as I’m concerned because that game is one of the best in years!

    If PS Plus could add some cool non Triple A games in the future it’d b nice. Why not Gauntlet or Journey?

      this position would hold merit if it weren’t for the fact that the x1 is getting retail games on gwg.

      also, the ps4 isn’t that new anymore. the last generation was 8 years long, and that was the longest generation to date. if the current generation lasts just as long (unlikely, since the x360 and ps3 had cutting edge hardware at launch where the x1/ps4 launched with midgrade hardware) we’re already 25% of the way through the generation.

      it’s time for 1 retail + 1 digital, and nothing short of that is acceptable. the fact that the ps3 isn’t even getting that is just downright insulting.

    I understand you can’t please everyone. But, having your game be Super Meat Boy, a game that’s pretty old, is probably not going to please many. I’m very grateful for the indie titles, I don’t like many AAA games, but I expect them to be 2 years old at the most. Otherwise, I either wasn’t interested in it or I already have it. In this case, the latter. I really enjoyed Road Not Taken and Ollie Ollie 2, games that I probably would not have check out if it weren’t for PS+, so thank you.

      I actually have never played super meat boy, I will be trying it out for sure, but doubtful i will enjoy it. I agree with ya though, a game this old is almost pointless to put on the rotation.

    So the plus vote is a one and done? You’re gonna run out of indie games one day.. Most unimpressive yr i had on plus. Only thing that saved it was some good deals on retail games… At this point for PS4 at least, i think you should focus just on getting us great deals rather then free games… I mean this has just been platformer after platformer, indie after indie…

      I love that idea. I have resistance on vita and nobody is in multiplayer…cause its old as hell and only sells for $5 in a used game store. But is it a bad game? No. They need to bring real titles in no more indie BS.

    I commented earlier that I think an indie game on PS+ should at most be 2 years old. I take it back. 1 year. That’s as old as your + games should be. Because otherwise I either wasn’t interested or I already own it.

    SMB and filler as I see it. Tim Schafer hates gamers, so why even bother with $3.3 million Age.

    As for the rest, PS pls step up with the Indie Game Collection. SMB is good and new to PS but it’s still a 5 year old game.

    I barely get a feel of added value from this. I get more from the Plus discounts and even those aren’t up to Steam standards to mention an example.

    I think for being a Plus Member we should also get a 10% Discount on all Pre Orders too. All of Us Plus Members are getting Rear Ended and we aren’t even seeing it. They gotta start doing more things like that or they are minus one Plus Member , I don’t buy a membership because i have nothing better to buy , I buy it because i believed in Sony. I’d be happy with 10% off all Pre Orders and i would feel like the PS Plus paid off ! They should also have diff benefits for diff Plus Members subscriptions , Example , If you buy for a year you should get the 10% or even 20% off all games for the year pre orders included , 6mnth gets 10% off games but pre orders held to a mininum , say u wanted to pre order 4 games but you’d be limited to 2 etc. and the 30 day u would just get this stuff the free games to play , but you get what i’m trying to say !

    I am so tired of Indi games too! I wish we could get at least one good game each month. I’ve been playing my xbox 1 for the last month and a half because none of the games that have come out interest me. I’ve tried to get into them but I can’t. Please Sony give us some better games. I prefer PlayStation to Xbox but gotta do what you gotta do to play some good games!

    I wonder if the people complaining ever tried to play the games… both broken age and super meat boy are amazing!

    That said, I’d love to see some blockbuster games once in a while. We could get something like knack, killzone shadowfall, infamous: second son or something like that…these games are getting old already! :)

    That said, I come back to telling that indies are here to stay and they’re great games. People should give them a try and stop complaining without knowing! These guys are the future big producers, and they’re the ones who can change gaming as we know it. They have no bonds, only their own passion and will. That should be enough for people to care about them!

      They’re mediocre fun, which is why I bought 15 indie games for 1 dollar. Which is also why I’m mad at sony for releasing six of them for about 4.75 a month. I want good games, not ****.

    I have to agree with the majority here. I am really tired of the indy titles, I didn’t mind it at first but lately that’s all we get each month. How about Knack, LBP3, Killzone SF, The Order, Saints Row, Assassin’s Creed V Unity, Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham, Lords of the Fallen, Samurai Warriors 4, The Evil Within, Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition, Alien Isolation, Middle earth: Shadow of Mordor, Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments, The Last of Us Remastered, Sniper Elite 3, Bound By Flame, Wolfenstein The New Order, Murdered Soul Suspect, Watch Dogs, The Amazing Spiderman 2, LEGO The Hobbit, Infamous Second Son, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, The LEGO Movie Videogame, Thief, Need For Speed Rivals, Call of Duty Ghosts? All of the games I mentioned are below $20 and some below $15 or cheaper. I even own some of them but this would be better than getting indy titles every month that no one really wants.

    I’m not the biggest gamer but I would like to be. But it is very hard when you keep getting the same kind of game over and over. I get the games and the graphics are the same…the theme is the same. I didn’t think Grow Home would be basically Wall-E with Octodad’s controls. For someone like me that wants to get into gaming you’re not doing well…just saying. I’m waiting for Persona.

    Given the PS4 has been out for a while now, there has been a lot of titles (AAA and digital) that could easily and affordably be brought to the PS+ lineup. Even things like Infamous or Black Flag, You know, game you could possibly grab for $15 in store. Arcade titles such as Grim Fandango or Costume Quest come to mind as well, but I’m sure there are others. Super Meat Boy is a nice choice for those who haven’t played it, but the game is very old at this point, so many already have it on another system.

    This is just my two cents on the matter. I’ve not subscribed to PS+ yet as I have literally no use for it currently. PS+ freebie titles might eventually sway me, but as it stands, I don’t see any value in it for myself yet.

    To be honest, i don’t expect to get triple A games on the ps4. As a Vita owner though, i’m pretty damn happy, 4 games, 2 of which i am very looking forward to.

    Apparently people only have PlayStation plus for free games. Not the tons of other useful features they offer. Share play is freaking amazing, online storage is so useful and now they gave us even more space, playing online was free for ever I don’t blame them for charging now when every game basically has an online component. The sales they have are crazy. I got a $60 game for $12, I got Diablo 3 for like $25 with the expansion. Helldivers had a special limited edition on sale and it was all I played for like 2 months I totally got my money’s worth and more on that. I don’t get how people pay for a service with a bunch of features but only care about the free component and that’s the defining factor for it.

    I won’t complain too much, those that do should definitely cancel or let your subscription run out, then snag plus on black Friday for cheap. I don’t like all the indie titles either.. I mean, platformers really just haven’t done it for me since the days when Mario was the best thing on the block, and I still love those games, and unfortunately, many try, and many more fail to reach Mario stature. I pay 50 dollars a year, which equates to a little over 4 dollars a month. We do get good games some months, so it all pans out in my opinion…

    Don’t really care which games you select anymore. I’ve grown tired of this Indie Fest. Ever since PS4 beat XBox One, the PS+ service has been steadily declining. I can no longer recommend my friends to sign up for PS+. I won’t be renewing either. So yea, Sony you are repeating your mistakes like the PS2/PS3 era. You’ve won the battle but you thought you’ve won the war. You put all your eggs in a single basket. I can’t believe I am saying this, but maybe, JUST MAYBE, Daniel Loeb was right. And I don’t think he is.

    By the way: Sony announced two months ago you can vote for the game you want on PS+. It was all over the news. I was like a big thing. Last month you can vote! You can really vote! And then the initiative is dead.

    The actions of the current PlayStation executives are no longer logical.

      they said earlier it wouldn’t be available this month, presumably for complications getting a lineup sorted. (COuld be, like AC4 was a contender, and Ubisoft just said No, could be we’ll see it next month for November), which I assume is why they took so long to get the lineup out. I hate it when people just assume Sony can snap their fingers and give us whatever, adn they just CHOOSE to give us solid indies.
