A while ago, me and a friend were discussing how Sony could possibly be making money giving away so many games free with Plus. With the amount of quality sales happening as of late, I now have my answer. *sigh* Shut up and take my money Sony. All of it! With prices like these, I might as well pick up these games now.
Not a fan of the free game this week, but the Pax sale is outstanding! Finally going to try out Journey, at this price, I can’t resist. That’s what’s great about plus. Expecting everything in the instant game collection or discounts to line up with your tastes and expectations is folly. But there is more than enough value here for everbody to find something they will really enjoy. Feedback is great, but please, with the whining. Give it a rest. On another note, Tokyo Jungle is bar none one of the most bonkers insane games I have ever played. Recommended.

One question regarding purchasing PS+ content. I’m am very eager to get my hands on the upcoming new PSN app this holiday. I’m excited to be able to purchase content from mobile devices. Any news about this swing your way Morgan that you are allowed to share? Thanks!

I can’t wait for a functional dedicated Playstation app for Android and IOS. It will be nice to not have to navigate a web site on my phone to buy stuff. One would think we would have one by now….
This week was a flop for me first the new plus game weren’t we given the ps3 version of the exact same game in either June or July. That’s something you guys have to avoid in fact PlayStation plus eu mentioned in a comment to a reader the actively avoid just that
Second almost every game on sale has literally been on sale before or out right given to long time plus suscribers don’t get me wrong the prices are amazing but nothing is new except for 2 games Spelunky and Penny Arcade

Great… more VITA and indies sales. How about showing the PS3 some love? you know, your main pillar of gaming?
At least your competitor is giving two retail games for free every month. With PS+, i have to pray that VITA games don’t completely eclipse any good PS3 deals, you know, like these past several weeks!!
Some people sure are selfish and self-entitled. Not everyone has both a PS3 and a Vita, and not all of us have had PSN+ since day one. For some of us, these previously free games and new to us and will be enjoying them for the first time.
As for the EU US differences, some consistency would indeed be nice but I just don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes to properly take a stance on it.
How long will the PAX Sale be up for? I’m hoping to pick up Tokyo Jungle in a few days.

I have subscription for both services and by far I love PS+ way more. Sure you get free games for Xbox now but are they that great…? I haven’t touched any of the titles they gave to me for free so far… Over the years I have subs to Xbox, not once have I seen any great discounts for new releases or indies like PS+. While I’m at it, PS+ also give you offers for PS3, Vita and PS4.

Thanks for all the sales the past few weeks Morgan they’ve been marvelous and I hope you continue the trend and make a TGS sale when that comes around. Anyway, I’d like to make a suggestion for the PS3 IGC. This suggestion likely won’t happen since it’s not on the store, but either way I’d like to suggest Killzone 3 (the full game, not just the multiplayer portion) since Killzone: Shadow Fall is coming to us in just a few short months. Anyway, keep up the great sales!
Discounts on LIVE are quite good. Today Skyrim is $20. and the Konami sale is still ongoing.
The Free games have a long way to go to reach PS+ status, you are definitely right about that. But hey, it’s 2 per month, and they just started. They also don’t give the same old sales again for a portable system a month later.
If NA PS+ was at the level of EU PS+, It wouldn’t even be a close. But instead, we as always get the short end of the stick.
Another terrible week. We get a game that was free on PS3 not too long ago.
Not really into the PAX games sale. I already have Journey. The Vita game is the same as last month’s PS3 one so I’m not into that again. It took me way to long with that tic tac toe game.
So, I hope we do get ACIII for PS3 next month like Europe is getting. Actually all of Europe’s line up for next month looks awesome! I’m all ready for ACIII, got the game guide early July for $4.99! Just opened it a few days ago. Very heavy.
I cant believe that people are whining about the EU PSN+ subscription being ‘better’ than ours.
Ok, the Instant Game Collection aspect could (and should) be improved.
Have you noticed though, the *amazing* deep/frequent discounts we get all the time?
Do EU PSN+ subscribers get these ? No. So please, show some respect to the work Morgan and his team are doing for us. I’d rather have these discounts, since if/when I unsubscribe the games are *mine to keep forever*, which is not the case with the IGC games whether you have a EU or US subscription.

A few suggestions
1. Can you hint what games coming next month before the monday report?
2. Can we get classic ps1 back again (and maybe ps2 games too)?
3. Who do “you” contact about what games are free (publisher or developer)?
You know, I initially bought Plus for the IGC, but those sales man……Plus prices are so good during most sales I can’t say no. Will I ever beat retro/grade or Tokyo Jungle? Probably not, but at that price I want to support Sony CE. On the fence about Draw Slasher, though. I want the promised awesome console experience in my hands(think LBP, Soul Sacrifice, and Ragnarok f’n Odyssey), not games that could run on an Android phone or tablet. I worry that buying games like that sends the wrong message to Sony execs. I know I’m just one guy, but still.
As far as the whiners, step back and look at the IGC as a whole. Not every week or month will be perfect, but by the time the year’s out, you’ll have gotten your money’s worth. If not, then cancel. It’s worse with the 360. Seriously, their response to the overwhelming positive attitude towards Plus was to try and copy it by giving away launch and near-launch titles. It’s laughable, and this is coming from someone with both consoles.

Amazing! Thanks guys! To think it was less than a month ago when I felt I had hardly anything to play on my Vita. Now I’ve got this huge backlog of amazing games to play thanks to back-to-back-to-back ps vita game sales. Limbo, Dragon Book Fantasy I, and Retro City Rampage for me this week. I’m tempted to pull the trigger on Spelunky too. Wait and see. Glad I picked up that 32gb memory card. Gonna need it.
I have a doubt (a very stupid one):
I don’t know much about the Cross-Buy. If buy Limbo or Retro City Rampage on Vita, do I get the PS3 version?
Or this only works the oppsite way? Buy the PS3 version and gets the Vita free.
I agree, I am jealous of EU sales and free games, I was really hoping to get my hands on Resistance: Burning Skies. And I do hope someday that PS2 Classics will be playable on Vita, I don’t know why this isn’t the case yet

Is there any chance we’ll see any type of discount/deal on PS+ memberships in the next couple of months similar to the one being offered currently to EU PS+ subscribers? I’ve got nothing but good things to say about PS+ and have every intention of renewing my sub but I honestly don’t want to get burned by doing so a week or two early and missing out on a great deal.
Same old sale that seems to come out every month that is full of indie games or vita games. Mix up the sale more instead of always having the same titles every sale.

I know you’ve already said the EU Gamescom deals (AC3 and 3 months free) are EU exclusives, but are you guys considering something for this market as well along those lines?
I couldn’t care less about AC3, but my PS+ subscription expires next month and I was thinking about holding on until we get confirmation on that. It’ll suck for me to renew my membership just a week or a month before a “sign-up for a year, get 3 extra moths for free” kind of deal gets announced. I rather wait than renew it right away, Lord knows I got a bunch of games I bought on sale waiting, that i won’t miss not being able to access my IGC backlog for a while
I’ve been wanting to play Limbo for so long, I just didn’t get it cause I knew it would be on sale sometime. Definitely picking that up, I might as well pick up Journey at that price. I loved playing the demos for both.
Machinarium is an awesome game, I just recently beat it myself and enjoyed every minute, Tokyo Jungle is extremely fun as well, I need to get back into playing that again.

@124 vini_thekid: Not a stupid doubt at all. I had the same one until I bought guacamelee last week. I bought it for vita, and it automatically gave me the ps3 version. So cross buy does work both ways. Cheers!
@124 The Cross Buy bundles include BOTH the PS3 and the Vita version unless it’s stated otherwise.
I forgot to mention, Retro City Rampage is a killer title, so many parodies to see and find in it, it was hilarious.
Great sale! I’m grabbing Tokyo Jungle, Journey, Dyad, and possibly Retro/Grade. All four for around $14! Not to mention getting Machinarium for my Vita. I’m so pumped for the ridiculous amount of Vita games that have been announced over the past week. I have a huge backlog of Vita games that looks like it’s only going to get longer. And my god, the Killzone Mercenary beta has completely changed my mind about whether or not I was going to be picking it up. I can’t believe how good that multiplayer is!

The one time I got past that, I got kicked before the match even started. Everyone keeps raving about how good killzone: mercenary multiplayer is, and I really want to get in on the action, but haven’t been able to. Any problems for you at all?
I finally figured it out. We’ve gotten it all wrong.
IGC actually stands for ‘Indie Garbage Can’. It’s the place where all the crap games that no one even wants on Android go to die.
Why does Europe get games that are SOOOOOOO much better than the US IGC? Fewer subscribers? Better licensing relationships? Whatever the EU region did to convince you that they do NOT want indie garbage anymore, just pretend that we in the United States said the same exact thing, and respond accordingly.
If I had purchased either a PS3 or a PS Vita, right this instant, today, there is nothing in the IGC that would make me feel as though “This is a service I CANNOT do without, and I MUST have a subscription”.
August has been an utter joke for PS+. My expectations really couldn’t go much lower at this point.
Hey Morgan! Veteran Playstation owner and Plus member. Had a HUGE favor/suggestion maybe you can throw out there for the next discounted or IGC game. I noticed the UK got Okami HD for a discounted price but we didn’t get anything for it yet. I would LOVE to buy this classic. I’ve played it on PS2 awhile ago but the controls didn’t feel as good as say move does. Also its not available in stores to buy so its a great advantage for you guys! THANKS!
Journey and Skullgirls for $3.75? Looks like I’ll be buying those tomorrow. I missed out on that bundle along with The Unfinished Swan, so here’s my second chance to get Journey.
