With Lunar Silver Star Story being my favorite game ever, I voted for that. Considering Star Ocean 2 is my 2nd favorite game, I must mention that since it’s an original title. Definitely mentioning Breath of Fire 3 and Parasite Eve. PS1 has so many gteat titles, and was a great console for RPG’s. WHERE ARE MY PS1 CLASSICS FOR ALL OF THESE GAMES!!??

SaGa Frontier 2, since it was not only my first ps1 game that I bought with my own money but also my first rpg that led me to love all rpgs.

Need For Speed 3 Hot Pursuit. Still have NOT seen its like in controls, going on 25 Years!?! Next, Castle Vania Symphony. You can play it anyway you want! The greatest weapons to grace a game of its like! Im getting dizzy just thinking about it….

Digimon World 3 and Spyro Year of the dragon for me since these two franchises are nowhere to be found in PSN Classic/PSone list. Hope SONY can help adding the games to the library.

Oh man, I wish I would have ten votes. Musashi, Megaman X, Harvest Moon, FF, Resident Evil, Legend of Dragoons, Crash Bandicoot, Digimon World and much much more!!:( All was super awesome to me! We need more from these titles! :D

As soon as I saw this, MediEvil was the FIRST game that came to mind. This game is COMPLETELY OVERDUE FOR ANYTHING!!! >:-[ It needs a PROPER remake of 1998’s original! The PSP’s was ok, but NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL! I had a hard time deciding between Resident Evil 1 and Final Fantasy VII/Legend of Dragoon… I ultimately chose FF VII because RE 1 has had an HD release (even though the PS3 version SUCKED in the ORIGINAL control department), and as much as I’m looking forward to the FINALLY announced FF VII “re-moot”- I’m as equally NOT looking forward to it.

Final fantasy VII all day long. If you don’t agree, you probably didn’t play it. It was an emotional rollercoaster and engaged the player like I’ve never seen before and likely won’t again. The game interface was ahead of its time, as well as the graphics. Theateria system is something i iss with every FF installment.

  I played VII multiple times (loved it) and consider Tactics to be a better game on all fronts. I even preferred the aesthetic of Tactics over VII.

So many great games to choose from… But if I had to narrow it down to two games that had me glued to the TV it would have to be Final Fantasy 7 and Chrono Cross hands down. I have to admit though… legend of dragoon, legend of legaia, Final Fantasy tactics… There are so many games on this list that deserve to be on the top.

The Playstation library is huge! 1 game out of that library? I chose Final Fantasy VII as it was a huge, deep game that brought final Fantasy forward. The PS1 rpg library was amazing, metal gear and God of War also. Gran Turismo started there. Best game was found on Playstation by most people at one point or another. Thank you for those days Sony. Now bring those days back, current games are lacking.

I love Ratchet and Clank since I was little and I still love it and noting is going to change that. They are still making RAC games and they are making a movie too. Not like Jak and D… who gave up and Bash band… that gave up. Sly is still here to but the new RAC will be the best one yet.

I’m just flabbergasted by all the support of Legend of Dragoon. I didn’t play it until its release on PSN (and I only played it until the end of disc 1) but man, what a poorly-written piece of garbage. At least it had prerendered backdrops :P

  I’ve played and finished most RPGs on the PSX and I’m not sure if these people have even played the game or if it’s one of the few RPGs they’ve played on the PSX, because The Legend of Dragoon was all about flash and very little substance.
  
  On The Legend of Dragoon, the main draw in the game is the additions, but in your human form that’s all you do. Defending is strategic with defense plus health regeneration, and items are self explanatory. But unless you’re in your dragoon form, you’re just repeatedly doing your one equipped addition over and over until you can equip the next more powerful one. Whenever you get the final additions, you’ll be taking off far more than your dragoon versions, and then you literally are doing nothing but additions at that point. The game has very little substance. It’s a very average RPG with the addition system being a QTE style combat.
  
  I don’t think it’s the best game, but as much praise as The Legend of Dragoon is given, these people would lose their mind over Shadow Hearts, because the game has a sort of similar style of combat, with more than a constant use of the attack function.

  Shadow Hearts is on the PS2 though, not the PSX. I was stating similar gameplay, not the same system.

I will go with Final Fantasy VII, it was actually the first Final Fantasy I’ve played and thanks to it I’m a huge fan of this amazing saga =D more FF on Ps4 please!

I went with The Legend of Dragoon (too bad the sequel was canceled), and Xenogears.
If I would’ve picked a 3rd, like Breath of Fire III, but even with Xenogears’ 2nd disc being very text heavy due to the huge scale of the original idea, it is a philosophical masterpiece, IMO. I can think of others … such as Suikoden II, but, well, only 2 picks.

Definitely Xenogears. If only Squaresoft didn’t pull the funding in order to make Final Fantasy VII the 2nd disc would had been amazing. Anyone who has played it and read Perfect Works knows the amazing story and plot behind it. The mechanics weren’t amazing, but it was PS1, so it’s understandable.

I voted Chrono Cross and Gran Turismo 2. Im afraid they wont win, but of the two, Chrono Cross will be pretty high I think. Those two are two of my favs ever. Also close is Resident Evil 2, FF7, and Suikoden II

Final Fantasy Tactics and Monster Rancher 2 take the cake for me. Definitely the two best original PlayStation games of the time. Insane amount of hours sunk into both and they are both still played by me to this day.

I would have also voted for Legend of Dragoon and Valkyrie Profile if I could have! The Digimon World series all three coming in at a tight fifth. The original PlayStation just had a crap ton of excellent titles to choose from.
