One brutally difficult platformer, one heart-warming, coming-of-age story. This month’s PS Plus lineup has a great mix of flavors and you’ve come to the right place for the details! Starting on the first Tuesday of the month, a new lineup of free games comes to PlayStation Plus members, including Super Meat Boy and Broken Age on PS4.

Super Meat Boy will challenge even the most devoted platforming players with teeth-grinding levels, insane obstacles, horrible traps, and smiling chunks of meat. Yum! Can you stand against the gory onslaught of near-impossible tasks in Super Meat Boy? You’ll find out soon enough…

PS Plus: October 2015

If that’s a little too intense, why not point and click at things, instead? Broken Age is joining the PS Plus lineup, too! In it, guide two teenagers through strangely similar circumstances but on two different worlds. With a gorgeous soundtrack and award-winning cast, Broken Age is perfect for gamers that grew up with the adventure genre. Or people that just want to hear some jokes. Jokes are always good.

Last thing! Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!

      Do you not like the PlayStation Plus games you’re receiving? Wait a month or two. Maybe something appealing to you will come up then. Still not satisfied? That’s fine. Let your subscription run out and feel free to provide your feedback in a calm, casual/professional manner. That’s what Sony is going to listen to. Whining and slinging vitriol gets you nowhere.

    What a horrible month. Month after month of nothing but garbage Indies. You would think after months of the community railing on Sony for giving us horrible and games..they would change. What happened to PlayStation plus? “subscribe now and get early access to betas, avatars, themes, cloud storage, etc”. Now, it’s just forced online, a meager 2gb upload save space, and horrible Indie games(A large portion of them being pretentious), or games that everyone played ages ago, forgotten and are now in the bargain bin for at GameStop three dollars. This is why I’m glad I only play $20 for a year. Also, where is the rest of this month’s games for the Vita and PS3?

      Good! That’s what you do if you’re not content with the games they offer… But if you and the same entitled whiners who were expecting BiG retail AAA releases given away every month, two years in the console’s life cycle for just $ 49.99…

      …Take your $4.16 a month and buy yourselves a box of tissues instead.

      How do some of you function in society, is just beyond comprehension. $4.16 /mo ffs. Let that sink in.

      Cmon sony did you just make the ac black flag rumor to get us excited for this month then just give us indie game!? Don’t get me wrong I loved last month with grow home, s.t.f.u, twisted metal, and xeodrifter, that was and Allstar line up of great games but to have a month full of side scrollers, indies and some games nobody has heard of !? At least give us one triple a per month and it doesn’t even have to be a new one! Just please just try to appeal to the other audience that doesn’t like indies and side scrollers and give them at least one triple a per month.

    Ugh. I remember the days where in there was at least one “real” game for each platform in ps plus.

    Ever since they changed into this format of chaging games per mos…sigh…. This is soo sad.
    The last update that I really cared about was last year’s dragons crown and poof. No more.

    I like the sales though. Overall, it’s still better than Microsoft’s.
    It’s just not as good as it once were.

    Come on sony, you know this is bad, really bad. It’s been months of this, I enjoyed Rocket League because it was a different game, an indie that actually was unique and when a AAA games gets announced its a demo, another demo disguised an a retail game, a stand alone DLC, a fighting game discounted to death.
    Another month, another disappointment. No re sub for me and I’m not sure when will ps plus gets its value back.

      IKR??? WTF… Xbox One’s free games a month is much better than the **** we’ve been getting recently.. No wonder they didn give us a option to vote.. No one would’ve voted for meat boy or Broken age.. What a bunch of ****. First FW 3.00 doest have any PSX or PS2 BC and now that… I’m really starting to hate this freaking system.

    Ok so, I just bought my PS4 (metal gear finally pulled me over), and so I haven’t been here long. But this comes off weird even to me.

    I actually really like Super Meatboy, and I’m happy to own it again. And Broken Age seems interesting if nothing else. But I’m just confused as to why these are the only two games listed. My understanding of how the Instant Games collection was different from Xbox Games With Gold (which is what I had with my 360) was that you only had access to the games while you were a Plus subscriber, but to account for that, more games were offered each month. And as far as I can remember from glancing over these deals (and judging from the 4 free games I have from September on my PS4 HDD), this has been the case.

    So, where are the other games (in the US)? Europe has a full list? Is that list the same for us? if so why isn’t it clarified? Or is it really just these 2 games this month (no ps3 or vita games?)

    I’m not saying anything no one else has, I just want to express my own confusion, even as someone who is happy with the 2 games that have been mentioned.

      1. The first list only had the two PS4 games – they updated it later with the PS3 and Vita games (two each, six total).

      2. Sometimes one or more of the games are cross-buy, so even thought it’s a PS4 title, for example, the Vita and/or PS3 version may also be free. That means the number of free games for a given platform can vary dramatically each month – anywhere from two to six. In October it looks like the PS3 splits the difference – we essentially get four games since both Vita games are cross-buy with the PS3. The PS4 only gets three this time, because only one of the PS3 games is cross-buy with the PS4 version.

    Not all of these titles are for me but I’m interested in what the PS version of Super Meat Boy will bring to the table, and Broken Age looks pretty cool.

    For me PS Plus is valuable for the savings more than the free games but lately I’ve been enjoying some of those. For example this month Teslagrad and La Mulana were both a great time.

    Most of the indie games that I have bought became free on the ps plus, so nowadays, I do not spend any more money on indie games, even on the ones I want to actually pay for. I rather just wait till it is free on ps plus.

    Enough with all of the games that could have been played in an NES and are for little kids or hipsters who like garbage cuz it’s so bad that it’s good. If you want people to think your system is the best, start giving some games that prove that it is. Maybe your new slogan should be “But a PS4, we make games for 3 year olds in the 80s”.

    Aw, quit complaining everyone! I personally love the PS+ program, it introduces me to many games that I probably would not have ever played. $50 is a pretty small investment for a “club” like this, and my current subscription will probably out-live the life of the program. (4 Years). For all the haters, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it!!! As for me, I’m in for the long run…

      After 500 hundred for the console it better be cheap offering us that lagging online that use to be free games that require dlc to be complete not to mention the games that I could have played on ps2 being pushed in my face as well as the constant push to upgrade like games being paid to leave content off the disc because it’s not update hardware while the one that supposedly is is barely pushing a 60 fps

    I REALLY HOPE people will understand before they judge and write stupid things like “go XBOX then”: the problem of PS+ is that we just have indie games. Calm your horses, the problem is not the games, and it’s not because they’re indie, I love most of them, I really do. The problem is that in some weeks we’re going to see these same games in flash sales for a dollar (maybe 3, MAYBE) and won’t be able to purchase them because of the flaws of PS+ system. That’s just too bad. It was nice when we could get big titles – if we really like them we’d buy, and we’d still take advantage of the sales. Today, we can’t really own the indie games and can’t play the big ones.

    So my comment was too long and it ate it.

    From 2012-2014, PS+ had a TON of retail titles available for PS3/PS4/Vita. In 2015, there’ve been only a handful. THIS is what people are complaining about. You don’t have to give us brand new AAA titles that are still $60 at stores to fix it. Give us PS1/PS2 classics. Give us PS4 titles that are over a year old. Give us PS3 titles that are older and haven’t shown up yet.

    I mean, how cool would a month with the following be?

    Vita:
    Chrono Trigger (PS1 Classic)

      That’s what I was expecting when I joined. I saw Thi3f come up but it was for PS3, so I thought..ok in a few months they’ll realease it. Nothing. It’s indie stuff I don’t care about or already have from a humble bundle on PC.

    It’s nice to see people posting complaints instead of the usual “oh great update” or “awesome”, etc….. About time people get vocal and let Sony know how dissatisfied we are. Enough is enough Sony. It’s time to start giving something better than the garbage that’s been stuck to us for a number of months now. I see there was no voting this time around either, was that a flop like I figured it would be? I bet there were complaints then too. I don’t get how people will still defend Sony and say that the people complaining are whiney babies. We are paying for a service that includes them giving us free games. They want the money they better start giving better stuff. Things have gone downhill. Plus used to be better.

      Psssstttt….Some people aren’t poor and manage their responsibilities and don’t live off of mommy and daddy, those people actually purchase their games instead of waiting for free retail AAA titles…..So here is the other crazy thing, some of the people don’t have a massive sense of entitlement either so the lineup is actually great to them….IF you can’t afford to actually purchase the AAA retail games you seem to think your entitled to for free, then maybe perhaps stop gaming after all it is a want not a need in life

      Psst not all of us are sponging off of mommy and daddy. Some of us actually want what we were promised. We want quality. We don’t want AAA titles every month but after a number of months of garbage people tend to get fed up. Before Plus was a requirement for online play people had it to get free games every month. That’s what Plus was about. I think people have a right to complain. I’m sick of people who have the attitude of “how dare you complain”. You better believe I dare. I pay for two plus accounts and I want what I was promised. And bully for you if you can continually dish out 59.99 every time a game drops. Not all of us have it like that. Just because people want a free GOOD game (not necessarily AAA but a GOOD game) doesn’t equal a person is not handling their responsibilities. Maybe they are handling responsibilities and aren’t blowing money every time a new game comes out. And, as far as entitlement goes, guess what? We ARE entitled. We pay for it! Telling someone to stop gaming because they’re dissatisfied with a service is ridiculous. Maybe the company needs to pay attention to it’s customers. Companies who don’t go bye bye.       Sony specifically announced that they would only run votes periodically, not every month. But of course, you don’t do your research.

      complaints have been near solid every month, the same entitled people complaining over and over and over. you bring up some valid points, but so do the people saying, “you have no room for complaint.” I’m lucky to get PS+, I wanted AC4 badly on PS4, as a free game, because I’m unable to get it otherwise (mostly because my grandma, who buys stuff until I get off my butt and try to get a job, ssees no point since I own it on PS3), some of us are in a position to buy games as soon as they release, like you said, however, SOME of us have pretty much PS+ as our only way to get new games regularly (I am EXTREMELY lucky when I am rarely able to get a full $60 game), so we get what we get, Sony can’t just snap their fingers and give us AAA titles every month, or “good” games every month (since “good” is subjective. Several of these games sound really good to me), they have to give what the publishers allow. It’s just how it works.

      you weren’t promised AAA games every month. What you were promised, is free games. Indie games fall into that spectrum.

      I’d LOVE to get some really good free games, but the fact is, just because they aren’t AAA doesn’t mean you’re getting denied what you weren’t promised in the first place.

      I think that most of these people applauding this garbage are a big part of the problem. I tell you all what, get your self a PC, build a decent gaming rig and try steam, I guarantee that you wouldn’t think twice about letting your PlayStation catch dust.
      I barely play my PS4 & it’s mainly due to this issue, I can care less about triple A titles, I can care less about Indies, what we want is quality and variety, not the same old garbage Indies every month.
      I still have The Witcher 3 and tons of other games releasing within the next few months and none of them require me to have PS+ in order for me to enjoy them.

      The main issue with the whole indie beef we have is that there’s nothing really uniquely different every month with these games. Same old puzzle, platformed & random game that can be played on a mobile device. That most definitely is not quality, it is not what we expect out of PSN every month, I stopped downloading or adding this garbage to my IGC library about a month or two ago due to this garbage.
      So basically I am paying for online play, updates, party chat and other features I barely use -_-
      Why even continue paying for plus?

      I don’t know why they would either.
      It’s a launch week release too!

      My guess is that since it wasn’t developed by EA games they must think it’s quality is poor.
      That or they owned it back on their xbox 360.
      Maybe they had one copy on steam from a humble bundle and didn’t like they keyboard controls.

      Personally It’s the first time I’m gonna be able to play it with optimal controls.
      I have a steam copy sure, but my rig sucks for it’s age.

    It’s nice to see people posting complaints instead of the usual “oh great update” or “awesome”, etc….. About time people get vocal and let Sony know how dissatisfied we are. Enough is enough Sony. It’s time to start giving something better than the garbage that’s been stuck to us for a number of months now. I see there was no voting this time around either, was that a flop like I figured it would be? I bet there were complaints then too. I don’t get how people will still defend Sony and say that the people complaining are whiney babies. We are paying for a service that includes them giving us free games. They want the money they better start giving better stuff. Things have gone downhill. Plus used to be better. And these Vita games we get aren’t true Vita games, they’re always cross platform

      The open ignorance in your post is awesome. Sony openly announced the voting wouldn’t be hosted every month, but it’s way better to make pretentious and false assumptions about one own’s intellect than it is to actually educate oneself as to the matters at hand.

      Literally every time I’ve ever looked at the comments on one of these posts 90% of the comments are “stop giving cheap indie garbage I’m totally gonna quit PS+” so I don’t know what the heck you’re on about

    Man I remember the golden age of plus when the Vita launched. A full retail RECENT game for both ps3 and vita every month. Then the Ps4 gained traction and it’s nothing but dollar trash that’s years old or indies worth a couple buck.

    With all these cheap indies the value is going to end up being less than the cost of plus itself in no time.

    Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Don’t usually comment on this sort of thing, but felt I had to add my 2 cents worth after seeing the lineup. I enjoy having PSPlus as it allows me to play the free games they’ve given away in the past – but really not enjoying paying out for it when we are getting so many indies, that are all essentially the exact same thing. Pretty poor showing this time round Sony. I think perhaps it’s time we all got a little more bang for our buck, like Plus used to be in the past with multiple (and better) games to play.

    Honestly, I swear I cannot hold indie lineup anymore. At least give us 1 AAA game every 2-3 months. Even if it is an old AAA game, I will take it just not this the whole year.

      Bring your talents to Xbox live. Lol Do you see a PlayStation plus sign by my PSN ? Haven’t subscribed in almost a year. Xbox live is a better online service also. I’m sure you know this by now if you have an Xbox 360 or Xbox one. whats crazy is before i got an Xbox 360, I used to be a real fanboy for Sony, couldn’t tell me anything lol. But man when i played Xbox 360 the first time I did not want to go back to PlayStation. Every since the PS4 released there has been nothing but disappointment, i unsubscribed in November of last year and have been on Xbox one every since.

    i understand that the architecture for each system is different. But what Im truly waiting for is a chance to take all my digital downloads that i’ve purchased over the years (console downloads on ps3) and be able to use and play them on my ps4. would be great to only have the ps4 hooked up and play and experience all that we have purchased on the psn.

      The architecture being different, I call bull, because i’ve seen people by a factory new ps3 throw it into safety mode insert a ps4 disc and use the update data on the ps4 disc to turn the ps3 into a ps4, so why can we use are ps3 games on our ps4’s, also with streaming the games aren’t they just using the data files for the game to play it or are they converting it?

      @GermanJamez, it is absolutely bull. I purchased 2 games on PS3 on disc before PS4 came out. When PS4 was released, they offered $10 upgrades on them. I still currently, as in right this second, have my Battlefield 4 PS3 disc in my PS4. The $10 upgrade gave me the graphic and map size upgrade as a download and still requires the use of the PS3 disc to run the game off of. If they can find a way to make that work, it is workable with other titles as well. Similarly, there is no argument to be made as to why our PS3 digital purchases could not be streamed through PS Now. If the game is on PS Now, it is a matter of them changing the listing to “Owned.” It is a power play and nothing more.

    Wow, this games are so bad I’m not even going to add them to my Library.

    What the hell is wrong with PS+? I’m sick and tired of these indie games, THEY SUCK, THEY ARE BORING, AND THEY ADD NOTHING TO THE PS4 EXPERIENCE, NADA, CERO, ZIP, POOP!

    It’s been almost two years since the PS4 released, I’m sure you guys at PlayStation can do a better job of getting PS+ members at least ONE game that we actually care about.

    If I didn’t need PS+ to play online on PS4, I would’ve canceled my membership long ago, to be honest, PS+ adds nothing to PS, NOTHING. The servers are the same, the service is the same, and the only good thing PS+ used to have, the free games line up, it’s now an Indie Game outlet.

      Sadly your comment explains the situation perfectly. You are dissatisfied with the game selection, yet renew your subscription in order to keep access to online gaming services.

      Sony knows this. In a couple of years PS+ will simply be the mandatory online access cost and the game library will be virtually defunct. Welcome to PS4.

    Hey look, an overrated indie platformer that came out like 10 years ago, a boring adventure game with mediocre reviews, and another poorly reviewed crappy indie puzzle game thats been on steam for years….and then we get a crappy rhythm game, 2 “ok” looking indie platformers for ps3. Complete shi-it for ps4 and all indie games, none of which are remarkable. I am so pissed I waited till like 8 months ago to join ps plus, hearing from everyone else on here of early on when Sony used to care and would release older or newer AAA games, and not just indie crap that’s already been on steam and on sale like 100 times……nice one guys *facepalm*
