This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members with a variety of quality titles across PlayStation platforms entering the service.
On PlayStation 4 you’ll receive one of the coolest games from last year – the critically acclaimed strategy/action RPG Transistor. PS4 owners will also get Apotheon, an action platformer set in Greek mythology, the day it releases on PlayStation Store. PlayStation 3 owners can explore the ins and outs of Tokyo with Yakuza 4 or sneak about The City stealing what you can in Thief. PlayStation Vita owners can see how many generations of champions it takes to beat the quirky Rogue Legacy and jump around as a little boy with a big gun (not so much for shooting enemies as it is launching you around) in Kick & Fennick, which is also releasing day and date in PlayStation Plus.
All of these games will be free for Plus members starting February 3rd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below. When you watch, you may notice that the voice over has changed a bit, and my friend Ryan Clements is narrating instead of me. I just bought Yakuza 4 a couple days ago.
So, does only Vita get Rouge Legacy? Or all three systems?
Okay who is the idiot that picks the plus games? Why in the world did you make Their free for ps3 and NOT ps4? Really? Oh the stupidity. I hope you guys know the ONLY reason why people has your crappy subscription is because its required to play online MP on ps4. Hate to be a jerk but its the truth. Deleting this comment and banning me will only prove you guys can’t handle the truth. It would of been better if MP required PS+ on ps3 when it first launched otherwise I wouldn’t have this to say. Let’s not forget that ps4 is an online only game console if you digitally buy games you won’t be able to play them and that’s bogus. Pure rip off. That’sa scam if you ask me and i surely would sue Sony for this. But I wouldn’t because even the best consoles have flaws and that’s why I love PS4 :)

I’ve defended Sony with Ps Plus offerings on PS4 and Vita for a year now, but now I really do think it’s time for Sony to step up. There really is no excuse for not having early AAA titles like Killzone Shadow Fall or Knack show up on Plus. Same with Vita really. There’s no reason not to give people more of a taste of stuff like Assassin’s Creed Liberation, Tearaway, Killzone Mercenary, or other games.
PS Plus on PS3 did so well for so long, and really so did Vita. At this point it’s fair to start asking was that just because it was optional? Now that everyone is required to buy PS Plus for online play on PS4, they get a bunch of indies every month for free? PS3 continues to get good offerings which lends more credibility to that theory.

Seeing a lot of hate, but I am so excited to play Transistor and Rogue Legacy. I cannot count how many times I almost bought those games. I can see everyone saying “Where is Knack?” Honestly do we really want to play Knack?

too bad transistor for vita isn’t out yet, but here’s to hoping it will come soon. in the meantime, i’m sure rogue legacy will be my new vita time suck (after i finish grim fandango remastered of course)
Hey sony, this is just a comment or a suggestive comment from a hard-core gamer. But i think you guys should have 9 games in total for PS Plus (3 ps4, 3 ps3, 3 ps vita) and give the people who have a ps plus subscription 6 redemption tickets so we can choose what games we like best, or what games we prefer on a console, etc etc. :3 would be cool in my opinion.

as soon as i saw this post lead off with “This is a pretty awesome month for PlayStation Plus members”… i knew that meant crap for ps4 plus owners. we’ve been waiting for a true triple A title for over a year now in north america. thief and yakuza 4 on ps3 and two games for ps4 i’ve never heard of, regardless of their “STYLE”… i’m so sick of that word when used by sony employees to describe independent and less-than-worthy ps plus titles for someone like myself, who has had all he can take of independent games on my currrent-gen console that gets games that can also run on the vita. enough already. my subscription ends in march. that’ll be the end of it unless i see something different at the beginning of THAT month.
here’s the thing… if i was so into indie games, i’d be a pc gamer and would not own a ps4. i bought a ps4 to play on my large HDTV that sits smack dab in the middle of my living room with 7.1 surround sound. i want it to look and sound good. i don’t want it to look and play like super mario or a top-down, diagonal shooter from the beginning of the ps3 lifecycle… and sometimes even saying THAT is being generious. sony… why didn’t y’all just stick with the ps3 since apparently there aren’t enough ps4 plus owners to warrant giving us a good game? i can honestly say there’s not ONE free ps plus game for my ps4 that has kept my interest long enough to even say to someone, “wow… look at this! i got this free with my ps plus membership!” and it doesn’t look like it will ever happen. one more month for me, and then i’m out.

After a year of mediocre offerings, the last three months have been a blast.
For those who are complaining about indies, Transistor is better than most of AAA titles and it’s not a 2-3 hours long game. You will not be disappointed. Just remember how awful IGC was about 6-7 months ago.

Very dissapointing offer for the PS4. When are we going to start getting some actual games for it for free? Why can Thief not also be on the PS4? It’s not like anyone is still going to buy it…
Come on Sony, admit it. The only reason you aren’t putting out AAA games for the PS4 this month is because you don’t want to distract us from the release of The Order! People may not want to rush out and buy it if they are busily playing through Zillzone or Metal Gear Solid……

What a time to be a PS+ member. Although it’s a bummer that there is no PS4-version of Thief, I’m looking forward to play Rogue Legacy and Transistor. Also excited for Apotheon, never heard of the game before.
PS3 getting full game again? Really? PS4 users chopped liver? This to me is starting to regret the upgrade… Why not theif on ps4? Now I’m a bit irritated with Sony.
I transitioned to ps4 from Xbox 360 and so far am loving it. Salivating over bloodborn and the other exclusives out this year. I will say this though; psn (for ps4 anyway) is a steaming pile of horse-apples. Over a year in, and the amount of demos available can be counted on both hands, and the free games? Barring ‘first light’, they have been terrible. Saw ‘thief’ on the title screen and thought; “wow, they’ve finally got their s**t together…” And then realised it was ps3 only! Meanwhile, I’m left with one overhyped indie game, and another I’ve never heard of. Don’t regret my decision for one moment, butbut having experienced Xbox live, psn is dump for ps4 owners. Just saying

I have say I am very disappointed with offerings.
Gravity Rush, Muramasa and Sly Cooper 4 were the only thing worth it.

I was really hoping for something a bit better this month, but there’s always next time. I will probably play Apotheon, but I can see it leading to deletion after 5 minutes due to boredom/tedium just as every other side-scrolling platformer seems to effect me. Transistor doesn’t look impressive at all, and I sold my vita about 3 months ago because the games just aren’t there. Thief is just plain weird, I pre-ordered it for PS4 and was highly disappointed with it as well. I know you guys are trying to make a broad audience happy, but these indie games especially don’t do it for most of us. If the focus was even on less games for more quality, that would be awesome as well. I’m not hating at all, just time to state how I really feel.
This may be half ‘indie’ games as some people may say but it looks like a great lineup to me. A few of these games I was planning on buying so thank you for another great month. Been looking forward to trying Transistor & Rogue Legacy for some time now.
Dammit guys I already own Yakuza 4! I’ve owned it since last year! GIVE US YAKUZA 5, PERSONA 5, AND SUCH. Or at least don’t give us titles that are better than Sonic and we already shilled for.
For everyone demanding better PS4 Offerings, SONY is not the one you need to be yelling at… Its the publisher/studio … They have to be willing to put the game into PLUS before SONY can negotiate it for to be free for you….
So if you want better games (including AAA games) in the IGC, you are better off complaining on their forums and get in contact with them to let them know!
