HEY, SONY! You folks should coordinate for a month of PS3 Full Game releases of earlier titles, each retrofitted with trophy support. Call it a “Back to the Beginning Sale”, in celebration of the PS3’s life span before its successor arrives.

The IGC has always been secondary. For two years, there was no IGC. What made PS+ valuable was the cloud saves, the auto-updates and auto trophy syncing, and the discounts. Once the IGC was introduced, the + service was flooded with new subscribers who are only expecting free games, specifically state “this new release looks good, I’ll wait til it’s free”, and demand games that they want and are too cheap to buy. In my honest opinion, the IGC has destroyed the PS+ service. We still get discounts, but they’re no longer the main focus, and they aren’t consistently as deep as they used to be. I’m subbed up through the middle of 2016, because while I may be disappointed with the free offerings on a consistent basis, it’s because I still actually BUY most of the games I want when they come out, and because I know the IGC IS NOT the reason I became a + member.

How many of you whiners even pay for your own Plus memberships in the first place? “Hey, I gotta come on here and cry because my daddy’s not getting his money’s worth. Waaah!” I personally don’t care about Runner 2 or anything else being offered for free later this month. I did appreciate Hitman: Absolution. But in any case it’s all been paid for with a $50 card. For a whole YEAR. So I already have X game, or I don’t care about Y game. So what? There’s more on the way next month and for another 10 months after that (13 if you got in on the extra-3-month deal like I did).
If you absolutely aren’t getting any value from Plus, don’t subscribe to it next time. Otherwise keep your comments constructive, or keep them to yourselves.
By the way, I Youtubed some gameplay footage of Runner 2. Still not interested even for free. BUT…I still love my Plus and all the free/discounted stuff I get with it.

Fun fact: Nintendo updated their store at MIDNIGHT over the WEEKEND in order to have their game available to their fans as soon as possible.
Let’s see what time the PSN updates today… Because you know it’s such a complex issue of updating the store that no one is able to give a time, or do it on time on a weekly basis.

Thanks for the updates Morgan! I’ve had play-station plus for about 2 years total on and off now, and I want to thank you and the team. You guys have been running it great! I enjoyed everything from the ps1 classics to the indie game titles. For those intense months of internet hate you stuck through and happily responded to hate mail. Sure some months aren’t for me either. But the service and how you guys have been actively responding to the consumer is great. I look forward to the next Tuesday morning post as always!

I just signed in and I am already thinking about canceling off PS Plus.
First: I bought Hitman 2 months ago when priced dropped to less than $20 backs on Amazon. I sold it for 15 when I finished playing like I do with most of the games and now for $50 bucks a year I got game that I already played this month, bunch of Indie/Vita games that I wouldn’t pay if they pay me too and Uncharted 3 that I own, Saint Row 3 that I don’t like.
For me it Z E R O value in the last 30 days that I have PS Plus.
And please don’t pull dollar amounts of how much certain games cost that were given for free on PS Plus as an argument to have PS Plus.
Real value is different for everybody and for me Value is zero.
What they offered I already played and own or I wouldn’t take for free if offered.
If they don’t get better I am canceling it.

Yes, there are a lot of ‘free’ games in the IGC. But, relative value?
How valuable to you is a game that you will never play? A book you will never read? A movie you will never watch? A song you will never listen to?
I have yet to even get past booting up Uncharted or Gravity Rush. I had already purchased Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus and Plants vs Zombies.
The only games in the IGC that I ever play are SSFIV AE and NBA Jam: On Fire Edition. Although, I do think I will enjoy Saints Row: The 3rd, Sleeping Dogs, Uncharted 3, Max Payne 3 and Hitman: Absolution.
None of which are on the Vita, which is why I originally signed up in the first place.
To add to my previous comment – four of the five PS3 titles I mentioned are sandbox GTA-ish games.
Not a single RPG or racing game worth its salt, to date.
we’re just comparing it to EU PS+ and their value, nothing much nothing less…….
@tiberije Sorry, but you can’t cancel it. Sony owns you like your their puppet. You signed a contract with them and you must agree to those terms. It’s your fault and you should have never signed up in the first place.
They need to release a 64GB memory card for the Vita and drop the price on the 32GB by half and price the 64GB at $90. Love the Vita sales these next 2 weeks. I plan on purchasing Atelier Totori Plus, Dead or Alive 5 plus, Ridge Racer and maybe a couple others. I hope the upcoming Gamescom 2013 has more Vita news!

Hey Morgan, I wish you would get a section where the “Free games” you been downloaded from plus since you joined in…..Yeah sure you get a list of them when you renew your plus and redownload the free games on download section. Also please improved the IGC…I heard the EU plus members get great stuff than US plus members.

@241 kmetek: IGC = Instant Game Collection, meaning all the free games you can instantly download and play upon subscribing to Plus. You can play any of them even after they drop off the IGC and re-download them free of charge as many times as you wish (like any other digital content), thereby freeing up space on your HD should you decide to delete something. But you don’t get to play any of it once your Plus subscription expires. Only items you actually paid for are yours to keep as a non-member.
@some others: Still don’t care if you already own some or all of the games joining the IGC. You should either stop buying games or stop whining. Maybe asking for games you DO want to get for free in your posts would accomplish more than simply blubbering about getting what you didn’t want. Just sayin.
Still don’t care what EU gets. You know who gets even better games for free than EU? Lottery winners. I’ll bet the EU Blog isn’t full of jealous pants-pissers bleating about lottery winners and all the neat stuff they get. It takes awhile for them to setup the plus games in the U.S. I heard. They have to negotiate with the publishers and Developers. I’m pretty happy with the sales, just wished we could get bigger memory cards. I agree with comment #45. Enough with the indie games! It’s getting ridiculous. Not every PSN game we get has to be some quirky, artsy, indie title. And why the hell did we only get one PS3 retail release this month? And pawning off DLC for a PSN pinball game IS NOT how PS+ should work. These last two months have been absolutely awful (other than Hitman) & are an embarrassment when you compare it to the games that Europe is getting.
I don’t own a Vita, but I would be even more disappointed as a PS+ subscriber if I did. More PSP fighting games? A joke.
This weeks offering is decent. I have to say, I mainly come for the discounts and the sales rather than the IGC. Mainly because I get to choose what’s in my collection whereas I usually just have to get lucky with the IGC. Occasionally there are some good games that I wouldn’t play otherwise because of PS+, but they usually stay on my back burner.
The Vita Japanese game sale is decent. I was hoping the plus prices would be a lower though. Some of them like Soul Sacrifice can be bought for not much more at local retail stores and traded in for store credit. I consider things like that when buying digital content.
I don’t mind playing older games because I’ve been backlogged for so long. Off the top of my head, here’s what I’d like to play:
