UPDATE: PlayStation Network is back online. As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Rebooted , safe mode, changed wifi mtu STILL NO PSN. I couldn’t access my XMas playlist via Music Unlimited on Christmas and now I’m just noticing I can’t even access YouTube w/out being logged in . It’s bad enough my digital games didn’t carry over to my ps4 but now with this outage ny ps4 is pretty much a glorified roku box #PLEASE #FIXTHIS
I have recently bought a PS4 and most of my friends have their PSN back on but mine isnt just wondering when it will be?

the status: lie. The network is still offline as it was all the time since the hack, I think no1 can connect to store. I tried everything and I still cant connect to ps store. Sad

One other thing to add, you say that the network is back up and running so does that mean you have stopped ‘fixing it’ and that the thousands of people who still can’t connect will either have to wait until you get hacked again and hope their ps4 fixes when you ‘fix’ the network again or never get access to the network? This is unacceptable, paying for a network that has gone down almost a week now

A few days, i have had no psn access since christmas, going on 4 days and counting up here in scotland. This is beyond a few technical problems, dont u think. :(
I changed my MTU to 1475, and it seemed to work better them 1473, but the important thing was to turn the PS4 off, then turn it back on, then sign into PSN

Come on playstation get your **** together! You have a loyal fan base an for this crap to happen? I could understand when online gaming was free but now that some users with the ps4 have to pay to play online for a service we couldn’t even use especially on Christmas. You guys better offer something to your customers like how you did when you guys got hacked for a month an not a ****** game from a list of bootlegged games.

Preposterous that you can even mark the PSN as online when so many are still having issue. Despicable that you are not communicating ( just like in 2011). Foolish that you believe this will not hinder your console ( that has been selling so well) in the future. The MTU setting of 1473 WILL get you online and playing again. I have done it for the past 2 days. But, why should we have to change anything? Surely, if I can play for six hours last night with that setting…..then things could have been restored on your end by now. Obviously if thousands are online and playing right now, the network is not crippled. Sadly, a player’s tip got me back online rather than the customer service department that seems to ignore everyone or throw out cookie cutter responses. I thought Sony made the “grown-ups” console…..so why hide under the bed like a little kid? Guys , if you tried the other day and it didn’t work….try again. Go to custom setting on network set up…. leave everything the way it is other than MTU setting. Change MTU to 1473. You will be able to sign in and play.
It’s 29 December and I still can’t play any PS4 games.
Destiny and Warframe just hang at the loading screen while they try connecting to the servers.

Firstly i ring help line Sunday to be told phone line closed till Monday after 10:30 so just to make sure ring again Monday before 10:30 same message so wait 5 seconds after 10:30 i ring and now the phone line is dead no working at all

Is the psn still not working Sony announced the network is up and running LIES i can log on my computer and my friends are online but countless others and i can’t, with absolutely no assistance from Sony Playstation whatsoever.
I have been with Playstation for 15 years now, ever since i could afford to buy one and i have never felt so let down by a company that i have shown so much support and loyalty for.

Most ridiculous customer services I’ve ever come across can’t get in touch with anyone tried all available online information and tips non of which work. For such an established company you have one of the worst services ive ever come across would be good to know when your customer services are going to work and actually help with the issues.

Hi I was just wondering when my psn will be working again as this is starting to seem like a joke it has been off for the last 3/4 days.
SONY, this is not the first case when you are attacked by hackers, it is necessary to strengthen your defense against hacking hackers !

It is dec 29 i still can get online
1) go into settings,
2) go into network,
3) go into view connection status and note down your IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and Primary DNS numbers,
4) go back and go into Set up Internet Connection,
5) choose between wi-fi or lan cable,
6) choose custom for internet connection,
7) choose your network,
8) choose manual and then add your values for all the things listed in point 2)
9) press next
10) MTU settings- choose manual
11) Change MTU setting from 1500 to 1475
12) Proxy Server should be set to Do Not Use
13) Turn PS4 off, then turn back on
Now try logging into PSN

My PS3 has been working all weekend, and PS4 has been working since Sunday Afternoon. Didn’t even have to change any settings on PS3
Finally got to log in but now won’t let me play
This is rediculous, now 4 days not able to play online. Shame on you Sony!!

I should hope that now my PSN has been unavailable for a good few days now, you plan on reimbursing us on some of the money we have clearly wasted to get this absurd and ridiculous connection. Still can’t get on… Says “the connection to the server has been terminated (NW-31194-8).” You have to understand that I have tyres being waiting and everyone elks I know can get on but me… Do we even get compensated? Still cant get online. What i CAN do is exchange my ps4 in the store for an xbox because they already fixed it and it seems like they dont get attacked by hackers as frequently.
All i can say is that im really disappointed and my son was looking forward to this since last christmas when you guys where sold out of consoles and now this happens.
