With the portability benefits of PS Vita and its dual analog control system, you can now transfer your existing Minecraft PS3 Edition save to and from the PS Vita Edition, and continue to build, explore, and conquer anytime, anywhere. When you’re done, simply transfer your save to the PS4 Edition for the ultimate Minecraft experience!
For those that already own PS3 Edition and have been eagerly waiting for the PS Vita Edition cross-buy, or are looking to join the Minecraft family for the first time, here’s how it works:
About to purchase PS Vita Edition (PS Store) from 10/14
On your PS3 or PS Vita, purchase Minecraft PS Vita Edition for $19.99. Once you have made the purchase, you’ll be able to download the PS3 Edition for free and upgrade to PS4 Edition for $4.99.
About to purchase PS Vita Edition (Retail) from 11/11
On your PS3 or PS Vita, enter the pack-in voucher code through PS Store and you’ll be able to download the PS Vita and PS3 Editions digitally, and upgrade to the PS4 Edition for $4.99.
Existing PS3 Edition Owners (Disc or Digital)
On your PS3 or PS Vita, simply log into PlayStation Store and find Minecraft PS Vita Edition and you’ll be able to download it for free.
Existing PS4 Edition Owners (Disc or Digital)

omg, so many in here complaining on why they have purchase the game again even though they bought the ps4 version, or if they can transfer save from ps4 save to vita etc etc, even though mojang (at that time) released a full faq about buying the ps4/ps vita versions months ago

I don’t see what the huge deal is, it has always been said that the PS3 version is the one with crossbuy because they are the same version. So you bought the PS4 version already just go buy the PS3 version for $5 then you can play it on the Vita on the 11th. $5 to play on the go is a good deal, sure it would have been great if it was crossbuy with PS4 but it’s not so stop whining that you are so screwed over and have to pay $40 because you don’t.

I can play with remote play on PS4 and PS Vita for FREE right now. So why would I want to buy Minecraft for $19.99 more? If they had stated this when the PS4 version came out it would be less of a problem. Please bring Cross-Buy to PS4. I have been a huge supporter of Playstation, but I will not pay twice for a single game.
Can Minecraft be on sale on Tuesday? So the Vita version can be bought more more on that day.

Why can’t I buy the vita version for 499 if I have the ps4 version? I’m not paying you full price when I could if just fired up the ps3 spent the 20 got the vita version free and bought the ps4 version for 499. Total 25. Instead you expect me to pay 20 for each? Sony your killing me. I won’t pay that
Though it may not have the best draw distance or the largest world, in many ways I consider Minecraft Vita to be THE definitive edition, because it is the perfect balance of capability and portability. Looking forward to having my world with me wherever my Vita goes :-)
About time, right when the PS TV is released. I’ve been using my Vita less ever since Super Smash Bros. for 3DS came out. Now I have a reason to use my Vita even more.
It’s only greed if you bought the PS3 disc version and have to buy the Vita version full price again (Which is not the case). I got the digital PS3 version free for having the disc, so that means I will get the Vita version free as well. Smart business decision.

@thundercat17 No use trying to reason with them. It’s known from the start that the cross-buy offer is only for the PS3 and PS Vita Edition. It’s their own fault that they didn’t listen, so they have to live with the consequences.
Unfortunately I’ll be too busy with The Evil Within that day to give Minecraft much attention. It’s always nice getting a free game though. Lol.

Alright Ladies and Gents, before you PS4 owners start to light your torches for your hate mob I thought I’d give you a tip.
If you only own the PS4 version but don’t own the PS3 version and want the vita digitally for less than 20 here is what you do.
Goto the PSN store and buy the PS3 version for 5 washingtons. I too owned only the PS4 version. But it appears you can downgrade to the ps3 version for 5 dollars which translates to a cross-buy for vita. Don’t freak out in thinking you have to pay 40 dollars for vita and ps4.
I have a feeling that some people that have terraria will switch over to minecraft :P
Sony you need to fix this mess! Social media should blast you for making it costly penalty to have bought PS4 MineCraft. What a joke PS4’s have become for all of us that bought one when the debate raged 12 months ago! Sony you suck at thinking out good business practices. FIX IT!

getting the ps4 version and then only paying $5 to have it on the ps3 and vita is awesome. 3 game for the price of 25$ is great and way better treatment than any other console. thanks sony for being great.
I love it when people blame Sony for this decision, when in reality it is all in the hands of the PUBLISHER. They decide pricing, cross-buy, etc. Oh, and if you had read the blog post regarding the PS3 release of Minecraft, all the pricing information was there (PS3 / VITA versions were cross buy, PS4 version $5 upgrade from there). Wasn’t rocket science, blame yourself for lack of comprehension skills.
