PS Plus: Free Games for July 2015

Prepare yourselves for a free games lineup the likes of which you’ve (probably) never seen! We’ve got rocket-powered cars, stealthy goblins, science cats,and even a little dab of arthouse wonder for good measure. All free starting next week for PS Plus members.

This month’s lineup includes four games playable on PS4, starting with the multiplayer mayhem of Rocket League. Use insane stunts and teamwork to score points in this fast-paced arcade game that even features a wholesome little cameo from Sweet Tooth, our favorite demonic ice cream truck.

Also included is the fantasy stealth game Styx: Master of Shadows, and the head-scratching puzzles of Mousecraft. And if you’re still not satisfied, why not embark upon an adventure that spans nine lifetimes in the surreal story of Entwined?

Rounding out the lineup is Rain on PS3 and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved on PS Vita. All these games will be free for PS Plus members starting on July 7th. If you want to see these games in motion, hit that play button below.

HOLY CRAP! This lineup is amazing! O_o

Who needs Guilty Gear Xrd or Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate for free titles when we get 3 amazing games instead!

First we have Rocket League! Which though it hasn’t released is fair to say is going to an amazing title just as good as the critically acclaimed hit game Monster Madness: Grave Danger!

Then we have Styx:Master of Shadows, a gem so amazing that despite releasing a year ago I hadn’t even heard of it until right now! What a treat!

That’s not all though as we also get Minecra.. wait no I mean Mousecraft! Who needs Minecraft when you have Mousecraft. Another well received title.

I would just to like to thank Dear Leader Sony overlord Adam Boyes for bestowing upon us such an amazing lineup of titles this month!

If it isn’t too much trouble I had a few requests of my own. Is there any chance we can throw in some Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, Haze and Sonic the Hedgehog (The BEST one from 2006) in there next month?

I mean if we are going to continue with releasing such quality titles for everyone why not give us the best of the best!

All joking aside WTF SONY! What happened to the month of and after E3 being when you add the best games to the collection. Ya I know you haven’t done that for almost 2 years now but bring the hit titles back!

Keep your shovelware. Ps4 is a big PoS. I must sadly admit I am one of the suckers who bought this waste of money. My PS+ sub finally runs out in 4 days and I wont ever be back. And since my console is pretty much useless without a
PSMinus sub, i’ll be selling it. Consoles are dying, they aint worth the space they take up. Although if it’s your only means to game, I can understand, But I’lll say this- You can EASILY build a PC that will utterly Destroy a PS4 for under 425.00 INCLUDING A Mouse, Keyboard And Windows 7 or 8.1. Yep it’s that easy; Just need 425.00 and bout 2-4 hours to build it and install your OS.

Dont get me wrong, if consoles werent such a waste and money grab I will recommend people still buy them, heck, i’d keep mine, but 2 years of collecting dust….. enough is enough and it must go.

To those who still love their PS4, more power to you and I hope you have a ton of fun with it, BUT know this- whether you love your ps4 or not, being a BLIND FANBOY will NOT help gaming or your console to ever improve; so if you love your PS4 great, but It could be better and you should never except anything less than maximum effort from any console you may own- Sony, MS, Nintendo or otherwise.

  You know what is really PC’s problem as a whole? It’s irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. It costs too much for entry. It’s minimal at best for the advantages of having one over a PS4 or XB1. It’s 100% unreliable when it comes to games as you have no way of knowing if they work or not due to your configuration.
  
  Batman Arkham Knight perfectly demonstrates why this “PC Master Race” nonsense is just that, nonsense. You trick out tons of money for your gaming rigs only to see better dust and sparkles in higher resolution as your Batmobile burns out, except of course for the game is broken, unplayable and removed from point of sale.
  
  Consoles are easier for the consumers, offer a better price point, more incentives to own over having a dedicated gaming PC.

  Either way, Rocket League is not really an indy or shovelware, it’s absolutely the best game given away this year. If you don’t believe me, go buy it for 20 bucks on Steam and get wrecked by those PS4 fanboys online ;0

Coming from a long time PS fan myself, this is getting horrible. When Microsoft is outdoing your own service lately it becomes a problem. Regardless of when the game came out, Assassin’s Creed 4 is still a AAA title compared to mostly indie games Sony offers. There’s nothing wrong with those experiences, but for games like “Knack” or “Killzone” not yet being on the service is definitely something to be worried about.

Slowly, it’s been becoming apparent Sony got too cocky early on in the lead and just went on cruise control with how they approached the system, updates, games, etc. Meanwhile, Microsoft had to fight tooth and nail to get where they are today, despite globally where they are in sales.

They’re offering a more attractive package. PS Now is a scam, but because Sony invested so much into Gaikai technology, they have no choice but to ride it. Even if the service was nothing but streaming, why couldn’t they simply have a check based system to determine which games you digitally owned on PS3, PS1, PS2, and let you play them indefinitely? Of course having the game downloaded and played locally is an entirely different thing.

I dunno, the only redeeming quality these days for Plus are the deals.

Solid PS4 line-up; not what I was hoping for PS3, they should have two PS3 only games and not count the cross-buy games, which tend to be simpler. Still waiting for a solid game for Vita, what happened to Batman as a free treat for the 5 year PS+ anniversary?

Step two: Ignore the stupid 2D platforming indie crud.
Step three: Download all of the cool 3D games, like Rocket League or Styx: Master of Shadows.

Rocket League is a multi player game with rocket cars playing soccer. Thats pretty much it. Saw the youtube videos. This is the type of game that you’ll play for 5 minutes then move one to something else. Meh.

  I hate sports, but I was in the beta for Rocket League and loved it. I fully intended to give them my money on release. I’ll gladly take it for free, but would have happily paid for it as well. It is a blast.

Just to add the fact that I see MS does 2 games a month, PSN is releasing 6 games altogether this month alone, it seems like PSN releases more than 2 games every month on average. I may get hated on for this, but two of my favorite indie games that have come out on PSN has been race the sun and Tower of Guns. They have also released Games like Airmech Arena, all of witch have good game play and were released free at some point in time. Haters going to hate. P.S. Assassins Creed games are fun, but wind up being the same, played and beaten them all.

  Not really. MS has 2 consoles and PS has 3. The games that can be played on both MS consoles through their monthly lineup is the same. On the other hand, Sony has a different library of games for each console (not talking about ports and remasters), so to get all 6 games you need 3 consoles while with MS yo need just one.
  Also, I’ve noticed that many PS+ games offered are now cross-play so there are no 6 different games per se.
  There’s nothing wrong with enjoying indies, there are some great games out there.

Blank you Sony! Nothing wrong with indies, skulls of the shogun is an awesome turn base strategy( the network sucks though for multiplayer) Olli Olli 2 is great too ( really love the soundtrack) but to not have any triple A games is mind blowing to me. Along with hardly any exclusives for the ps4 what’s the point of riding this ride. Did everyone who worked for Sony on the ps3 quit and you guys picked up Xbox workers?

Uh, isn’t Styx Master of Shadows a triple A game? It was released by Focus Home interactive, who released the Trackmania games, and Cyanide developed this game, which made Game of Thrones for Ps3 and 360. Some people should look at the game alot more closely as it might be a triple A game that has flown under the radar. Maybe Sony is giving us that triple A game that not alot of people heard about.

I was planning to buy Rocket League after playing in and loving the beta. Consider me thrilled to get it for free. I am not a sports fan, but this game is a total blast.

These comments are wild haha. Do NOT over look indie games. Also who the hell would want AAA only games on plus when you can get most of those old games dirt cheap on amazon and such ? Save that $50 that you would be using for plus a year and spend it on used AAA titles instead if you are not pleased with the service.

“You know what would be great? Take all these remasters that you’re bringing to PS4 from PS3 (like the Last of Us, God of War 3, and Uncharted) and make THOSE free on PS+. You know we all already bought them once, likely for the full $60 when they came out on PS3.

Sad think that Japan got Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate as gifts for PS Plus 5 Year Anniversary but we don’t get anything:(. I don’t speak about PS Plus games on july 2015 because Japan will get their own game and those two games are something else, so why US and UE don’t celebrate PS Plus 5 Years Anniversary?

So Japan gets Guilty Gear for ps4, and Batman Arkham begins for vita, and we get a bunch more indie titles? Last month was by far the worst lineup for ps plus, this month isn’t much better. At first I was okay with a few indies, but that seems to be all NA members get nowadays. How about some more Jrpgs, or actual games instead of Indies all the time they are starting to wear severely thin…

I can’t remember the last PS plus game I was actually excited for or happy to get. This games lately flat out suck IMO and aren’t what I play at all. There’s no chance I would keep my subscription if it wasn’t required to play online.

Do you guys just put all the suckfest titles no one bought in a hat and draw names to see what the line up will be?

Personally not a fan of either companies line up this month. Already have Black Flag on XBox One which I got free along with Unity. On 360 I Gold got Plants vs Zombies which I got free on PSN for the PS3 and Vita years ago. On this side I guess I will try Styx, though I thought that was also like a sequel. Rain seems like it will be short. That just leaves Geometry Wars 3 which I am excited about. Would actually like the first two on PSN.

  I do not mind indies, but on PS4 I would have preffered maybe Geometry Wars like Vita, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. As for triple A titles, not a lot of games I missed out on. Too bad The Order 1886 or Diveclub cannot really be on their. Those are good titles though even if The Order is under rated.

The fact that Rocket League is free will make that game go from a cult hit to a legendary IP for gaming. That is one of those that has absolutely taken the world by storm, and I can’t wait to see where it goes! Really excited to get my hands on it next week!

I haven’t played 1 indie besides Outlast which is worth my time the PS4 is just over saturated with garbage indies sorry I guess I’m not a true gamer then its nice to see Sony support these independent developers but come on make something good Resogun and Dead nation are still on my harddrive why because there both fantastic games but yet there not indies its all about tastes and preference besides nothing is free we pay to play now and these developers get 2% of plus money but its good to see the competition follow in Sony’s footsteps hopefully it forces them to step there game up anyways even tho I hate these indies plus always has discounts on AAA titles there’s value for everyone

Rocket League looks pretty cool with friends, especially with all the positive feedback it has. Styx and Entwined look nice pick ups as well. Geometry Wars looks fun for the Vita as well. I’d love Rain if my PS3 didn’t die a brutal death. The mouse game… Eh. Maybe. That being said, I’m not disappointed in the month at all. However, seeing as how the PS4 is almost 2 years old, you’d think we would get an AAA title every other month on PS4 which I would be fine with. Not a MGS5 demo but an actual triple A title. I don’t mind Indies, but if the PS3 can have games like Rain, Sleeping Dogs, and even Bioshock Infinite, a GOTY game that wasn’t even old, why can’t the PS4 have games like Knack or Second Son? It just doesn’t correlate at all. But still a good month regardless. I hope we can step away from the puzzle Indies though like the mouse one. We get puzzlers every month and the fact they’re predictable is extremely bad as far as game line up goes.

Sorry, but I am not interested in any of these titles. It’s a shame because I haven’t used the free game option since Transistor. When are we going to get some REAL GAMES for supporting you guys? Some triple A titles from last gen imported to PS4 or something? Xbox One is FINALLY getting there ish together, just to let you know…….

Do NOT look for any good games from this trash bag service, even the Driveclub they gave out recently is trash.

Logged in to comment for the first time just to say that I’m lovin’ this lineup. Rocket League sounds like so much fun. I’ve been on the fence about Styx since it came out, so now it’s a no-brainer. I don’t know much about MouseCraft, but I love most of the games that Curve has made. Entwined and Geometry Wars both look like fun for the Vita. I still haven’t gotten to MGS from June, and I’m still chipping away at The Witcher. I’m not going to have to buy a game for a while… sorry Batman.

Ac4 was a great game, but I played it, and a ton of other people played it too already. If it was free this month, more people would be complaining that one of the free games is a game that everyone’s played already than are complaining about more indie games. People only want AAA games that they haven’t played, so it’s impossible to please everyone every month.

So disappointed in PlayStation right now, Metal Gear Solid is probably the probably best game you gave PS4 and it wasn’t that great, please give us a good game for once. I’m already thinking about changing consoles because at least Xbox gets good games. Get it together.
