I’ll echo what others have said: There’s absolutely no way I’d spend more for a digital copy than a physical copy. This sale is embarrassing.
Well, I have to say that while there are some good games, I was expecting better prices and more titles, and of course, it’s very sad that there are not vita games on the list, come on guys, Cyber monday Vita sale.

So glad that I went to Target and picked up The Evil Within and Shadows of Mordor for $25 a piece. That being said I still love my Vita, I’m on it now as a matter of fact, lol. If you have a PS4 its like its little brother, the remote play is an absolutely awesome function that I use daily. Thank you Sony and happy holidays everyone.

Haven’t stopped by to leave a post here for awhile, but I really feel like I need to say something. I agree completely with everyone here, this “sale” is embarrassing. Also, why is there any sales for movies and tv shows? Does anyone actually buy those on our “gaming network”. I wanna call it a “Sony: buy our shi- I mean, products sale.” What it should have been was a “Playstation: gaming sale”

Great pricing on Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition and Shadow of Mordor. Saved at least $15 off retail Black Friday prices on each game. Going to be playing these games a lot! Bought some other games to earn the $15 PSN credit too – love it!
Sony was really angry the FTC ruling so they are taking it out on the people they lied too in the first place real classy.
I am so disappointed. Playstation KNOWS that last years Black Friday was when everyone bought PS+ for $25. And now that the yearly membership is ending for all these people… The sale is no longer here this year.?! I’m waiting.. I’m 15 I don’t have a job do you expect me to **** $50. lol if I have to wait until Christmas deals I will, not paying more than $25 to play the games I already paid $250 for (that’s only 4 games) follow on IG or add on Playstation: Kissthesheep
Yeah, the Xbox Live Black Friday deals are much better. Several of them are on par with some of the BEST sales I’ve seen on the PS Store (GTA:SA, Mirror’s Edge, RE4, P4A, etc…).
If you really want a wake-up call, check out Steam. Every Half-Life game ever made (aside from Decay) plus the Multiplayers (CS, TF, Ricochet), Portals, and Left for Deads (?): $25, Total War Bundle (every Total War game): $30, Dark Souls: $5, and more to come. There’s also a general sale in effect until 2 Dec which has a lot of games simply scraight up discounted.

On PC, there is competition that drives all game distributing services (Steam, Origin, Green Man Gaming, GOG, Humble Store, etc…) to offer the best prices and deals on that single platform.
If I can’t find the game I want for the price I want on PC, I can just choose another store. And all these stores know that.
On PS4, PS3 or Vita (let’s leave retail out for now), if you want a game, there’s only ONE store. There’s NO competition. It’s not like you could buy digital versions of PS4 games on another online storefront. All digital content MUST go through PSN. And Sony knows this. What’s the alternative to the consumer (in the online space)? There’s no alternative for digital content. There’s PSN, and that’s it. You’re not happy? Well, go buy another console then.
That’s why we don’t really see great sales from SCEA. That’s also why the EA subscription service isn’t on PSN too. Sony doesn’t want competition on its own platform. Because competition would force them to lower their prices and do better sales.
But that still make them look bad anyway.
Steam, GMG and Humble Bundle are awesome on PC.
Here I was saving up for Vita deals… go figure. Not enough love for the Vita from Sony or big Devs. I bought the Vita to have a dedicated handheld, not to have a gimmicky PS4 peripheral. Ah well, back to Freedom Wars.
@406 people are complaining because physical retailers are offering better prices and everyone knows physical games have more value. Plus people have every right to complain why don’t YOU be quiet then.

RE4, it’s not that I’m “not happy.” In no way do I feel a sense of entitlement or that I’m “owed” anything. I’m simply an informed consumer. I checked out these “deals” and didn’t see anything of value to me. Furthermore, I observed competing offers at or below the “discounted” offers here. I’m simply stating a subjective interpretation of objective fact.
On the note about Steam however, it’s not driven solely by competition. In fact, much of it is quite to opposite. Steam regularly offers sales well below MSRP with the knowledge that a low market price will result in a high volume of sales and thus more profit. They recognize that digital items do not retain value in the same way as physical ones, and often adjust their pricing to reflect this. In fact, Steam may be taking some sales too far and potentially compromising the industry in the long-term (while benefiting consumers in the short-term), but that is another discussion entirely.
I think there’s an error in the Amazing Spiderman 2 movie listing.
It went up from $7.99 to $9.99 in the sale.
I logged on last night at midnight to see if the PS Store would have sales and I saw this and outside of Evil within these are terrible. Many retailers are selling hard physical copies of the SAME games for $5-15 cheaper example Amazon and Walmart.
Also the flash sale on the games are terrible. Plus two of the games are free in 1-2 months as well. This is pathetic I mean as a PS Plus customer I been disappointed with the lineup for the last 5 months. A good flash sale would be one your own PS Plus Service considering your biggest console only game was a COMPLETE FLOP. Driveclub got so heavily marketed and it turned out it’s broken and halfway done. People brought the PS Plus just for this game and if they only brought it for 3 months they are out that game. Sony I am highly disappointed in you I was more than happy to invest in digital products but there is nothing here even worth 80% of your customers times. Look at all the negative comments you have been getting on EVERY SINGLE BLOG over the last month. It’s too the point where it looks like you really don’t even care.
Digital sales need to be cheaper than physical copy games. Digital games should be at least $10 cheaper than the physical copies being sold on Amazon and at Walmart.
How about doing your research and surveys to find out what your customers want for the holidays. Retails put out their sales 1-2 weeks ago. You should have matched them if not BEAT THEM to maximize your profit. How is it digital products of yours cost more than physical products at retailers. From your lackluster PS Plus titles on PS4 which have been crappy indies for 5 months, to still no driveclub with the crew coming out in Dec, to this it shows you don’t do research nor care about us as customers. Why do you do bigger sales on movies than games? No Vita games? I don’t even own a vita but that is robbery. How about a flash sale on something that would benefit you tremendously. A Flash Sale on your PS Plus membership.
I bought MLB the show 14, transformers rise of the dark spark, tomb raider definitive edition, kill zone shadow fall all for 10 bucks each NEW at a local store (not a chain store)
When I visited Sony’s NY store I was shocked to find out that they had no Vita games at all, but to not even feature in the digital sale is just shameful. Very poor show, the Vita deserves better than this.
Am i crazy or did they at one point sat they were going to stop production on the vita?

See that’s embarassing for Sony. I mean and Sony wonders why they loss millions each quarter. I mean who does the marketing and research. People not going to buy Sony simply because of the name. People are smarter consumers and will get the most for their money. In this economy people spend for value not for names or quantity.
What is even more embarassing is at the top of each blog almost is Driveclub. The game that for paid users it’s only 70% available and running and for us PS Plus users we are still awaiting our dubbed down copy 2 months later. Why would you continue to promote a game that doesn’t even work as the selling point for your system. The only thing Sony should promote is GTA5 for PS4

I’m a cancer patient (pilocytic astrocystoma inside my brain stem with no available treatment except palliative care) living on very limited funds from the government disability checks. I don’t want anything for myself. My sole caretaker and dear friend just got laid off from her nursing job due to downsizing and it looks to be a sad Christmas here. All I want is to put a huge surprised smile on her face and be able to give her a PS4 and a Batman game to use it. She loves Batman and has wanted a PS4 forever. She’s always owned every Playstation edition until now.
Is there any way Sony Playstation can help us? It would make an unforgettable Christmas.

Im going to have to agree with the majority of people on this blog. This sale is lackluster its not even funny. I can understand that they still need to make a profit, but you need to think like a customers when it comes to sale especially for black friday. If you arent going to put on a sale like all the other places whats the point in us getting a game digitally i might add, when i can get it far much cheaper elsewhere?
Not only that but as a Vita owner this kinda just proves you guys couldnt care less about the system. Not even ONE game on the Vita is put on sale? thats really sad, and then you guys wonder why the system isnt doing as well as you guys hope it would. it blows my mind how companies like this actually run when they pull stuff like this. But i guess we cant do anything about it!

Lately EU psn know how to put sales, while US psn doesn’t. And US$ is strong lately. Some of the games got much cheaper there.

This is simply terrible.
Ignoring the fact that many of these games are still cheaper in store, the massive difference between EU and US sales is astounding. And makes this ‘flash sale’ look very poor.
Not only did EU get more games on PS3 & PS4, they also got a great selection of Vita games.
I see one game on this sale that interests me, but it is cheaper in store.
The EU sale had games on every system I would have gladly bought as the prices were very fair. I’m not sure why this has happened, and while licensing agreements might be part of the problem, the sheer size and breadth of the EU sale makes it look like they worked really hard, and the people who handle the US sales simply don’t care anymore. Regardless of the actual truth.
Hopefully this was just a case of bad luck in getting things set up for the sale, and the next sale will be as awesome as most of the previous sales have been.
Its time to get Shadow of Mordor :)
