The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 5/26/2015
The Drop

The iconic Street Fighter series, known across the world for its razor-sharp gameplay and devoted fan community, is coming to PS4 this week in the form of Ultra Street Fighter IV. Prepare for the definitive edition of this legendary, tournament-grade competition.

Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 comes packed with every character, every level, and every piece of DLC released thus far, and the team has worked to eliminate input lag so the game would be more than capable of representing at tournaments.

If you’d rather fuse elements and sling spells, look no further than Magicka 2, which is also launching on PS4 this week. This top-down adventure cranks up the friendly fire and tasks you (and your friends) with decimating enemies with murderous magicks. Watch your aim, though — you don’t want to turn those close buddies of yours into a sizzling pile of digital bones.

For a full list of games coming to PlayStation this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

Might be some fun games, Octodad on PS Vita looks fun.

  • Did you play the Sneak Peak Ryan? Had fun with it and even got to play with some people. I had my eye on this game since last E3 when it was announced. Wished the first Magicka had come to PS3 back in the day.

    • I only played it during GDC this year! Had a blast, but it was a very short amount of time. ^_^

  • Always wanted to play octodad, my vita is ready :)

  • Awww yeah, Mega Man 8! Can’t wait to tear my hair out again with “Jump jump! Slide slide!”

  • Definitely excited to play Ultra Street Fighter IV again, especially with all the DLC. And i might check out Roundabout.. It looks strange, but fun.

  • Roundabout… Gets the money shot this week.

  • Still no Spyro the Dragon trilogy or Crash Bandicoot series on the PlayStation Vita in North America, Ryan?

  • Hey Ryan,

Does Crazy Climber support using the analogue sticks?

  • @Ryan

Ah ok. Well hopefully your get more hands on time when its out. Who knows maybe we will run into each other online :)

  • madmanwithabox12

Wasn’t Roundabout supposed to be on Vita also?

  • whats taking so long to make heavensward on psn its less than month and i would like to get in the early access.

  • New trophies for Ultra SFIV?

  • I doubt I’ll get away from the Witcher before I finish it but I’m still gonna pick of USF4 haven’t played it since it first originally launched.

  • can we address the issue that 99% of fightsticks don’t work on the PS4 before we talk about USFIV? any word if Capcom is utilizing Lab Zero’s code the way Skullgirls and MK:X have? without that support Ultra Street Fighter IV is worthless.

  • Finally I can play Rockman 8 on my Vita.

  • How bout some prices here? Too much trouble? Apparently.

  • Yes Mega Man 8 is finally coming out! Thank god i don’t need to make room any more since i just upgrade to a 32gb for my Vita!

  • @9 I dont believe they didnt add Crash/Spyro to Vita in NA nor did they bother with Tomba 2 English release. Its really disappointing.

  • @16 it has been confirmed that the USF4 PS4 port will use Lab Zero’s PS3 stick drive:

  • Please put the prices!

  • vita version delay/canned again

  • The-Boogie-Man80

I’ll definitely will be getting ultra street fighter IV and magicka 2

  • When can we start to, pre-load ultra street fighter 4? And pre-pay? I’m waiting to get it.

  • Sweet! I cannot wait to play SF4 Ultra on PS4.

  • The Game of Thrones, Episode 4 is supposed to be released this week. Maybe you can confirm it for us!

  • Is Mega Man 8 in English? I just want to make sure that it is not in Japanese like some of the older Mega Man titles. If in English, I will be getting it for the Vita.

  • Finally you will all taste the consequences of not having any input lag whatsoever. ;)

  • How many gigabytes is Ultra Street Fighter 4 going to take up on the HDD Ryan?

  • @16

They’ve already said it’s going to use Lab Zero’s driver. We just don’t know if they going to do it properly, or poorly like MKX did.

  • Mega Man 8, on the Playstation Store, this Tue… I mean Wednesday. YAY!
    Happy Happy Joy Joy

To celebrate the long-awaited digital release of the PSone game Mega Man 8.
I’m going to recite quotes from one of the anime cutscenes in the game below.

The reason why I love this cutscene in the whole game, is that between the events of MM7 & MM8, Dr. Thomas Light was Diagnosed with Elmer Fudd syndrome (which means he will speak like him till his death before the events of Mega Man X).

Dr. Light: These, these are the energy resources
Dr. Light: But I’ve never seen this type of earth
Dr. Light: I don’t where this energy came from, but we can’t let it fall into Dr. Wahwee’s hands

Dr. Wily does his evil maniacal laughter

Dr. Light: You must recover all the energy immediately W-Mega Man

Mega Man: But where is Dr. Wily

Dr. Light: That’s a good question. We may be able to locate another energy emission from the radar room. When we find that meator, we’ll find Dr. Wahwee.

^Please note: If Disney loses the film distribution & home media distribution rights to the first two Narnia films by the end of the year, I will no longer be hashtag requesting this game.

  • @Ryan

Magicka 2 can be downloaded now (which i did) but for some reason all the preorder bonus items that came with the game arent able to be downloaded. Keeps giving some error.

This is my first PSN preorder so not sure how it works exactly. Do we have to wait till the release date to be able to download all the bonus items for the game? I would think if you can download the game you would be able to also download the bonus items too.

  • I know this is a USA site but i wish those PS4 ‘Arcade Archives’ would come to the UK :(

  • Anyone know which date does ArcaniA retail comes out? I can’t find it, it seems to differ depending on the store!

  • I strongly recommend Arcania on Ps4 to anyone who like Action/Adventure RPGs. I originally bought it on PS3 and suffered through it because it ran absolutely TERRIBLE, but the game was good. Had I known that there was going to be a Ps4 release, which by the way, runs AMAZING, I would have waited to play it.

Again, I highly recommend Arcania PS4! It’s actually a lot like The Witcher 3, just with smaller environments.

  • O.O

Mega Man 8? That’s kind of a nice surprise. Never did get to play that one. Cool beans.

  • @26 It will be in English since Megaman 8 was released in English on PS in North America and Europe. The reason 1-6 aren’t is because they never got English PS releases.

@16 They already stated earlier this week that USFIV is using Lab Zero’s PS3 fightstick drivers. It’s in an earlier blog post about USFIV.

  • Please SONY Let know something about this games supouse to comming for PS VITA.. Those Games are cancelled or still development or just not comming to vita any more, PLEASE SONY Let know a litlte bit information about this games

    RE Revelation 2

And other games supouse comming to Ps Vita. …

  • More VITA games!! gring even MORE! XD

  • Ancient PC games and indies, I’m glad I’m a PC gamer now so I don’t have to be excited for this. lol

  • so much of a PC gamer you have time to post on PS4 site… agree i want more but not going to ***** at whats out… i jumped from ps2 to PC to ps4 got to admit 90% of pc games are ****!

  • RckChlkJhwk2007

Yay for Mega Man 8!!! Please bring the rest of the games to the PSN Store!!!

  • Capcom should port Mega Man & Mega Man X collection (from PS2) to PS4 & Vita, not just a PS2 classic but make them a full port.

  • and again we have more evidence that sony is still trying to force free online playing ps3 players to the paid subscription model ps4. even more so because week after week there are even less vita games because vita releases also support the ps3.

    stop it sony.
the ps4 hasn’t proven it’s worth yet (and never will as long as it forces it’s fans to pay for monthly subscription fees, also known as that MAIN SELLING POINT THAT MADE PSN AND PS3 THE SUCCESS THAT IT IS NOW)

  • @isenberg

What are you even talking about? Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything, and don’t blame Sony for the developers’ choices of platforms. Heck, there are still PSone Classics coming out, which are compatible with PS3, PS Vita, and PSP (and *not* PS4). I’m not sure how “Vita releases support the PS3”, but there are four Vita releases this week which is hardly a slim number. There’s even a PS3 exclusive out this week.

Or are you complaining about the Street Fighter port? That’s already available on PS3, I don’t see how that would force anybody to switch to PS4.

  • Saving my money for {{{GODZILLA}}} PS4 [[
[8 more weeks]]] hope to see it on the PSN

  • This is going to be a long one 7/17/15
