PlayStation Now Subscriptions: New for March 2015

Back in January we were excited to finally unveil the PlayStation Now subscription service and we have been ecstatic with the feedback so far. In February, we added a round of additional games to the service.

For those of you unfamiliar with the subscription, you can choose from two subscription plans on your PS4 — monthly for $19.99, or a three-month package for $44.99 (about $15 per month) for unlimited game streaming to all your PlayStation Now compatible devices.

Today I’m excited to let you all know which games will be added to the PlayStation Now subscription in March!

PlayStation Now Subscriptions: New for March 2015

inFAMOUS 2

We all know you enjoyed running around virtual Seattle as Delsin in inFAMOUS: Second Son on PS4, but have you seen the world through Cole MacGrath’s eyes? For those of you that missed the second installment of inFAMOUS, now is the time to catch up.

Twisted Metal

What would PlayStation Now be without a visit from our dear friend Sweet Tooth? Relive the vehicular carnage as you stream the latest iteration in the Twisted Metal franchise.

R-Type Dimensions

Do you like to kick it old school? Then R-Type Dimensions is for you. A lovely package of both R-Type 1 and 2 with a new feature that allows you to shift between original and newly revamped graphics — R-Type Dimensions is still the extremely challenging, side-scrolling shooter you remember.

PlayStation Now

Alone in the Dark: Inferno

Operation Flashpoint: Red River

Boasting 4-player co-op in this geopolitical shooter, Operation Flashpoint: Red River delivers the full intense modern day shooter experience. Team up with your friends (or play solo with complete squad AI) to take on the unique modes.

  • @Cloud442 The PS4 isn’t backward compatible with PS3 games because the processor, the PS3 use a Cell processor and the PS4 use an AMD processor. Theoretically It’s impossible for the PS4 to run PS3 games natively because the architecture of the processors is completelly different, also the PS4 doesn’t have enough raw power to emulate PS3 games.

Sony needs to release a giant PS console with the PS2, PS3 and PS4 hardware, capable of run every PS game ever released.

  • I’d probably get PSNow but my ISP added a data cap to all plans so doubt I’ll ever get it. On a side note, why not announce PSPlus Lineup for March too?

  • Are these added to PS now with no games going away? If they keep adding value to the PS Now sub I might go for it. It’s pretty expensive for that and plus, so I won’t get both unless there were a ton of games I really want to play on now.

I would be totally be buying Now games if it was permanent for the 90 day price.

  • Our internet is slow 6 down and 1.2 up. I don’t think PS Now will work very well for me.

  • when do the games arrive..i get that it says march but what day in march?

  • Ok, but what happened to the PS Plus games for this month?

  • MARCH LINEUP PS+?

  • You should be honest with us and tell us if you have not announce the games because you are working on smething big or you just have not the games under close contrtacts yet because people are expecting something big out of this delay and that will just make them more angry.

  • I mean PS+ games, sorry for not make myself clear.

  • Yeah! What they said!

  • Dante what are you thinking it’s going to be? Just curious is all.

  • I think they just released the PS+ games.

  • Nevermind it was just a troll from a group I am in.

  • You guys are so entitled it’s ridiculous. First of all PS Now is a service. You aren’t paying for the individual games, you’re paying for access to the service. It’s just like how Netflix works, pay a subscription fee and access all the content. Over 100 games for $15-$20 a month is perfectly reasonable.

  • Yes but not if they are taking games away every month.

  • And Netflix is $7.99 a month.

  • Sony, you guys really need to get your **** together. Me and about millions of other people want out PSPlus line up as per usual, it hasnt even been announced yet. Why is this taking so damn long? I understand you guys got a lot of **** to do, but when you promise PSPlus games at the beginning of the month on the first Tuesday and usually tell us what were getting days before. But this is just getting ridiuculous now. No one cares about PSNow, we want our free games for the month of March like we should be getting tomorrow.

  • I accidentally Purchased 3 months of PS Now, by that I mean I forgot to cancle the trial, and im glad I did. I have actually been using this a lot and my nephew loves going in and playing a lot of these games and he has had this. I can see how great this is for those that just came to the Playstation community I just wished we can more games or at least the ones that are already on Now to be part of the subscription. Thanks for the update. See you guys on twisted metal!

  • Netflix removes movies that it loses the license to but no one complains about that. You can’t expect Sony to keep a license for every streaming game.

  • PS Now should cost only $15/month (10$/month for PS+ subscribers) and feature all PS1, PS2, PS3, PSV and PS4 games that are currently in the PS Store.

  • If you guys added Skyrim to the PS Now you would get millions of subs instantly. Me and buddies have joking about that for a while now. I’ve been playing God of War Ascension and Dirt Showdown recently on there. Really interested in all the new games this month thanks again Sony! =D

  • Several sites have reported that a German PlayStation Site either accidentally leaked, or was hacked to reveal that the PS4 free games for March are Octodad, and Lego Marvel. I would keep your expectations very low at this point. The other rumor is Drive Club, but who knows.

  • Sorry, guys, PSNOW costs too much. You make it $100 a year or $8.99 a month or something, you’ll have people all over it. For now, ti’s just now worth it. For the $180 a year you charge now, I can go buy a PS3

  • Sony your customer service is horrible…..as for all the people whining about PS now don’t buy it we all paid a lot of money for next gen consoles so we would no longer have to play the old less visually stunning games if Sony aggravate you that much stop crying about it and don’t buy their products other then that they dont like or care about you its all about the bottom dollar they mess up keep you in the dark fix it apologize for keeping you in the dark say they won’t do it again then do it again and again…..thank you that is all

  • All this complaining about price is ridiculous. You’re all just cheapskates who want things given to you.

$15 per month for UNLIMITED streaming of most of the PS3 titles you would even want to play is a phenomenal deal. Period.

Someone who went from 360 to PS4 could get a 3 month sub for $45, and play through uncharted 1&2; the last of us, infamous 1 and 2, God of war collection. Ascension, bio shock infinite, and a ton more games. How the heck is that overpriced? You guys need to grow up.

For less than the cost of one retail new game, you can catch up on tons and tons of missed games. Thanks Sony.

  • This service will never work, the price point is too high. All it does is highlight to me that I can buy the games for second hand and sell them on for a marginal price drop. Meaning the total cost of ownership is far lower, why would anyone who still has a PS3 pay to rent a game, that they could buy outright and then sell to buy the next game outright and so on and so on.

This will drive up the second hand market more.

If Sony weren’t such a terrible company it wouldn’t be so much of an issue, but the fact they are so large and use their (to be honest) blind stupid fan base that will pay for everything just because it’s Sony sucks. They use customers as a cash cow and only care what you think at a new product launch, once the public has bought into the console, who gives a **** about customer service?

I don’t buy anything from the store as it’s cheaper to get it second hand, I mean you get charged more for digital?! WTF!

….now with that said were are the PSN+ games for March?

  • And you don’t need to keep yor subscription indefinitely. Get a 3 month sub, that’s plenty of time to play through the games you missed you want to catch up on, and cancel. It’s not hard.

Ps now isn’t designed for you to build up a collection. It’s designed to play games.

  • That is chump change, but I ain’t a chump willing to give my change for something that is overpriced! Where are the Plus games for this month at damn it?! Now has it’s perks but if some people feel it’s overpriced that’s their opinion and shouldn’t be made fun of for having one like the people who are for it. Thanks Sony for the games, but I don’t game that hard anymore to drop $15 a month on top of Plus and Live and ISP, etc, etc. Nice option though.

  • Even though I haven’t tried it yet I really like the idea of PlayStation Now. It’s a great way to try games before you buy or catch up on games you never would of thought of playing. I hope we wont have to wait much longer till we get the PS3 subscription service. Once the subscription service is available I’ll start putting in requests for the games that I’d like to see on PlayStation Now.

  • I wouldn’t be surprised if they turned the PS+ monthly games into free month rental off of PS Now for each of your platform.

  • Why are we being brick walled about the PS+ Update, when its something we paid for?

  • Aweseom!!!…. no.. Wait.. Don’t care… I bought a nunch of digital games….. and have to keep my ps3 and hope it doesnt break since my ps4 wont play it….. Not gonna pay for a subscription service and my ps plus account. Where are my free games for the month?

  • Mutsu_Enmei_Ryuu

Concerning the March PS+ Lineup, my guess is that there are some licensing issues. This is because NA and EU have the same lineup but different licenses, so unexpected things can happen. Something similar occurred last November (you can find PS+ November preview on blog), where nothing was announced until the actual store update (post was made on November 4th).

PS Now is an interesting product but there should be a more attractive price tag to it, or different subscription options. For those insulting people being cheap, I think it’s more of a price/value perspective and not everyone is satisfied with the current pricing models.

  • If Sony was smart, they’d give Plus members a couple of free weeks to try out the PS Now service, so users can see how good the quality of the streaming is, etc. That way, you’ve got more people getting a look at the thing and it can only lead to more subscribers (assuming the experience is a positive one).

  • You can get 7 days for free for PS Now.

  • Will the playstation now ever reflect purchases made from the store? I mean I think we can all agree that it’s pointless to “rent” a game that we’ve previously purchase. I mean if the answer is no, then I’ll be better off selling the ps4 and going back to the ps3

  • You know what is stupid? PS Now is or was meant to be coming to the UK and then Europe beginning of 2015 and yet we still haven’t had 1 piece of news for it. When is PS now coming to the UK? I would’ve even tried it on my US account but the servers are stateside so no point of trying and then what? Prices will probably be like 40 pounds for 3 months too SMH

  • What you fools still fail to realize is that PS Now is a RENTAL SERVICE. If you think it’s overpriced, why don’t you head to Blockbuster and see what it costs to rent 100 games for 3 months.
But no, you don’t really believe it’s overpriced; you’re just whiney brats who think Sony is supposed to give you everything for free while declaring bankruptcy.

  • PS Now will probably drop in price over time though if they don’t get enough subs to it.

  • i saw this picture first thing I thought was new / updated / complete unannounced remake of twisted metal… hyped myself up now hops are at an all time low

  • This needs to be a free service to PS Plus subscribers. 20 bucks a month is nuts especially given both the quality of the streaming and the catalog.

  • I have spent thousands of $$$ on psn why would I pay for a subscription?

  • @PanTheMan16 100 pathetic games.

  • @PanTheMan16 and almost all of them were given at some point in the IGC. Some people are such suckers for Sony they defend any terrible decision they make.

  • Would like to see Yakuza 4 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2

  • @Mutsu_Enmei_Ryuu,

You have the most well written and well thought out post on the blog I’ve read today. I had forgotten that November happened the same way. I’ll still sleep tonight, I’ll still watch the store update, no reason to rage over an announcement.

  • Twisted Metal and Alone in the dark should be a cool short rent for next weekend.

I need something to take my mind off of Final fantasy 14 not working.

  • I like how people feel the need to call people they know nothing about names. This service might be to expensive for some. We don’t know where they work or how much their bills are or how many kids they have. This should be the place for them to air their grievances. Please don’t rush to judge people.

  • y’all better not try to pull a fast one and say driver club is the PS4 game for march. Nobody wants that anymore. If its finally ready then there needs to be another game along with it.
