PlayStation Now Subscriptions: New for March 2015

Back in January we were excited to finally unveil the PlayStation Now subscription service and we have been ecstatic with the feedback so far. In February, we added a round of additional games to the service.

For those of you unfamiliar with the subscription, you can choose from two subscription plans on your PS4 — monthly for $19.99, or a three-month package for $44.99 (about $15 per month) for unlimited game streaming to all your PlayStation Now compatible devices.

Today I’m excited to let you all know which games will be added to the PlayStation Now subscription in March!

  • Sony has to be the worst for transparency. It ****es me off. Here we are in March and no annoucement. Seriously get your **** together.

  • How about the other subscription service that everyone’s waiting to hear about?

  • If you game a lot, PS Now is pretty good investment at $15 per month (3 month plan) for over 100 PS3 games. Lets compare… 1. Remember Blockbuster? I remember when I used to rent 1 game for like $6-7 for 5 days and was perfectly fine to pay that and that was like 17 years ago. I also had to drive back and return it…. 2. Redbox? It is $2 for 1 day. You are gonna need more than 1 day so you will probably spend like $6 for 3 days…… 3. Gamefly is $22.95 per month and it is 2 games out at a time. Just comparing those options, PS Now is the best option for rental…… 4. PSN hourly/daily/weekly rental? That is a complete joke and way too much.

  • Continue…
And a lot of those PS Now games are great games so there is something for everyone. There are many people out there that will play a game a few days and beat it and never want to play it again. Pay $30-60 for a game and play it just for a few days and beat it and never play it again isn’t that good of an investment either. Also, you could try out some of these games and if you like it so much, you can go out and buy it later. And if you were thinking about buying a certain game in the future and you tried it out on PS Now and didn’t like it, you just saved yourself some money from not purchasing the game in the future. Lastly, if you have a couple gamers in the same house, it would be a great investment and be worth it. In all seriousness, the PS Now looks more promising than the PS+ garbage that were are getting. I think people who expect like $10 month deal are being way too unrealistic.

  • I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony decided to phase out the PS+ games in favor of PS Now. Even if the freebies do get announced, you trolls will end up bashing it anyway. I hope they do just so they spite you. Haha

  • I thought these were the PS+ games.

  • Mutsu_Enmei_Ryuu

    @147 TwinDad,

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate your reply. And as you’ve said it yourself, there is no reason to rage over an announcement. I believe this is a result of the ‘instant’ technology era we live in, where everything has to be done or said as soon as possible, people eventually becoming impatient over trivial matters. Obviously, there is some marketing factor to build the excitement and anticipation over products, but this is another story. Have a great day ;)

  • Who gives a crap? Just give us backwards compatibility for those of us who already have these games. Hell, let us pay for backwards compatibility so we can use our discs. Why the hell would I subscribe to this if I have them already? There’s no incentive here.

  • the day i buy a ps4 its the day sony decides to ignore its community.regretful feelings coming in 3…2…1…ouch

  • @enrico – Wrong on all counts. Lots of incredible games there. Just because YOU don’t like all 100 of them is entirely irrelevant. There are games for all tastes. Nobody is expected to want every single one.
And you clearly don’t know what’s there anyway; Only about 10% of them were in the IGC, and not every current or past PS+ subscriber picked them up when they were free, so now they can rent them if they want.
You’re just a typical kid who likes to bash Sony because you feel entitled to have everything you want at a price your parents will allow you, yet you still spend it all on PlayStation anyway.

  • it’s less than 17 hours now and still no word about the march ps+

at this point i didnt care anymore….

at least i can enjoy helldiver BUT if sony decide to go DOWN(AGAIN!?)

well i might stop subscribing ps+…

  • Apparently a leaked poster from Germany shows two of the free PS Plus games as Lego Marvel and Octodad, although another source says they are not going to reveal the new games until next week.

  • well if sony could just give us answer about this matter it would be great…

but no they just act dismissive about it and keep posting all that game and reply all that stuff…
but when people ask about march ps+? it almost feels like they have autocensore for that spesific question/comment…

  • StikStakeSchtick

I was initially piqued by the program and even the cost (based on 3mths) wasn’t so bad. *UNTIL* I noticed that NBA Jam was not included – which raised an eyebrow on what exactly I was getting for $45. Granted this is like Netflix in some ways – we don’t have every single movie/TV show at our disposal. Then again, we aren’t stuck with mostly w/60s/70s/80s shows — unlike PS Now which has mostly (if not all) older PS3 titles. Smells bad.

That said, the more I like – Plus members should get a discount and/or they need to up the ante and perhaps offer us something like a year for $100. That would be more reasonable based on the caliber of the offerings.

  • this month we will not have free ps+ games.

  • can we see The Elder Scrolls Skyrim possibly with lower loading screens

  • really you can rent new games from the red box cheaper

  • + PanTheMan16

I just did a comparison and 26 games in the ps now subscription have been offered in IGC on PS PLUS for PS#. Thats alot more then 10 percent.

Also PS PLUS members already have 2 of the games in there IGC collection for ps4 contrast and Spelunky

I understand that alot of people weren’t around from the start. I was for along time until three weeks ago and let my subscription expire because i was sick of all the crap sony is pulling now they are the number 1 console.

Like where is the announcement of the PS PLUS linup for people who pay for the service or at least an explaination.

I encourage people who are upset to speak with your wallet and don’t resubscribe to plus if you don’t thing are only going to get worst.

Don’t subscibe to PS NOW until they make it a reasonable price and offer ps plus subscribers a discount since you already have alot of the PS NOW games in your IGN collection. And they don’t give decent store discounts like they used to.

  • What I want to see from PSNow’s ability to bring older console games to PS4 is the option to simply buy games at a reasonable price, or rather, a “permanent” license to stream them, like we would a playstation classic on PS3. They already price many 3 month rentals similarly to what you might expect to pay to buy such games. Then I could have digital replacements for my older library that I could play with my PS4. I could also consider discarding old console hardware. The next step beyond that is offering cross-buy or a cheap upgrade option so that PSN titles already purchased for PS3 could be streamed via PSNow on PS4.

  • Hi is it only me, or has Opera browser stopped working for the Sony PS store?

  • playstation now should just be added to playstation plus and make it 60 and then we can rent games

  • @deadmanjedi – Nothing wrong with PS+’s offerings. First of all, that’s 72 games a year for $50. As I said to the whiney kid, not everyone is expected to like absolutely everything. If you enjoy a handful of games from the IGC, you’ve gotten your money’s worth. For me, Kingdoms of Amalur alone was worth it. I loved that game and got many, many more hours of playtime from that than the vast majority of games I’ve paid $60 for.

Second, the IGC is not what PS+ is all about. It’s not something most people think about, but cloud storage for game saves is one of the best things – if not the best, depending who you talk to – about PS+. It is what ultimately convinced me to subscribe in the first place, and I am so glad I did. I had my PS3 for about 4 years and my hard drive died. Thankfully, I was able to retrieve nearly all of my saves when I replaced the HDD. So that $50 comes out to $4.16/month to preserve my saves. That’s a great value.

Third, we get discounts. For people who buy a lot of games, that adds a ton of value to the service.

  • Fourth, (now) online play. That is another one of those things that makes the service worth it. Yes, we were spoiled last-gen and didn’t have to pay, but it was eventually going to happen anyway and we really can’t blame Sony for wanting to turn a profit. Xboners pay for XBL JUST for online play. We get SO much more.

And let’s not forget early beta access. That in itself is not a good enough reason to subscribe, but it’s a nice perk.

  • And to clarify, I know that XBL offers (a little) more than just online play. My point is that it’s the only real incentive for them. People would not subscribe to XBL if it weren’t for that. On the other hand, many people subscribed to PS+ long before it was required for online play because we get so much more for it, and we pay less.

  • I’m hoping (but also very highly doubting) that these games are going to be (in my opinion, of course) very good. I always have my hopes up and am continually let down. I know I’m sounding selfish, and the simple solution would be to NOT pay for the service, but if I didn’t, my PS4 would be of no use. please please please PLEASE make these next few months as awesome as possible for your lack of excellent service. time after time has the PSN been down, so please make this right.

  • Pantheman16

You said only 10% of the ps now games were ever offered on ps plus IGC I checked and 26 games were offered before.

    Thats over 25%

And sony hardly offers plus members extra sales discounts anymore.

Last month they went 4 weeks amd only offerded a few discounts.

I was a plus member for along time but the way they are treating there customer’s I let it expire 4 weeks ago.
It’the only thing I can do to show my unhappyness with the service . They certainly don’t listen to there costomers.

You think I’m going to trust sony with online saves. They have a great track record with online security .And great network infrastructure.

And if something goes wrong with your online saves don’t worry about it sony won’t say anything.

  • @Pantheman16 If you read the comments you’ll see that you’re one of the only few people who are fully happy with this crappy service they’re offering to replace backwards compatibility, which is something basic and could have been given out for free with just a little bit of extra planning. They just want to rip us off like they have been doing ever since the PS4 launched. And the processor difference between PS3 and PS4 is BS.

  • Why did Playstation plus games for march 2015 has not been announced? this is unacceptable im paying you guys 50 a year and i am promised 2 free games on each console each month. That should have been announced last week. What is the hold up?

  • PS Now is this generation’s PS Home – a failure Sony is too proud to acknowledge and shut down as it should.

  • Whatever happened to Kristine Steimer doing the ps plus announcements? Just curious?

  • PS+ games for march 2015 please … !

  • PS+ update, please. I’m paying for a service. It isn’t unreasonable to want that service to continue unimpeded or at least be updated on why that service is being interrupted. Will there be no PS+ games this month? Will they be late this month? Is the IGC being cut off altogether on the down low? Who knows? Some of the thoughts running through people’s heads are simple and some are radical. I’d love to disagree with the radical ones, but having silence from the people I’m giving my money to is concerning, so I can’t.

  • A moderator just told me in the spanish blog:

“Os pedimos disculpas por el retraso en anunciar los juegos de este mes y sentimos no poderos confirmar fecha, esperamos poder anunciarlos si no hoy, en los próximos días.”

    In english:
“We apologize for the delay to announce the games for this month, and we are sorry we can’t confirm a date, we hope we can announce them if not today, in the next days.”

IN THE NEXT DAYS. So, maybe we won’t even have the games tomorrow.

  • If the games won’t be ready, then tell us, Sony.

Keeping quiet does NOT make things better–Often, it makes people more upset. If you had announced that there would be a delay a week ago, this wouldn’t be an issue right now.

  • When are we going to find out the igc for April?

  • @176 – The subscription is annual, not monthly, so 4 weeks with few sales is irrelevant compared to the Many sales offered over the course of one year, or even 3 months for those who are on a trial subscription.
You’ve conveniently chosen not to respond to the biggest points, being the more-than-70 IGC entries and online multiplayer. If you are a super casual gamer and don’t care about the PS+ perks, then so be it. But you can’t realistically claim that the service doesn’t provide a tremendous and generous value.

  • @177 – Your ignorance isn’t helping your case. Again, it’s a rental service. Your conspiracy theories about why it exists are absurd. Any why are you even talking about it anyway if it doesn’t interest you? Like I said, see how much it will cost to rent 100 games for 3 months from Blockbuster or Gamefly.
Yes, backwards-compatibility could have been done, but it would have increased the cost of the console. PS4 has been out for over a year now so get over it. If you want to play PS3 games, the play on PS3 or rent them with PS Now.
But as I said, it’s clear that you aren’t interested in any of that, so I won’t be responding to you again.
My advice: stop being a self-entitled brat. Sony owes you nothing. If you want something they’re selling, then buy it and don’t complain the entire time. It doesn’t help and it just makes you unlikeable. And yes, you do care.

  • It’s time Sony, give us the IGC lineup

  • Hey we are waiting on our free games and its already march third

  • FREE GAMES RESIDENT EVIL REVELATIONS , BEFORE I DECIDE TO GET 2ND ONE

  • Do you know when the ps now games for March are playable ?

  • For those of us in Europe with a monthly salary of 400 euro PS Now is a unfeasible service at the current price.I prefer PS Plus a great deal because it lets me buy games while I get some games that interest me but I wouldn’t buy on my own accord.

  • I’m thinking of renew my PS+ subscription, but where are the March announcement for PS+???

  • Obligatory “PS+?”.

  • @Pantheman16 You are blinded by your fanboyism.

  • + Mando44646 – Hit it right on the head, I’ve put out considerable coin for an existing PS3 library, I’m not paying for it again. If the plan is to eventually allow the games you own already to be made available to you, then fine. But 20 dollar PER MONTH paywall to access my library?

My PS3 thanks your streaming service for keeping it from being decommissioned. Gamestop is having a fire sale on used ps3 games anyway. Stock up while you can.

  • plus games for march where are they? you know the games that we paid for already?

  • So i have to buy ps plus and ps now!? not worth it, you Should get everything free if your ps plus subscriber

  • What about the PS+ games??? the last sales offers were quite good if you own a PS Vita, but no PS4 discounts??? better free games… not “transistor” c’mon be serious!!!

  • @198 – You are insane.

@199 – Transistor is one of the best and most popular PS4 games to have graced the IGC. You are in the minority on that one.
