PS Plus: Free Games for October 2015

One brutally difficult platformer, one heart-warming, coming-of-age story. This month’s PS Plus lineup has a great mix of flavors and you’ve come to the right place for the details! Starting on the first Tuesday of the month, a new lineup of free games comes to PlayStation Plus members, including Super Meat Boy and Broken Age on PS4.

Super Meat Boy will challenge even the most devoted platforming players with teeth-grinding levels, insane obstacles, horrible traps, and smiling chunks of meat. Yum! Can you stand against the gory onslaught of near-impossible tasks in Super Meat Boy? You’ll find out soon enough…

PS Plus: October 2015

If that’s a little too intense, why not point and click at things, instead? Broken Age is joining the PS Plus lineup, too! In it, guide two teenagers through strangely similar circumstances but on two different worlds. With a gorgeous soundtrack and award-winning cast, Broken Age is perfect for gamers that grew up with the adventure genre. Or people that just want to hear some jokes. Jokes are always good.

Last thing! Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!

For the full PlayStation Plus lineup this month, check the official page on PlayStation.com. (Note: the Plus page has not yet updated, so we’ve included the full lineup below. Thank you for your patience!)

  • That’s it, you crossed the line.
If you not fix this thing for this february (when my membership expires), I’m not renewing.
    This is a disaster…

  • I keep seeing comments complaining about a “full list.” Have I been missing out on free games every month? They seem like the full lists. I don’t see any extra games in the free for plus section in the store.

    • When the post went up first. It only discussed or listed the two games in the graphics, and said to follow this link for the full update. Since then the post has been edited to reveal the full list of games for October.

  • Do people think that XB1 is offering anything any better? All the AAA games these last few months Microsoft has been giving with gold are games that Sony gave us last year (or earlier this year) with Plus. They really have no reason to be competitive right now. Not to mention we’re in new release season now, they obviously want us to buy the new games not just play free ones.

Also SMB and Broken Age are fantastic games.. and kickbeat looks like a pretty interesting little rhythm game. But, I do admit chariot and unmechanical look pretty bland, and IDK why they’re giving us Kung Fu Rabbit aka a /super meat boy clone/ while also giving super meat boy itself lol..

    • Uhm, Xbox One just got Tomb Raider Definitive Edition on GWG. Which is a pretty new release. One that’s still relatively pricey to buy. Do we get anything like that for PS4? Nope.

    • @azure-lament PS+ got Tomb Raider last year, not very interested in a re-release… You’re absolutely right though that’s the best and newest deal I’ve seen on XB1 GWG as far as the game’s price at the time and recency of release. Probably part of the whole Tomb Raider 2 XB1 timed exclusive deal…

    • The people saying that Live is better probably either do not own a PS4 or own a Xbox One. I have both and they are the same. It is mostly indie titles on both consoles and if it is not an indie title it is a title that has been given on the other. Usually Playstation gets the title first. No always. A good example was Playstation 4 got Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain and then the following month Xbox One got Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain. Also PS3 got Tomb Raider before Definitive Edition came out, but we just got Temple of Osiris which costs the same right now.

Really whatever to both right now though.

  • jgrizzle358
than please explain why the xbox one get better games? arent there more PS4 PS+ customers?
its thre 20 years anniversairy, in november its 2 year ps+ and what do we get?
    shovelware? indies again?
how is that possible that xbox one get walking dead, assassins creed, tomb raider and rayman legends?

    • Simple: Xbox is the bully who hangs with all the popular kids (AAA games) and spits on the poor (indies).

PlayStation is the nice guy in between who supports the poor kid and stands up to the bully.

PS is doing the morally right thing by supporting the underdogs and ignoring the entitled crying of AAA only, graphics obsessed children.

    • XBOX Games with gold

this month: Ground Zeroes? We got it this June. Walking Dead? We got it August, 3 years ago.

last month: Tomb Raider? We got it, last March. Crysis 3? We got it, last August.

august: Ground Zeroes?? MS gave the same game 2 months apart? LOL. Metro: Last Light? We got it, last February..

Do you see a pattern yet?

    • Supporting Indies is not always the way to go if you’re placing them above AAA titles.
I am glad that I have other options and working on more.
Sony has been putting out garbage fornplus subscribers during the last couple of months.

  • They really need to stop rolling out simple puzzle games or point and click adventure ones. I’ve had my fill and off the top of my head could name a dozen of these exact same titles that have come out on the PS vita or PS4 in the last few months. Get some proper full length titles like the PS3. Either get on your first party developers to start making some real games or get rid of the payed subscription. I originally got PS plus on PS3 because at the time it was well worth the investment. It is not even remotely close to worth it on the PS4.

  • Indie games are good; maybe the future of the game world. But you guys don’t know the limit. We bought PS4. We always give our money for games, we give money to play them online regularly (that’s completely nonsense), we always try to support you. Your response? Always Indie games. You HAVE TO show some gratitude!

  • When i got PS Plus it was for free games and at the time the line up was stuff to be excited about… borderlands 2, bioshock infinite, DmC, Metro, Uncharted 3, Tomb Raider are just a few I snagged for ps3… these line ups make me debate not renewing… I don’t game online that often with other players… the free games were the main thing keeping my renewal. There is only one title I’m interested in on this list and not even that stoked about. What the hell?!

    • Speak for your self and its to early in the console lifecycle to give you a tripple A each month. If you act like a little spoiled brat then go buy a xbox/

    • @KiNG_RiTCHiE007 get a job, make some money, and then go and discover the value of it…
PS Plus is not a great service and it’s far from where it used to be. We are forced to pay for it to play online, in exchange of pretentious indie games.
Sorry if you’re a blind fan, but we didn’t waste money on a great sistem to play pixelated crap

    • Not to mention the way they are dogging out the new releases on last gen so you have to come over and too early for real has it not been two years of overhyped games the problem could easily be fixed by making ps4 backwards compatible instead of charging us for the games we already have like that terrible ps now

    • @KiNG_RiTCHiE007 we not asking triple A title game every month. It been 10 months since triple A title game was given if u count injustice as triple A title game. Ps+ has become complete garbage. When they said Ps+ required to play online I subscribed to play COD AW. But, it was later I found that u need Ps+ to play only free to play games. I have been regretting since then. Its so frustrating. Only game that I loved of all this games are rocket league which I enjoyed. Others just takes a space.

    • yo im curious tho, when did you get your ps+ was it as soon as the sony announsed it or a couple of years later? cus the thing is ive had ps pluss since it came and i know that ps+ on the ps3 was nearly only small games indies and such. just like the ps4 has now. its going to be a couple of years before ps4 gets alot of aaa titles. so stop complaining hun, think about what youre complaining about and thing about how ps+ now helps us get better servers than what they used to be….

  • Btw, if anyone doesn’t know, all these games are available on PC :)

Also, the layout this time around was a bit weird Ryan.

  • I love indie games don’t get me wrong and I currently have ps3, ps4, and psvita and I was really hopeing for at least one good game for all of them this month I’m sick of platformers to be honest thanks to playstation plus last month was full of some really good ones but after tht I don’t want platformers I was hopeing something along the lines of AAA or hell even a indie rpg would be nice I mean broken age and kick beat are a change of pace but don’t seem tht great I really hope you guys step it up next month cu I don’t like this monthes line I will still take them but not happy I’m sorry xbox is kicking your ass with the things they give away for free

  • Looks like a great handful of games to me! I’m also happy I get to play all of the freebies this month since none of them are PS4 exclusive (I only have PS3 & PSV). Thanks Sony!

  • I’m super happy to be able to play Super Meat Boy and Broken Age for free (especially Broken Age on a system that CAN RUN IT). But other than that, I’m a little upset that after those two big indies games we get 4 more. That’s not bad because I wanted to try Chariot; As for the other games, I’m not sure. Broken Age will keep me busy in October, for me this was better than last month’s. I get to compete with my friend on Super Meat Boy and I finally get to play Broken Age. There’s PLENTY of AAA games coming out in october, you guys think that you’ll play whatever they throw at you? Or you just want your money’s worth?

Weren’t you the same Playstationeers that said “bad time to release [blank] game! ‘Cuz all my time’s going to Fallout!”. Go play fallout, go play your AAA game. There’s plenty available to buy in the upcoming months. I understand you want value and Sony is somewhat circling around that with Indie Games, it’s upsetting, I know. Just know that the two spotlight games are worth it. I hope we do get a AAA next month to make things less stale. I just downloaded Transistor and MGS:GZ.

  • As a longtime PS+ member, I’ve seen the good months and the bad months. This is a so-so month, mainly because the two headliners are decent games many people likely own on another platform already. (I know I do!)

What I do miss about the old PS+ is the occasional drop of classic games, sometimes right as they’re made available. PS+ granted many of us early adopters a considerable number of PSX and retro arcade/console games for the PS3, and there are still plenty that would be great to make available (especially since some never seem to go on sale but are priced too high for a purchase in 2015).

For the PS3 in particular, there are lots of titles that would make sense to be PS+ games because people missed them the first time around – games like Folklore, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, Tokyo Jungle and Eat Them!. Adding a “classic” entry to the PS3 games would be great.

I’d also favor adding PS Now games to PS+. If I knew I was getting two automatic unlocks on PS Now every month for games outside the subscription, I might be more tempted to subscribe. (Or, as I’ve suggested, adding on a $25-50 annual PS Now subscription for PS Plus members would be ideal!)

  • Super Meat Boy is essentially worthless. In 2015, anyone who was ever going to play it would have played it. It’s been available in countless sales, such as Humble Indie Bundles, where the game could be purchased for as little as $1.

Broken Age is a niche game, funded by a niche audience. I don’t expect every PS+ game to be a massive blockbuster, but flipping low-rent Kickstarter games to your PS+ subscription customers is audacious.

How is this defensible? I want to see a Sony executive at E3 next year, stand on stage, and try to brag about how they gave their customers Super Meat Boy. What’s in store for 2016? Braid? Geometry Wars? What a ridiculous embarrassment.

    • I have not played it. Don’t presume that because you played it that everyone else did too. I am years behind in games, just finished Borderlands 1. I also got this through humble bundle, but never played it because I prefer to play consoles. I can’t wait to Play Meat Boy on Vita

    • dkarlowicz10 –

The fact that you are playing it on your vita just proves its value. Its supposed to be the PS4 game of the month…

    • I agree with you, except that I’d actually really like Geometry Wars 3 as part of the IGC. The games on offer since I got my PS4 have been pretty weak, far weaker than it was back on PS3. I feel worst for the people who haven’t upgraded, as they’re having to deal with an even weaker lineup when there’s really no excuse for it, considering how big the back catalog of PS3 titles is.

  • Aw man! I just bought Broken Age a few days ago :( Is there any way to get a refund if I’m a PS+ member?

  • Come on ps!! Would have liked to see a AAA game.

  • This line up is horrible (seems like an ongoing trend), not even worth the time and space to download. No offense to the game developers, but I didn’t buy a PS4 to play these types of games.

    • Well maybe you should. There’s a lot of great games out there and keeping an open mind and trying games that may not seem your style can sometimes result in a very serendipitous event.

  • Worth it for Super Meat Boy on PS4 alone!

A timeless game, and I can’t wait to play it again!

  • LMAO, C’mon people! I’m not LMAO at Playstation i’m LMAO at the people! There are a lot of greedy people here, free games are free games, be glad you get something! Every now and then we get spoiled with a good/great game, that’s good enough for me. My kids are the ones enjoying all the unknown indie games, that’s money in my pocket. As for those saying this is their last year with Playstation +, that’ll be less immature people online, my kids & I thank you Playstation!

    .

    .

    • #1 $50 a year isn’t free. #2 don’t tell us how to feel. #4 PlayStation promised us games, not digital trash

    • GreazyGill, you forgot 3. On top of that, you are paying for online service, not only the games. I mean the games are a plus but, thats not the point. I really think $50 a year is a good deal. You might now get whatever game you want but WHATEVER. If you are expecting a AAA game all the time, well then your out of luck. They’d be losing tons of money doing that.

    • Not everyone is satisfied with being fed crumbs. It’s the same way with the exclusives and game selection. It’s like they aren’t even trying anymore. I was floored with the things my friend on xbox gets. So why should we be thankful to settle? It’s not greedy to expect more when you deserve more.

    • Maybe your kids enjoy playing crudy games because they don’t know any better but any “immature” gamer on here(as you would say) does not. In fact Idk how that makes us immature… because we don’t want to play a game aimed at 10 year olds? Buck up Sony and give us what you promised, a quality monthly lineup.

    • You’re a clueless tool…. We pay to play online-It’s called our INTERNET BILL

  • It’s been 3 months since my PS+ expired. I’m not motivated to renewal it in the slightest.

To think it was such a good service on the PS3…

  • Wow, this is shockingly bad. I usually give Sony the benefit of the doubt month after month, but this list… I just can’t anymore. Why do y’all ask for feedback every month after posting the list? Every month the comments are more and more negative, but the lineup gets worse and worse.

I’m not anti-indies. In fact, besides RPGs, indies are all I buy and play. However, there was a time not too long ago when indies popped up on the PS Plus lineup the same day they were released. Now, we get ancient ones that have been on sale countless times, or have been ported over from older consoles. The lack of big releases is also concerning; I used to love that with PS Plus I could try games that I otherwise never would’ve bought, like Just Cause 2, Saint’s Row and Spec Ops. Unfortunately, the only big release we got on the PS4 was Injustice, and, let’s face it, that was only thrown in at the last minute to make up for the Driveclub fiasco. It’s been two years; it’s not unreasonable to expect some big releases at this point! Even a launch game would be nice!

  • I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised. The Wii U is dead and Microsoft is floundering, so Sony has no real competition at this point. A lack of competition is horrible for the consumer, and we can see that clearly in how horrible PS Plus has become. I never thought Microsoft’s PS Plus knockoff would be a better option than Sony’s, but here we are.

It doesn’t help that online multiplayer requires a PS Plus subscription now. Forget voting with your wallets, if you want to play online, you have to pay. Well, you know what? I’m only into solo gaming or local multiplayer, so I’m thinking of cancelling my sub for the first time since the service started. I used to evangelize PS Plus to everyone who’d ask, and convinced a lot of people to opt in, but I’m not doing that anymore either. These monthly games are not “free” for me, I pay for them every year with my sub. If Netflix and Amazon Prime started offering nothing but junk, I’d cancel those subs too. I’m not going to subsidize CoDheads’ and Destinybros’ online *pewpew*ing if these are the types of games I have to look forward to every month.

    • Well said Rpgaymer. I love the Netflix analogy.

    • Great point. I use to be an advocate for plus as well, telling all my buddies, “dude its totally worth it, I got to download BioShock and other great games for free!” Now what do I tell my friends, hey there’s 2 indie games on here nobody wants and one of them came out exclusively for Xbox 5 years ago.. That sure is exciting.

  • So excited about this lineup. Own both of the main games on PC already, but PS4 is definitely my preferred place to play. People need to quit complaining about the games simply because they’re not AAA titles. The value of a game is not based on the budget it had.

  • While I agree somewhat with the people wishing for more AAA titles (it was the combination of Saint’s Row and Deus Ex that originally convinced me to sign up for PS+ in the first case), I’ve been wanting to play Broken Age for a while, so I’m very happy to see that one! A better balance between indies and AAA games would be ideal, but there’s still lots of good things to play.

  • indie game collection at its best

  • You want my feedback? Drive club looked like a ps3 game, I paid full price for Project Cars instead. Now for the line up. Its really quite embarassing. I’m glad I don’t rely on PS plus. If you won’t release anything of substance for the ps4, Atleast have better sales on your games *see Steam* they’re getting more of my gaming $$ and the steam controller is coming. You should be worried.

    • I’d get your vision checked. Driveclub is criticized for a lot of things, but graphics is not one of them.

    • What are you talking about? The psn store has a pretty decent sale like every month now…

    • He doesn’t need his vision checked, perhaps you do. It was terrible and not only did it look like a ps3 game, the handling was terrible. I think i played it for about 10 min before deleting it.

    • I love how we were promised driveclub on PS plus then it takes months and months to become available to us. When we do finally get a chance to download it it is some crappy dulled down version in which I can only drive in India, and then am required to pay for the rest of the game. Doesn’t sound very free to me

    • Yes!
Steam, most of these folks need to visit steam and check their weekly sales. PC gaming may be costly but the quality is 100x better.

  • Why am I not seeing anyone mention the ps3 offering they are far worse than the ps4 ones and vita is saved by the fact that supermeat boy is on it. but Unmechanical: Extended, Chariot seem like mediocre dime a dozen 2d indie games, I’m not saying they are bad just kinda oversaturated and we’ve gotten dozens like them from ps+ alone. The other two I will say are bad, kung fu rabbit and kickbeat are just plain crap. I honestly have no idea why the ps3 offerings have gotten so crappy I would think everytime there is a sequel released on ps4 they would offer it’s predecessor on ps+ for ps3 to build hype for it but they don’t. I’m not even asking for new games just a retail game every few months. I know they did twisted metal but that games online being broken kinda ruins it. Even a 3d indie game or a rpg or something would be nice but no it’s just these side scroller platformers with a twist…

  • Last month was great, what happened this month? Almost two years since the release of PS4 and we can’t get a single console exclusive in the mix like the mediocre Knack for instance. I having nothing against indies and Broken Age is a good one but Super Meat Boy is a six year old game even if it wasn’t available on Playstation before, there should have been atleast a PS4 game that most people haven’t already played a long time ago.

Kickbeat and Kung Fu Rabbit look like nothing special at all, atleast select good indie games like Grow Home last month or recently released The Vanishing of Ethan Carter for example. I hope the selection gets significantly better next month because this is really disappointing.

    • OK I confused last month with August when we got God of War: Ascension, that was great. The previous month was just alright and this line up apart from maybe two games is just absolutely abysmal, the most disappointing that I have seen from PS Plus so far.

  • Broken age and super meat boy wooh!
Hoping for a horror themed sale this month!

  • and this is what happen went you give “free” things…they one more…they want everything for free…totally everything! even the newest games like BLACK OPS 3… the community on the playstation blog is totally trash to read…

    • What free games? We pay for the service monthly or yearly. There’s no such thing as a free PS Plus game, just like there’s no such thing as a free Netflix movie. PS Plus is not a charity, and paying customers have a right to complain if the service they pay for is not what it once was.

    • You don’t even have a Plus account, so your opinion is pretty invalid

    • you dont have a PS+ account and nobody in their right mind expects BLOPS3 to be free lmao. You are quite likely literally insane.

    • Insane and illiterate lol

  • I’m very excited for Broken Age, SMB looks fun too and mostly, there is a lot for the Vita this month. Thank you Sony and please, don’t abandon this great little machine.

  • About 3 years ago, when my brother gave me a Vita, I said that I would subscribe to Plus if it had two interesting months in a row. I’m still waiting for that to occur.

  • What is the garbage?!

Why have playstation promos gone downhill so far down. I remember playstation underground which made playstation exciting for all gamers. After that program was cancelled, Sony was doing okay with its customer promotions but now its just a complete joke. I’ve never even heard of these crappy games and ive owned all the playstation since the PS1 in 1996.

I recently bought a Sony Aibo off of ebay and it reminds me soo much of when Sony used to be considered an amazing innovative company. Now its like a joke.

Please provide actual games for our $50 playstation plus membership, not free games that NOBODY cares about or even wants. On the upload atleast you’ll be saving service bandwidth with the lack of download for this joke of a promotion

  • My good lord! Yet another completely unworthy collection! You force me to pay to play online and yet promise cool games, of which there hasn’t been one on ps4 yet. I bought Driveclub so got poked in the eye there. When it was just Ps3 and Vita there were oodles of good titles, my HDD is still full of mega titles. But my ps4 is a sad representation of what came before. Stop giving out cack!

    • Super Meat Boy and Broken Age are actually really great games and fun to play. Just because they are not AAA titles doesn’t meant that PlayStation is giving out an “Unworthly collection” of games. Try them out, they are free and thank PlayStation for even providing free games to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

    • It’s not free. We pay 50$. Free would be implying no one is paying for ps plus. So in reality we’re paying for the title’s each month as a whole mass group.

    • That was the catch to paying for PS+ to begin with so we expect them, we expect free games cause that’s how plus was sold on PSN back on the PS3 along with perks on PS Home such as access to X7 and their free items for members.
Coming from PS3 to PS4 you would know this, XBL existed since late XBOX, it was sold as an online service that gave you access to play online, XBOX 360 sold XBL gold as something similar but now offered party chat and so on, I can’t recall if this was offered on the first XBOX but I can see that argument being justified there, not on PSN which was introduced with the monthly freebies, we didn’t pay to play online cause that was free, PS+ was just a premium service with perks of it’s own.

  • I’m excited for this. Was actually just thinking about picking up Broken Age.

  • New update today..you can’t see when your friend logs on…BUT finally you can turn off when he joins a party !! No more feeling hurt and rejected. No more taking you out of that RoCo sappy moment on Netflix. Huzzah PlayStation 2 years you got it half right :P

  • What a joke…

  • Digging Super Meat Boy and Broken Age for sure. I don’t recognize the others but will check them out. I still find a lot of value in PS Plus, personally.

  • If PS+ wasn’t required for some MP game modes, I wouldn’t even bother with it at this point.

While I don’t expect AAA titles every month or even every six months, come on Sony, throw us a bone once in a while. There are plenty of release titles you could toss at us.

And what happened to voting? Though I am guessing we would just be voting on yet another three throw away indie titles…I am sick to death of “retro looking” indie games.

Come on Sony, remove the PS+ requirement for MP so I can save myself $50 a year.

    • Hey, if you don’t like it, go pay $60 a year for games that actually aren’t worth your money or just plain dated on Xbox Live.

    • Yep. If it wasn’t for the multiplayer blackmail they’d lose a good chunk of people from the service. The games have the potential to make it worthwhile for everybody, but these constantly indie-centric tech-demo bulls–t gimckey releases that pander to one slice of gamer population while completely ignoring the gamers who won’t want to chuck so much time into some niche kiddy game, well.. f that. Multiplayer is a great feature, but its value decreases with every month of PS+ game releases

    • Agreed, it’s just an excuse to have us pay for their online service now. PS+ was sold as the premium service which offered quality games every month across all of Sony’s gaming platforms. Sony can’t afford to invest in triple A titles at the moment so they’re testing their luck with the indie developers in hopes that one of them hits the jackpot and ends up being very thankful for Sony giving the opportunity that’d help help them get the devs loyalty. Sony already stated that they’re not willing to pay for exclusives while MS is known for being willing to pay for exclusivity, even if it’s temporary like GTAIV.

  • are you kidding me? you can’t even give us the full lineup? you give us a link to a page that isn’t even updated yet? this is unreal. the game selection doesn’t bother me, but the communication to your subscribers is absolutely atrocious. i have been a sony fan for years, i own everything from the PS1 on up, but this is the laziest announcement i’ve ever seen. just give us a list! or be transparent enough to let us know that you don’t have everything finalized. for christ’s sake…

  • This is the worst lineup so far. ^~^

  • So vote to play lasted 1 month. Also last month the selection was bad, this month just as bad. All these indie games are the same! Change a character and backdrop and call fez, meatboy. How about ps4 get AAA ps3 games. Or maybe something other than a platform game. Look how great rocket league did with members. Maybe just a assasin creed game or Lego.

  • Now should be called: INDIES PLUS games for Playstation

    Getting worse

    • Haha really, indies, indies, indies all months the same…Welcome to INDIES PLUS STORE

    • Thank you! I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Last month (Sept.), at least Sony offered ‘Grow Home’, which has turned out to be an excellent game. But the other retro-platformers… man… WTF?!? What’s with this craze of cranking out titles that are late for the NES? If I wanted to play something that looked like it was created in the 1980s, I’d play an emulator and would have saved myself over $400 on the purchase of the PS4 hardware.

(rant trimmed because it was turning into an article all its own)

  • This is a joke, what a disappointing lineup.

    • Maybe thats your opinion… Im hyped to see Broken Age and Super Meat Boy come free. Ive heard nothing but great things coming from either of those games. Also, Chariot is SUPER RAD couch co-op. Too bad its not cross-buy, but I already own the PS$ one anyway.

Super good line up, excited to play Broken Age. Tim Schafer for the win!

  • While the quality of PS Plus has declined dramatically the last few years, I think the deals on some games are good. I rarely spend more than 5 minutes on these indies and there are better free games on newgrounds.

I do have one question. Weren’t we supposed to be able to vote for the games we wanted, or did they give up on that?

  • Geez what a truly disappointing line-up. It’s October for crying out loud! Where are the free horror games!?

  • If you guys are complaining about Meat Boy or Broken Age, you’re absolutely insane… I’ve been dying to play Meat Boy since it launched on XBLA, and Broken Age is supposed to be great. I couldn’t be more excited for my Vita this month.

    • from what i’ve seen broken age has been fairly divisive, actually. some people love it, some hate it, some thought it was just alright. (i’ve still been wanting to play it, though. every game i’ve played from tim schafer so far has been great, with psychonauts in particular being my favorite game, and from what i’ve seen the game looks great)

that said, i’ve played super meat boy on 360 ages ago, and i can confirm that it is indeed excellent. and considering i’m usually pretty meh on games designed to be extremely hard, that’s really saying a lot. i lost access to the live account i had it on, so i’m happy to get the game again.

not really sold on anything else, but i mean, they’re basically free, so i’ll probably at least check them out anyway, and for something i pay less than $5 a month for, 2/6 games isn’t bad.

    • Yeah man, Super Meat Boy is a great game…

A great game that came out in 2010.

Sony needs to do better than giving subscribers a 5 year old game for their “next gen” gaming consoles.

    • If you’ve been dying to play it why not go on your computer and download it for $3, 6 years ago. You don’t even need a super computer, a regular old windows xp laptop will work.

  • I mostly am just into indie games myself, and I’m still incredibly disappointed by this list. This month’s games are ancient. Kickbeat is 2 years-old, Super Meat Boy is twice that. Kung-Fu Rabbit can be bought for 99-cents on my phone. It’s possible to like indies and still be disappointed by what PS Plus has turned into, y’all.

And the corporate boot-licking has gotten ridiculous. These are NOT “free” games, and no one is greedy or entitled; we all pay for PS Plus and have every right to complain about it if we don’t like what it has become.

    • I have the same sentiment about the indies, and the same feeling about this month. Also agree with feedback. I’d really like to get way more RPG games on PS+ then we have.

    • As primarily an Xbox fan who also has a PS4, the devotion of Sony fans to the company is fascinating to me. Every single complaint I’ve read in this comments section has been replied to by someone defending Sony. I like PlayStation just fine, but man is it frustrating to see people bend over backwards to defend Sony, when the same people would call for Microsoft to be burnt to the ground if the Xbox did the same exact thing.

  • Been wanting to play Broken Age for a bit. Gonna get for Vita.

  • The worst month ever!!!!, i know indies are a part of videogame but we want more AAA games, Vita is dead (because Sony want it) and PS3 is taking the final road.
