Powers Premiere Available Now, Only on PlayStation

Today is the day! On behalf of team Powers, it is our pleasure to tell you that the wait is over – Powers is available now to watch on PS3, PS4 and online.

If you’ve been following us, you already know that Powers is not your normal, shiny superhero story – it asks deep and challenging questions. Powers explores the concept of what it would be to be a superhero in today’s celebrity obsessed culture. What if having a superpower is like having an addiction? What if you could fly, but you still had all the vulnerabilities of an average human being? And what if you lost your powers, and had to police your ex-mates while living as a mere mortal? In this show, not all people with powers are heroes, making the storyline mature and the characters deep, complex and challenging.

Interested? Good. You can watch the first episode of Powers FREE today – all you have to do is click here to immediately start watching. Everyone – whether you are a PS Plus member or not – can watch the first episode for free.

PlayStation Plus members will be able to watch the entire season free, along with enjoying all the other great benefits of being a member.

The first three episodes launch today on PlayStation Store at one time for those of you who like to binge watch. Episode one is also free on PlayStation Store and weekly episodes will release every Tuesday until the season finale on April 28th.

And with that, PlayStation proudly brings you our first-ever scripted original content series! We have worked on this series in partnership with Sony Pictures TV for the past several years, and I think you will really enjoy it. If you like what you see, be sure to let us know at @PowerstheSeries using #PowersonPS.

  • If you pirate the show, then you’ll have no business complaining if there won’t be a second season.

  • And you guys do realize that there’s more than one Playstation Blog? That’s right, this is not a “global” site. This is the U.S. Blog. For EU news you go to the EU Blog here;

    https://blog.eu.playstation.com/

I know, I know.. “global age of yadda, yadda, yadda…”. “They should realize that there’s more countries yadda, yadda, yadda”. Not that easy guys. Not that anyone will listen, because they’ve already made their minds up.

  • Thanks for screwing Canada out of Powers access.

  • Do you plan to make another show? If so, when? I love this show by the way… POWERS is awesome!

  • When can we expect news on the Canadian/non-U.S. release? This lack of transparency and news is upsetting.

  • Putting another vote for the series being made available to Canada.

Must admit that I’m puzzled as to why Sony couldn’t have managed a world-wide release given that their funding the content – there shouldn’t be any rights-holders to negotiate with to make it happen.

And yeah, awful PR not telling folks ahead-of-time.

And no ETA? Do you really want to keep coming back day after day, checking and then complaining?

  • It’s no use messaging them here on the forums, apparently. I’ve tried here, I’ve tried tweeting them, I’ve tried DM’ing them, Facebook, Standard E-mail. I haven’t managed to get anyone to even reply with a dismissive “You’ll get it when you get it, you Canadian scum”. Sony has lost a fan in me. Which is a shame because nearly all of my personal electronic purchases have been Sony since I first made enough money to buy myself things.

  • So even if i pay Plus, i dont get to watch the show because im not in the US, that is stupid

  • You might just have lost a lot of viewers.

  • raulalexander, you can get Powers even if you don’t have Playstation Plus, but you have to pay for it per episode. Plus users get it “for free” as a bonus. Contrary to what the gamer cognoscenti has been repeating in the hopes that it will become true, it is not exclusive to Plus members.

  • CaptainAlbator, you misunderstood raulelexander. He pays for Plus. He’s not located in the U.S. though, so he can’t legally watch it as of now. The show is half way through its first season and nobody outside of the U.S. has been given any information or timeframes to expect regarding legally watching it.

  • Where can i get Walker’s sun glasses!? Is it just a prop? Either way, I’m liking the show and has exceeded my expectations. This is also coming from someone not really into comics. Looking forward to the next showing :)

  • Hello all,

I was wondering how I would be able to watch Powers on my PS4. It is an US model with US playstation+. However since I am in the military and I am currently living in japan I do not have an American IP I know Netflix has fixed this problem for base internet, was wondering if there is something else I could try and do.

  • I love this show.

  • I love this show!!!
Such magnetism…Christian Walker is very compelling (trying to prove his worth) while his teacher; Eddie Izzard gained a new fan. Never really was a fan of Noah Taylor and still am not impressed. However, who are the writers? They have captivated my attention. I have finished the entire season in only three days…lol
    The show must go on!
How do we pull it up? I saw that Reddit reviews where only at 53%, I don’t want that to be the primary basis!

  • Has anyone found new information about the Canada/other regions release date? I have been looking up on the net and I really want to watch this show.
