PS Plus: Free Games for October 2015

One brutally difficult platformer, one heart-warming, coming-of-age story. This month’s PS Plus lineup has a great mix of flavors and you’ve come to the right place for the details! Starting on the first Tuesday of the month, a new lineup of free games comes to PlayStation Plus members, including Super Meat Boy and Broken Age on PS4.

Super Meat Boy will challenge even the most devoted platforming players with teeth-grinding levels, insane obstacles, horrible traps, and smiling chunks of meat. Yum! Can you stand against the gory onslaught of near-impossible tasks in Super Meat Boy? You’ll find out soon enough…

Become a PlayStation Plus member

If that’s a little too intense, why not point and click at things, instead? Broken Age is joining the PS Plus lineup, too! In it, guide two teenagers through strangely similar circumstances but on two different worlds. With a gorgeous soundtrack and award-winning cast, Broken Age is perfect for gamers that grew up with the adventure genre. Or people that just want to hear some jokes. Jokes are always good.

Last thing! Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition will no longer be available as a free download for Plus members starting on October 6th, 2015. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, be sure to go to PlayStation Store now before October 6th!

Seriously?These are the games for “free” this month?I am user of PC also and these indie games are being given from bundles for 1$ in steam.It’s not worth paying even 4$ per month for these games.Ok no problem..No plus this month also Sony.I am not asking for AAA games but some games that will keep me interested.So 4 indie games for PS3 for 4$ per month no.It’s not worth it.Steam gives you for PC 4 bundles with indie or better games for 4$.So thanks again Sony.See you next month

First off, I do love the free games every month for having PS+. $60 a year and each month you get roughly $40 in games is a good deal.

Secondly, I do wish we had more AAA games given to us on the PS4. It’s been a while now, and so far it has all be indie games.

If it wasn’t for the requirement of PS Plus to play Destiny and other multiplayer games I would be letting my subscription lapse. Month after month you have provided us with horrible selections of repetitive, retro throwback, platformers. It has been a long time since any of the game you have offered remotely interested me.

I am very displeased with the offers we are paying for. Perhaps you should do some customer research and find out what we actually want instead of irritating your customers month after month.

I think it’s very disappointing to see yet another rubbish month for playstation plus account holders. I got excited to see that you can now vote what game you want for free for the next month and I was disappointed to see games Ive never heard of or seen before.

However I’ve seen that meat boy is offered this month and that’s not all that exciting, yeah it may be a great indie game but surely with the success of the ps4 I would of thought that you – Sony, would offer more AAA titles as a thank you for your continued support, dedication for the success of playstation.

I have said it for months now that XB1 have a better line up of free games and it’s worth having an xbox live account than having a playstation plus account.

Come on Sony give us something worth having. As a thank you. Listen to your community.

Personally, I’d rather get old PSone classic games for free than old indie games. :p

But I see a lot of people who are saying they’ll cancel their subscription of Sony doesn’t step it up. I say good, let all these people cancel their PS+ membership. If PS+ loses members, because these people don’t play online either, like myself, then that only means Sony will decide to step it up with better games that more people will want to play. I believe EU PS+ tends to get better games than the NA PS+ because it doesn’t have as many subscribers.

Nice, I get a game I’ve owned on Steam for nearly 6 years!
This is not good line-up, not even close. I kinda feel bad for the people that are excited for this update too. Thankfully FIFA 16 is so good I won’t mind skipping this month so much.

I might as well just fire up my old NES at this rate. I dont mind some of the indie games but most arent worth looking at and I have to admit, Im getting tired of seeing them constantly. I suggest that when you ask for feedback, maybe pay a little more attention. Mix it up a little better. Dont need AAA games, just maybe obscure titles that most might not have tried/heard of or at least offer better deals to make up for the indie saturation. Hopefully the next couple months look better.

my sub has ended like 4 months ago. i already have my renewal card ready to go but seeing the lineups just really annoyed me. granted i lost chance on ROcket League but its one game out all other crappy games they been releasing. i read someone here that PS Plus is more a sub to play online and the games are just a plus (no pun intended) . well since i am not much of multiplayer kind of gamer i guess i won’t miss much.

I really dont like what PS+ and PlayStation in general have become, I really liked the PS+ on PS3. The PS+ games on the PS3 was the thing that got me to chose PS4 instead on Xbone, I expected it to be as good games here as it was there, but no……….
You come up with a crappy Indie lineup every month, only games that I liked in the PS4 lineups were Rocket League and First Light. But none of those is not even close to the old PS3 lineups. If I were to choose Xbone or PS4 today, I would definetivly pick the Xbone, mostly because of the disappointment of PS+.

So get your crap togheter Sony, and give us games that we actually appericate, or you are going to lose the Xbone vs PS4 war…. :/

  They are obviously banking on the sub being required for multiplayer.
  They don’t have pay out as much if they only offer indies, and those that get upset by that to the point where the subscription doesn’t get renewed are off set by new subscriptions for all that destiny and cod multiplayer.
  
  My best guess is that the money they got from plus used to go toward securing the free games, but is now going to call of duty maps. Still doesn’t explain why we don’t get older first party games, but anywho.

More garbage. Sick of getting indie games that I could play on my Super Nintendo. PS Plus use to be worth something. Now since everyone has it for PS4 they stopped giving out AAA titles. There are plenty of games for PS4 that no one is buying anymore. Would it kill them to just toss us one of those at least every 2 months or so.

It’s to the point Xbox is beating out your “Free” games of the month.
You are removing Drive Club.
Cramming Indies platformers down our throats.
Playstation Better do something different in the up coming months, or I’m canceling service when it renews in November.
For once I wish Xbox would beat out playstation over sales for a period of time.
Maybe they would change their stance of “Customer Appreciation”. Microsoft is doing it now, and frankly, though the numbers don’t reflect it, they are doing it right.

just got the ps4 last month and wasn’t too eager with september’s free games, but they were definitely way better than this line up. Already played most of these on my pc. Well let’s see if MGO is any good then we’ll see

I bought the PS4 and sub to ps plus, because of all the AAA titles that had been showcased, now almost all of those titles have been pushed back to 2016-2017 and the ONLY games ps + has to offer are indie titles, which are just terrible and not even worth the sub fees I paid for ps plus.
PS4 went from being a AAA console, to an indie console almost over night, I am regretting buying the PS4 and will not renew my ps plus suib, i am also looking into get an X1, because at least they offer older games.
Honestly, there is a huge lineup of PS3 games available that Sony just isnt giving us that will play on the PS4.
This is the old bait and swtch.
I a not geting what I paid for and the PS4 has literally become a paper weight at my home.

Why have we been paying Sony to downgrade their services to us!? I traded my PS3 for my PS4, thinking that it was the best decision I ever made, but now…. Not only is the system not backwards compatible, it also gives much worse PS Plus titles. Honestly guys, lets start some sort of justified strike (by not purchasing or renewing our PS Plus subscriptions) so that we get the services that we deserve (paying for but not receiving).

anyone remember back in like april of this year it was stated by sony that each system would get 3 games a month and that ps3 and vita would get 1 AAA title out of those 3, well anyway gonna get back to playing this game on face book it has better graphics and is more fun than all 6 of these other games combined, oh i’d like to express my sympathy to the company shill who has to act as if these games arent bull$#!t i mean he acted as though twisted metal wasn’t a 13 gig waste of space probably took quite a few drinks to swallow ones pride and act as though that was a worthwhile game

I just can’t believe the amount of unappreciative comments out there. So what we get indie games? Most of the indies we get FOR FREE (sometimes even on their PS release date) are regarded as juggernauts in the indie development community. PS Plus isn’t the type of service that is going to dole out AAA titles every month because 1. PS4 doesn’t even have many first-party AAA titles out yet and 2. when your break down a $50/year subscription, you’re paying $4.67 a month. Now, who honestly would expect Sony to hand out a $60 game every month on top of the other five free games PS users are already getting? That’s absurd.

If you’re so hurt by Sony’s logical decisions inside their free games incentive, then go buy an Xbox One and pay $60/year for Xbox Live. Just look at the great decisions they make: they’re giving out MGS 5: Ground Zeroes this month. You know, the prequel to the game that came out last month that most everyone is already playing. Sony was actually respectful enough to hand out that 2 hour joke a couple of months ahead of time so players could feel they’re having the full MGS 5 experience on Phantom Pain’s release date.

So, in essence, go away.

  Actually we don’t mind not having one every month the problem is that in the last 3 we had ground zeros which is basically a demo and rocket league that has been playable and we spent 500 for the console with the 50 for the online yet I still regret ever buying it because so far I still lag and have little games that I could or would play I didn’t pay 500 dollars go play no ps2 game I thought we’d get that good gaming experience which so far I feel like has became about pay walls and dlc so If I want a 60 game from a multi billion dollar company once every two months or so I should be able to ask for it with out being called ungrateful just cause you don’t mind not getting your money’s worth

Ground Zeros is AAA but it’s not a game, it’s a demo. It’s not worth any amount of time or money, and if that actually cost Sony anything to give away I’d be shocked. More to the point, I wouldn’t give a **** about this if I didn’t have to pay for it so I can play my games online, something that is entirely free on PC because it’s entirely sensible. If they want to have a monthly/yearly subscription for free games in a separate package, by all means people can waste 50 dollars a year for a bunch of mediocre indie games. But if you’re going to force me to pay for it so I can get the full experience for video games I’ve already paid for, on servers they don’t host and on an internet connection I already pay for, at least occasionally release a game that is worth a damn.

I may not have been a PS Plus member that long (since February, 2015 I believe) but I also purchase a ton of games myself. In the entire time I’ve had PS Plus, this is the first month that gave us a game I already had (Broken Age – which I bought the day it came out). The fact that I paid 50 dollars for a subscription that has given me around 34 games that included Rocket League, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Rogue Legacy, Valiant Hearts, Never Alone, Tower of Guns, Ether One, The Unfinished Swan, Styx, Limbo, Grow Home, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and now Broken Age is to me a very good deal. I never would have bought most of these myself and yet I ended up enjoying them a lot. Those aren’t the kind of games I usually play but each one of them ended up being fun. By the time 12 months is up, I will have around 45 games for free (plus DriveClub PS Plus edition, Whoa Dave, and some others that were free but didn’t count in the Instant Game Collection). That’s just about a dollar per game which is nearly as good as a Humble Bundle. Plus all the discounts I get for brand new games like SOMA recently and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture before that (usually 10 percent at least) make this easily worth the money.

  They don’t give this stuff away. We pay fifty dollars a year for it. Before you start crying “server costs” Sony doesn’t host the game servers. They don’t host my internet connection. All the fee does is let them collect so I can play the multiplayer that was included in a game I already fracking paid for. I don’t even want the free games every month because they’re utter bullocks. I’m not pissed because they’re giving away crap games, I’m pissed that I’m paying for people to get crap games that I don’t want. None of the stuff Sony gives away is free, we’re all paying for it. This is why I’m a PC gamer. No fracking subscriptions, excluding MMOs but those are bullocks anyway. I got a PS4 so I could play Bloodborne and KH3, but even I think they string of games that they give for free is crap. Look at what Xbone gets…some great AAA titles and almost every month. I hate to say it, but I regret going Playstation on this one. Bloodborne is amazing, but if I have to pay for a subscription to play online, I would have rather gone with the console that was going to make it worth my while.

I generally don’t complain about PSPLUS offerings, as the real bonuses for me come in the form of discounts across other stuff I would buy anyways, so I tend to save enough each year that PLUS pays for itself, but I do have to say I’m actually shocked as the low quality of this months offerings.

Again, not that I personally care, but the people that do have every right to be highly disappointed IMHO.

Do you want the opportunity to play/own a variety of free games b/c of your natural love to experience games? Then subscribe. Do you enjoy playing games online with your friends? Then subscribe. Do you enjoy the other services offered by being a Plus member? Then subscribe.

No one is forcing you to subscribe, no one is twisting your arm to play the free games.

Pay for the service, use what you want to use. If it’s that much of a big deal to get free “AAA” games, then sub by the month when that oh-so-special game goes free.

Appreciate what Sony/Playstation is doing for their gamers.

  When I buy a game with multiplayer aspects, I have to pay to enjoy those. That means all aspects of the service are of concern to me. Especially if Xbox one manages at least one good AAA a month. If they’re going to keep doing this, and ****ting on their customers, then I’m going to go to xbox and I can tell I won’t be alone.
