PS Plus: Free Games for March 2015

Another collection of excellent games joins PlayStation Plus this month, and you’ve come to the right place for details!

Starting things off on PS4 is Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee — New ‘n’ Tasty! This side-scrolling adventure reboots the PlayStation classic with new visuals, new sound, enhanced controls, and even more dark humor than before. Also coming to the PS4 lineup is Valiant Hearts: The Great War. This colorful puzzle game carries with it a heavy subject matter, as it follows four intersecting lives (and a loyal canine companion) during the first World War.

On PS3, gamers with PS Plus can download the critically-acclaimed Papo & Yo, alongside the wit-inducing Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. And on PS Vita, watch out for OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood and CounterSpy.

These games will be available for Plus members when PlayStation Store updates later today.

  • I’d rather have fewer but better games. Give us one AAA instead of 4 indies.

  • WHOOOO! 2 cool games for vita, and Sherlock homes yeayha! I never played the OG abe but hopefully its fun.

  • Awesome game selection :D

  • does anyone know if oddworld abe’s oddysee – new n tasty is coming to vita anytime soon?

  • For everyone wanting to play Oddworld on the Vita and PS3, it is crossbuy and cross save. The other other two platforms aren’t out yet, but will be soon. So you should pick this up since it’s free this month.

  • Seriously, you made us wait for this? Playstation Plus IGC has been a huge disappointment since the launch of PS4. If it weren’t for online multiplayer I wouldn’t have renewed as this will be 4 months in row where I won’t download a single “free” game. Thanks for nothing, again. What a joke.

  • My only complaint is that Valiant Hearts isn’t cross-buy but I think that’s the usual for Ubisoft not to make their titles cross-buy on Plus. Still I will give it a go on the PS4 even if only on remote play when my wife makes me leave my man-cave! Super happy to get OlliOlli2 and would have purchased it today anyway if it wasn’t on plus. Never played the original OddWorld so looking forward to trying that out and already own CounterSpy. Although cross-buy only played it on Vita and always thought it was pretty solid, 7 out of 10 for me and never had any technical issues with it like some have spoken about earlier in the comments.

  • Nice PS+ perks this month. loved Valiant Hearts but for me the two gems in this are Olli Olli 2 and Sherlock Holmes.
I love PS+ because of great game selections like those two.

  • Well the titles are ok…. Microsoft won this month with there free games for gold giving away Tomb Raider & Rayman Legends. Wow Sony, I was expecting atleast one AAA game…

  • Already bought new’n’tasty and counterspy so this update is lost on me…I should just stop buying anything that isn’t triple-a

  • @358 LootenantDan80 Playstation gave Tomb Raider free long ago and Rayman Legends was $11 just a couple weeks ago. If you’re a long time PS+ subscriber, this is the better deal. Oddworld New and Tasty was priced higher before this. ;)

  • I feel like I’m being trained to not ever participate in any PSN sales, because a month later it’ll just show up on Plus for free. Anyways… Counter Spy is a great game and you should all try it.

  • @brown_elvoose why the heck would you buy those two games? I won’t even play them free. Why don’t you stick to free Facebook games if you’re going to play utter garbage.

  • FFS Sony. Thats a ****** month, keeping my fingers crossed for april.

  • More garbage, yay~~

  • SLEEPLESS_KNIGHT

Sort of a mixed bag of games I like, games I don’t care for and some I already own. I have to say as a multi-system owner the “other guys” March lineup of free games is more impressive than this. However it goes back and forth with PS+ generally being better and really the reason for the mere existence of a similar program from them in the first place.

  • Incredible, incredible update this month! Oddworld, Olli Olli 2, Counterspy, and Papo & Yo. I don’t know what to try first!

  • Gah. Forgot to add last month’s games to my collection. Is there any way to auto-add games?

  • Great line up this month! Hotline Miami and Octodad for April?

  • Thank you PS your my hero!……\(^▽^)/

  • To be totally honest I was pretty scared when we didn’t get the low down on the PS+ games right away, but what we’re getting is well worth the day-late wait : ) thanks guys! This is why I lay my armor in the Sony camp. Oh and Clements .. BEYOND!

  • People are so stupid. The titles Xbox are giving out for 360? Yeah, they already have been given out by Sony during the time when people were mad Xbox wasn’t even giving out free games yet. It actually costs more to buy Oddworld than it does to buy used disk copies of them both as well. Thanks guys.

  • I’m fine with all these independent less-than-stellar games because that’s where I find most of the innovation, interesting mechanics and different art styles. However, that’s not to say we couldn’t enjoy a free, older AAA game every once in a while.

Injustice, First Light, Swapper, Rogue Legacy and Transistor all redeemed the latest lineups. I’ll have to play the March games to judge better, but my current hypothesis is that this is the worst lineup in a few months. 4 similar games for PS4 players is just a pill to swallow while hoping for better days.

It could be worse, but I think Sony could set the bar a little higher than that.

  • Good lineup this month. Bummed that I purchased Valient Hearts last month, but such is life. It was a good game for the price, and definitely worth the DL for Plus subscribers.

  • Seems like the better games show up on the PS3, which I still have, but never play, because it’s been moved to a room I don’t play in much. I wish they would up the PS4 offerings.

  • While a little later than normal, it’s definitely worth it! It’s not like the games won’t come out by the time they are supposed to, so honestly not a lot to complain about. Don’t be entitled!

  • Great list of games! I don’t have any of them and I want to play/try all of them. Happy gaming gamers!

  • Man sony completely given up on actual ps vita games in IGC for plus. Looks like I’m really convinced not to resubscribe this june. Gonna subscribe again for just a month if I see a huge plus discount. As for yearly subscription nah ain’t gonna happen.

  • nice Thanks!! I was waiting for valiant hearts

  • Why is it that the past 2 months ps3 gets a real game and ps4 only gets indie games

  • Ive always wanted to play the reboot of Oddworld. This is even better then the rumored games.

  • awesome lineup

  • Nice!would of loved a decent rpg ddo

  • Excellent line up. Quality games for ps4 and ps3. Ps plus is getting much better these last few months.

  • Garbage games for ps4 once again. “Hey guys enjoy your brand nee next gen console and all the monthly free side scrolling puzzle games it can handle!”

  • I was hoping to see another sale along with this update.

  • xbox has rayman and tombraider and we have this ?

  • Xbox won March… Rayman and Tomb Raider are both stellar games.

  • I don’t even like indie games.. And none of my friends do, can we please get something other than all indie games for once? Are you scared to give up something good?

  • Fantastic lineup of games. Great work!

  • They really need to bring more AAA games to the table :(

  • Sumthn told me not to get Valiant hearts yet coz I thot IT wud come out on ps+ and my dream came true, thanks a lot…

  • Note for anyone trying to platinum Sherlock Holmes: make sure to watch each possible ending as you play the game because you can’t just go back. Also, make sure to pet Toby during each case. It’s a great game and a good get on PS3.

  • Well.. this is disappointing :/ its been over a year and my PS4 Library is full of Indie games that I don’t play… Indie games are fun but for like an hour… then you don’t play them again… I bought PS+ because of the offers but I ain’t happy with it…. I don’t think I will renew my subscription… I don’t even know if I am happy with the PS4 anymore with all the lately issues and empty promises like Drive Club… I am actually thinking of changing to Xbox and play FH6 if this disappointments keep up. :S

  • Wow. Awesome month. Loaded with great selections! Thanks guys. Hard to believe people complaining about such interesting titles, especially Valiant Hearts.

  • I know there’s a lot of ppl who call themselves “gamers”, but don’t like indie game… Know that’s a big mistake, there’s a lot of indie games that beat most of AAA games to a pulp, but about this lineup, to have just ONE SINGLE GAME that I was about to purchase, makes me really happy, so I don’t have any complains, only gratitude for the service offered. Thank you playstation. Take good care of my money.

  • @394 Kenneth,

Driveclub is amazing now. The additions are great and the fixes are perfect. You should just pick it up. I took a chance and just bought it. Couldn’t be happier, it’s so fun.

  • Another amazing month!! Thanks guys. And to all those haters (who whine no matter what and probably aren’t older than 10 years) , a game doesn’t have to cost millions to be AAA or great. Those little diamonds offer quality and innovation especially for their budget! Last month we had Transistor for example where IMO is by far the best PS4 game (along by Resogun IGC earlier too!!). And for last , those games every month as a pack cost more than 50euros and we have it for 5euros.(more or less) So, grow up…

  • Wow! Amazing selection, keep it up :)

  • Oh wow! I’ve wanted to play New n Tasty for awhile now! I had the original on PS1 and loved it. It was probably my 2nd favorite game on the system right behind FFIX, this is amazing!
