Ironclad Tactics for PS4 Launches January 20th

Late last year we revealed that Ironclad Tactics would be coming to the PS4 in early 2015. Everything has gone according to plan, and Ironclad Tactics will be launching on PlayStation Store next Tuesday, January 20th! The game will be available for $14.99, and includes all of the available add-on campaigns as a free bonus. And, if you’re a PS Plus member like me, you’ll enjoy a 20% discount if you grab the game in the first week!

In case this is the first time you’re hearing about it, Ironclad Tactics is a fast-paced, card-based tactics game set in the American Civil War… with robots!

Although it’s reminiscent of the tactics games and collectible card games that we’re all familiar with, we’ve done a lot to make it fast-paced, streamlined, and completely free from the microtransactions that seem to plague digital card games lately. It’s also completely co-op enabled, allowing you to switch between playing solo or with a friend over the internet with ease.

We’re super excited to be bringing one of our best games to PS4, and hope you’re looking forward to it, too.

  • seems like a weird fit for sitting on the couch / playing on a tv. text so small…

  • I’ve been wanting to play another tactics game for a long while but my laptop is…crappy…so I’m totally excited for this. Will be purchasing next Tuesday!

  • Yay finally a card game on ps4. We need them badly! Will there be a demo? Not sure if this will be my flow or not. Regardless tho, thanks for bringing a card game to the ps4 and i hope more companies follow suit like you. Much appreciated, even if i end up not getting it.

  • Hey Zach,

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of my “Top 10” must buy games for 2015. Thank you for bringing it so soon.

I wanted to ask if you guys would consider on making “Dynamic Themes” and “Avatar Pictures” for the PS4. Your game would look cool displayed on everyone’s PS4.

    Rob aka Graf

P.S. Please forgive me if I have ask you guys before to bring “Dynamic Themes” and “Avatar Pictures” to the PS4. I’m just a little excited to play this.

  • When it comes to vita, you’ll have my money. Looks great!

  • Great to hear. this game looks like a lot of fun.

I’m just waiting for Apotheon announcement for release, the blog said it would be January, still no announcement. This one was late so there’s still hope for this month I guess.

  • I’ve been wanting more card based games. I’m not thrilled about the Civil War setting, but it’s a card game. Am happy about that.

  • @5 exactly. When it comes to the vita, then I’ll buy it. Can’t understand why it isn’t along its the ps4 version. Looks good.

  • I have this game on my android tablet for the cost of $0.

$15 seems steep, even with the add ons.

It’s a fun game for strategy/ccg people. Not sure about $15 fun, but fun nonetheless.

  • nah….

  • Looks great, will pick this up as soon as I get a PS4 or if it does come to vita.

  • I’m a fan of card games. Really hoping more come to PS3/4.
Will check this out after some reviews.

@1 I agree about the small text size. This seems to be a common oversight by devs (especially indie devs). They design everything while sitting inches from their computer monitor and don’t think about the differences when playing on a tv sitting further away on the sofa.

  • Port this to vita I want it.

  • Seems like an incredibly niche game. I have almost no interest in it. However I’m glad we are reaching a state where these niche titles make it too the consoles because I might be interested in the next one.

  • car games. ok

  • Finally, a card-based game coming to PS4. I’m picking this up day one.

  • i love action card games.

  • me too

  • This looks AWESOME! Insta-buy!

  • I’ve had this for a while on the PC and it’s a lot of fun. If I didn’t already have it, I’d be getting this as soon as it came out, especially with the extra campaigns already included. It’s pretty deep strategy with fun gameplay and a solid story.

  • This looks pretty good! Not sure if it’s my thing, but I hope it does really well.

  • Seems like a better fit for the Vita. I could remote play it, sure, but I think I’ll wait for a version that I can take on the go. Looks interesting though!

  • This looks awesome! =o Very original concept. You had me at Civil War with robots.

  • Please bring this game to the PS3 and/or the PS Vita. This looks like my kind of game, and I would get it on either of those systems, since those are what I have. :)

  • vita

  • No disc – no sale.

  • Needs an update, it’s very glitchy on co-op, and once you build your profile up, it won’t let you host co-op anymore. On the other hand it’s extremely fun and single player is flawless.
