  • please tell me there will be new sales today and these arent the only ones still sticking around…

  • Wow, a lot of people really want their $0.50 lol.

Just a question to those asking for compensation, I’m curious, what would you consider reasonable compensation for this? Extending peoples’ plus membership by a of couple days? I guess everyone would have to get equal amounts then, because some people were able to access PSN earlier than others. And what about non-Plus users? Again, I’m curious…

  • Lets extend this sale so we can make more money off our customers that we will not put back into better servers! While we are at it, lets totally ignore the over 3k comments and not compensate our PAYING customers at all.

Sony truly is “for the gamer”.

  • Sony could care less, i called in about a problem, was lied to, laughed at and hung up on. I called back and talked my way up to the manager of customer support . You could hear it in her voice she could care less how i had been treated by the guy that laughed at me and denied me his supervisor and hung up on me. Or about the supervisor that lied and said she was sending me a game free fom my problem. She even told me to stop buying PlayStation products if thats how i felt. Sony doesnt care about you as an individual custmer. They know that kids are gonna get their parents to buy them games, so who cares how i got treated. Well im going to alienware, i hope its a good console. I guess the thousands of dollars i spend every year is really a drop in the bucket for them, chump change. Thats was my PlayStation Experience, getting laughed at, lied to and made to feel like a fool. Put your lipstick on guys, youve been bent over and made to be sonys girlfriend.

  • I agree with those who ask for compensation. Extending this sale feels more like a chance to get our money than giving us back something for all these days we could not play.

  • I bought the Dragon Age Deluxe edition from the flash sale, I keep getting a error code of ce-34878-0. I have deleted the game 4 times and reinstalled. still have the same issue. this happens as soon as I start the game. I need help to fix this problem please, the phone lines are busy and no chat support. thanks PS4 btw. I have got no answers on this tried calling, support chat. and ask playstation on twitter. I don’t like paying $45 for something that doesn’t work or get any answers.

  • I’m sorry but calling this a sale and extending it is a joke! These prices are terrible and milking them out is a waste of a weekly sale.

  • I would like some compinsation for the down time I’ve been a subscriber since 2011. I don’t know why I’m posting on here they never respond. Sony treats us like mushrooms keeps us in the dark and feeds us bull**** !!!!!

  • It’s there any reason about why we are not getting the discount on GTA V for PS3 on Mexico? ;-;

  • I found out I couldn’t look at my trophy list when there was an outage making platinuming shadow of mordor incredibly hard. You guys need an off line option to just look at the bloody things for us single player people. Other then that I wasn’t effected terribly Netflix still worked and I don’t play online games so I was still killing orcs.

Ps where’s Drive Club for us plus users? Unless plus gets better I think I’m going to drop it when my account expires. I haven’t played anything off plus since October.

  • Where is the GTA + Shark Card on the site?

  • HA! You guys better add to that list for THIS weeks new sales.

  • In consideration for the PSN was down, we will throw you money even after, shame on you.

  • I think I was overcharged for my Dragon Age Inquisition deluxe edition (Ps3) purchase. I grabbed it during the flash sale on the weekend with some Xmas PSN card money, when I could get logged on. I paid $51 (and some change), but the sale states it is supposed to be $45.49.
Is this just me, or is it an error in the flash sale post? I grabbed it then thinking it was just a PSBlog post error, but I see in this post that the price was not corrected. leads me to think I was overcharged.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • It says that i can’t buy GTA 5 plz can someone tell me why…

  • Does this mean no store update today?

  • ariaandkia caught you in a lie. I once had my PS4 offline for 2 weeks straight and I was able to play my IGC games

  • Sigh, no destiny expansion pass…. when there its digital guardian and base game…. the logic behind this its to screw fans who bought the white “limited” edition bundle with destiny….

So disappointed with this kind of pricing

  • @116 unless they are doing new sales not likely. they even said in last weeks dtop that unless something changes there are no new games coming out this week

  • @87, my electric company always credits me when my power goes out. So does Comcast. Even though the credit comes down to literal pennies, the point consumers want to make is that we should never pay for days that a service that goes down, especially when there’s a subscription fee. I look at it like this: You buy a subscription to a magazine. Your magazine doesn’t arrive one month. Do you think that the publisher should send you another, or should you bite the bullet? Maybe it’s not the publisher’s fault. Someone could have stolen it.The operator/owner of a service is responsible for anything that happens to that service and is, by contract, obligated to provide you that service. This includes crediting you for those days the service wasn’t provided, no matter the reason. I don’t believe in freebies though. Sony could do that as a good will measure, not as an obligation.

  • Nice job of extending the sale, but honestly, that’s a no-brainer.

As a paying customer, all I really expected is reliable communication. I don’t and never blamed Sony for the outage, but they could’ve handled it better. LIVE customers were updated every 30 minutes and notified by text whenever features went back up. Also, LIVE was back up quicker.

But expecting a bunch of free games? That’s a bit much.

  • @Lestatdelioncort

Which is kind of my point.

Not everyone had access. Some people did, some people didn’t.

And I’ve explained before, possibly to you, that it isn’t about whether or not Microsoft got up first or Sony got up first. That is mostly a matter of who has more money invested in their servers. What matters is what Sony does after being attacked.

  • Sorry, but the sale does not make up for the disappointment over Christmas and why have I had no response about my sub accounts question to @askplaystation. Please try harder Sony.

  • Did the Grand Theft Auto V sale price not get an extension? This sucks. I got in late last night and put it off until this morning. Oh wells.

  • PSN plz do something about GTA 5 I can’t buy it plzz….

  • God I am sooooo Tired of these Sony *** kissers.

Even when they are obviously wrong, they still continue to spout lame excuses, and use words like entitled when any paying customer is, to what they paid for.

Glad the sales were extended, but, not as an excuse for not having any this week.

EU looks to have you seriously beat on sales for January and wish I could transfer my account, because of the censorship going on here on the US side.

  • @pnut027 The problem is lots of people did get online during the issues. So how does Sony make sure to only credit those who could not access at all.

  • @snarls200

PS4 or PS Vita? The two systems are different.

And maybe for the games you had they were still playable, but not for the games I have. Maybe I am wrong and it only validates every few days for some games. Maybe I am wrong and it validates every day for those games.

I am simply repeating the explanation I was given for why my games weren’t working last time Sony’s network had an extended downtime.

  • Here is what I want from Sony for Christmas……….An entire NEW PSN STAFF.

  • @114

the reason it is 51 and not 45 is that they don’t differentiate the Canadian to American prices. Often many of the second rate items are the American price even in Canada. In the case of premium items from big publishers they are often inflated to a higher price to reflect the currency exchange, or in some cases even greedier.

The problem is sony blog has no Canada version, and they frankly seem to care less to let you know what the pricing is supposed to be, there is no easy way to keep them honest on what they advertise and what ends up showing in our storefront online.

On some occasions they do bother to say the price difference for new releases but that seems to be the only time.

Unprofessional to serve a market of over 30 million people and not even advertise properly.

  • Hours after I just bought CoD AW thinking it was ending today. Sigh
Wish i had more money to get something else that was cheaper. :(

  • Hey where’s Grand Theft Auto V + Great White Shark Card on sale? I just got back with psn cards to buy it and it’s not there. I thought the sale was being extended, so what happened?

  • @130
Maybe the sales expired and they have to do an update to extend the dates.

That is just my guess though.

  • besides you could have bought that in physical format at almost any Canadian retailer for around $50 dollars physical. While it is the deluxe cosmetic horse armor edition, you have to realize getting the physical disc and waiting for the dlc stuff to eventually be discounted might be the better way to go.

I considered it but it’s a huge digital download you are stuck with, and I doubt I would ever touch it again once Witcher 3 ships. Next year will be the inevitable game of the year edition of inquisition for $70 with all the planned dlc included. Whereas I will just get Witcher 3 for 49.99 from amazon e3 preorder with all dlc included from day one.

I hate EA, despite being a Fifa player, their practices are predatory.

Even when they are being nice, it is just a ruse to trick you to spend more money. ie. free plants / zombies garden warfare and fifa ut gifts.

  • And I also bet Lizard Squad is a Sony or Sony affiliate funded project.

Why would upsetting the gamer community be anything worth mentioning.

You kept some mid life and teenage boys offline a few days during the holidays. Big Deal.

Lame considering what real accomplishments you could have made, or is that it ?

  • ariaandkia i have all 3 systems and i can play my vita games when not at home. it was my ps4 that wasn’t connected. more likely like a lot of people who had issues with digital games these last few days your PS4 was not activated as primary console.

  • All of you here have complied with the user agreement which states Sony doesn’t owe you anything in the case of an outage and that services may change at any time. All of you whining have obviously never read the user agreement. Yeah, it’s that huge block of text they first make you read when you make an account and periodically update and have you read and agree to when it changes. You have forfeited your terms of compensation for the what, forty cents you lost, so stop whining about it. They’re not going to give you fifty dollar voucher, they’re not going to credit you your favorite JRPG in compensation, welcome to the real world where bad things happen and you have to deal with it. It’s not that hard or that damaging.

  • nosadstar depends on of that is legally enforcable. just because it says that does not mean that a court will accept it. some places don’t allow people to give up their right to sue when signing up for a service

  • Legal contracts are binding. When you agree to a user terms of service it is binding. This blog is for the US portion of PSplus and I assume is made up of US players, in which case the user agreement is a legally binding contract.

  • @skeetlejuice (128,132)
thanks for the reply. I had just not experienced the increased Canadian price in the Canadian PSN storefront yet. Thanks for pointing that out. I honestly thought it was a glitch with all the outages that were happening, as I had alot of issues actually purchasing the thing. I still bought it to make sure I got the sale price.
I knew I was paying for a few cosmetic upgrades, but didn’t mind as a huge chunk of my purchase was from psn cards from X-mas. Otherwise I would have waited longer and picked up a retail version with some trades. The price was good enough for me.
I’m always reticent to post on here about issues, in case someone is a jerk and just blasts me over a dumb question. Thanks for being genuinely helpful.

  • NoSadStar then how did sony get sued after the 2011 hack. there was stuff about that in TOS if i am not mistaken

  • @snarls200

I’m sure you go online with your vita at least once in a while.

And who knows. I wasn’t talking about my ps4. I don’t bring my ps4 with me everywhere. PS3, PSP, PS Vita on the other hand do come with me, but I don’t really go online with my PS3 or PSP. All the PS3 games I like are stuff you really don’t see on the PS+ list. My PSP pretty much never goes online (at least not for PSN) anymore.

My PS4… aside from PS+ games, most of which I don’t like, all my enjoyable games require online AND PSN. Not going to mention PS+ since it is mandatory for the PS4. Hence why I didn’t bother bringing my PS4.

My PS Vita, I have mostly PS+ games, though most PS+ games don’t interest me. Terraria and Rainbow Moon are pretty much most of what I normally play.

I probably should’ve been a bit more clear before, but comment length limit means having to cut off details. And if that doesn’t work, cutting the comment into multiple comments.

  • Hmmm….so seems the EU gets ignored again. Thanks Sony ;)

  • Not to mention*

  • ariaandkia so you really only play MMO’s then?

  • Oh, the great 2011 lawsuit that was dismissed by a judge and nothing came from it? That lawsuit? If so, great example, because again the user agreement protects them like a shield from basically any damages a user could lump on them. It’s the same concept as a medical agreement. When a surgeon works on you, they’ll have you sign a waiver so you can’t sue them for medical malpractice or neglect. They can cut you open, leave a surgical instrument in you, and have you die and your family can’t do jack because YOU agreed to it. This is the real world. Contracts are basically the Word of God in a court of law.

  • just saying ps plus is like 33 cents a day really loseing so much money, and sony able to take the network down for 3 months straight and doesnt have to pay a penny ins in the TOS we all sign to get into psn

  • So have we gotten any answer as to whether we still get an update today with new sales, or if they’re just copping out and leaving us with the same junk for another week?

I get we had downtime, but it’s been fixed. If there are purchases people want to make, they would have made them. There’s no need to leave them up for another 7 days instead of posting new sales.

  • Please sony, refresh the flash sale

  • @145 last week was the final week of the holiday Sale im pretty sure its gonna be the same stuff.
