  • Just gonna expand a bit on my previous comment (#150):

I say it’s a slow week because while there’s a game I want being added to the IGC (Yay Metal Slug!!) there aren’t too many discounts. I get the most out of my Plus subscription from the weekly sales and this week there’s only one new item discounted (I’m excluding the PLAY sales because those started last week, I believe).

I’d definitely like to see an abundance of sales in the future. July may have spoiled me with the Summer sale we had earlier and last week’s discounts, but sales on just about anything in the Store would be welcome.

Just my two cents, considering Morgan likes his feedback :P!

  • ps+EU is getiing mafia 2 next month hopefully we get it too, idk why EU always gets better games then us can you guys at least explain why that is ?

  • Psyched to hear what’s coming in August and excited for Stealth Inc. tomorrow. I think I’ve bought every crossbuy title that has come out except for Thomas was Alone and I think I may have to remedy that situation soon. As a matter of fact I may purchase the DLC for it since it is on sale and then buy the game if it goes on sale in the near future.

@Morgan Will you be on the blog cast nearing the end of the month to give us some insight into next month’s IGC?

    • Sid I chatted about this and felt that the best approach for the blogcast was to share some other PS Plus insights in the future. But for doing the month outlook before it hits, we didn’t feel like it was the best format. So your best bet will be to stay tuned to the updates here. August outlook should be up on 8/5.

  • Has anyone noticed that + Morgan Haro only answers questions or statements that are positive. He never answers the people that are asking where the PS Vita games are for PS+ members. + Morgan Haro do you have any answers for the people that are asking relative questions??? WHERE ARE THE PS VITA GAMES??? No one gives a care about Thomas was alone.

    PS VITA PRICE: Thomas Was Alone … 9.90 + 1.74 (DLC) = $ 11.64 (Total)

    PC version: Near $ 3 Bucks…..

    THANK YOU!

Another disaster week for your VITA owners! THANK YOU!

+ Morgan Haro, Why dont you try answering these people!!!

    • Comments 29 and 38 say hello.

Aside from that, I’m afraid I’d just spin my and the community’s wheels if I responded to the comments you listed. It’s great feedback, and make no mistake, i report on the sentiment to the PlayStation team. But you have to understand that if there’s nothing that I can do to help that person in the moment because they don’t like a certain game, I can’t really reply because I just don’t have anything that will alleviate their concerns right then and there.

But the REAL community management work happens outside of what you guys see me commenting on in the blog. Take heart dude.

  • Hey Morgan and Need for Speed Most wanted for plus ? thanks :P

  • ChaoticAssault31

I can’t wait to see what is available to PS Plus United States users in August, I hope that some amazing games will be coming. I’m thinking maybe GTA IV? ;D Why does the UK get there Plus Instant Game Collection announcement so early and the US doesn’t,? I want to know what free games I am getting next month too. Anyway, for now I will enjoy some more The Last of Us and Saints Row The Third. :)

  • Must……refrain….from…..Okami HD purchase.

I just know it will be discounted and/or added to the IGC right after I buy it since EU got it recently. :D Need me some Zelda fix!

What I’ve noticed is that you’re not really paying attention to the replies in red.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen Morgan reply to a snotty little crybaby’s comment, and then wondered to myself why he even bothered.

  • I have to buy Ps Plus i love that membership i have it in my other account ((;

  • RoseBladePhantom

@158 what’s your problem? Seems like someone didn’t get their juice and nap today.

  • PrimeroIncognito

    @ RoseBladePhantom

Is that exactly why you responded to me the way you did? You missed your nap too? Waaa!

Actually, I slept in. Off from work today. :)

I just can’t stand idiots, that’s all. Has nothing to do with lack of sleep or food. Idiots always bother me. That’s just the way it is. You wouldn’t understand. It’s a smart person thing… ;)

  • want Metal Slug Collection with all Metal Slug games please!

  • This is really getting tired… No more PSP games please.. If I wanted to play PSP games I would have a PSP. Stop porting over old PSP games and claiming the are new vita games.

If this is the way it’s going to go.. if the 80+ Vita games you promised at E3 are going to be like this, then I will be selling my PS Vita.

And the cross buy thing is cool and all, but that’s just a PSN game shared on Vita.. it’s not a Vita game.

Vita Compatability is not the same as Vita GAMES!

  • Nothing for me this week hopefully Augusts games for PS3 will blow us away. I am still hoping Catherine joins soon.

Ryumoau on July 22nd, 2013 at 9:51 am said: “Still amazes me how much Sony ignores that poll they took late last year asking us what genres we’d like to see in plus. Rpg won by a landslide, yet we still kept getting boring fighting and shooting games.”

And it still amazes me that you still haven’t figured out how the program works. Despite literally hundreds of posts explaining how the process works and how agreements are required from all the parties involved, you still retain the simpleton’s viewpoint, imagining that it’s all a matter of simply pushing a magic button that makes everything fall into place.

Are you ever going to pull your head out of your backside? Ever think about giving reality a chance?

  • Hey Morgan, when are we going to see the original .hack// series ported to the VITA?

  • Not sure why I keep reading the comments every week, I know what I’m going to find. The people that complain make me sick, either stop paying for plus or shut up.

  • What happened to Dokuro for Vita? It was never placed as a new item on the store but was announced to be free at the beginning of this month.

  • I had PS+ when it initially launched and initially thought it was a good value. Once I found out what PS+ had given in Europe I let my account lapse and have no intention to renew it until I am forced to get it for online play with PS4,. The list of games that Europe was given makes me feel totally burned. This needs to be fixed, the games given for PS+ should be global, I should not be given inferior games just because I live in the USA. I guess my money doesn’t mean as much to Sony, so therefore I quit giving it to them for this service. All those “free” games are no longer playable for me so PS+ at this point was a colossal waste of money.

  • @ Morgan and 154

I don’t think many of us take issue with your response to positive comments. we just don’t see our questions answered as well. Our questions aren’t addressed in any forum or dialogue. Most aren’t even complaints we just want to know what’s up. for instance here are 5 good questions we’d love to hear answered.

Why is the EU version of plus so radically different from ours (write an entire blog post on it) Just tel us know what’s up.

Why haven’t we seen any rpg’s in plus since the survey we filled out months ago

Why do we always see pricing errors or misspellings in U.S. blog posts

Why don’t we see dlc discounts for games when they become free for plus subscribers (this is a big question)

Finally why can’t U.S. customers who prefer EU’s service simply subscribe to that service.

  • Morgan,
Can this please be the last PSP title in the IGC? Please? There are more than enough Vita games in circulation at this point to end this practice. I would rather see a small $5 Vita game included than any PSP game, well except for Portable Ops! I mean, I own two PSPs (a 1000 and a 3000) that I use to play, you guessed it, PSP games! But I bought a Vita on launch day to play new Vita games, not a bunch of old PSP games!

    Thanks!

  • Cool might download this for the heck of it, and also people read descriptions and follow the flow…for the people who complained about EU getting better games they get different games because they are different market. they have different rules and usually different publishers for many of their games, which can change what Sony gets to put on their IGC in each area if you really want to complain to people go complain to the publishers who restrict us getting these things.

i for one love that all i had to pay was $50 and ive gotten way more games than i would have for that price in a normal setting

  • I love psplus! Best sub service ever. Good games is a subjective thing. I have pretty much enjoyed every title made available to us in the US. Not gonna pout and whine because EU got RDR and Batman. I mean I really wanted to play those when they came out many years ago so I did. :D Seems like lots of folks just sit on their hands waiting for a game to come to the IGC that they’ve been wanting to play. Wrong way to look at it if you ask me. Go buy the games you want and support the industry. Enjoy the ones you get with your sub without trying to hate everything made available to you. Cheers!

  • PrimeroIncognito

    @ purse317

I know you’re asking Morgan, and he can answer if he wants, but I figured I could explain SOME of these things for you.

    1. They’re not “radically” different, in fact, some of it is the same. But where it is different, is because it’s a different region with different standards and customs, and that’s just for starters. Publishers also decide what goes where based on their own numbers in hand/projections for that area. It’s a game of read and react. Make the most appropriate move for each specific region while balancing the finances involved. Thus, they’re bound to end up different, and one will always look better than another to each individual. There are probably plenty of people who prefer the NA Plus over EU, but you don’t hear about it because only whiners are making all the noise which makes you think they’re greater in number than they actually are.

  • Just subscribed some days ago and I’m full of games to play already. Love this service!
Now the only drawback is the storage capacity lol
Please bring Catherine, Mass Effect 3, ICO/Shadow and Okami HD to northamerican store :)

  • PrimeroIncognito

    2. Haven’t there been some RPGs? I could have sworn there’s been a couple, but I don’t play RPGs, so I don’t pay too much attention to them. But clearly, the lesser amount of RPGs is due to contractual agreements not yet established between the publishers of those RPGs and SCEA.

    3. Don’t know what to say about that one. I’m still pondering that myself…

    4. I’ve actually seen this happen, so maybe this is another case of selective memory. But when it doesn’t happen, it could either be, again, a decision based on a contractual agreement with the publisher, or perhaps it’s Sony’s decision, likely based on re-couping some of the losses that they, and publishers, do indeed take from offering content at such a low rate. And that’s not greed. Surviving in business is like walking a tightrope. Balance must constantly be kept in check. I know all the spoiled kids don’t understand this and think everything should be free all the time, but if their own parents worked for free, they wouldn’t have any food on the table every night, now would they?

  • PrimeroIncognito

    5. I don’t see anyone stopping you from doing that, but, as with the NA subscription, you may end up not liking it for one reason or another and if that happens, please remember that it’s your own money that you decided to gamble with, and therefore, you would be way out of line for blaming SCEE for somehow not reading your mind and giving you exactly what you wanted, just as it’s wrong to blame SCEA for the same thing here.

They’ve been upfront with every aspect of the program and have yet to deceive anyone, so the blame for any disappointment in this case falls directly on the consumer. Clearly, the grotesque sense of entitlement is the biggest problem here…

Maybe all the whiners should look in the mirror first? Could that help solve this “problem”? I think so. ;)

  • @137

So you just weren’t listening, or don’t care how much better Vita makes ALL PSP games? This is why I’m mad at Sony a bit that they refused to put the PSPs comic reader on Vita so people can view and buy digital comics for Vita. They would actually be enjoyable to read on Vita, which they just weren’t on PSP….which is why people weren’t buying them (along with being a bit expensive for old-new comics).

Regarrless if bilinear and color filtering helps a game or not which is hit and miss, but ALL PSP games look multitudes better just due to the screen compared to PSPs screen, and there’s no other way to see PSP games on a quality screen. GT PSP looks like GT4 almost, it didn’t on PSPs screen. And PS1 games look better than on my 1080p tv.

But more importantly, the games are all functionally better. Alot of PSP games were only considered bad because the controls were bad. Vita makes alot of bad PSP games great and alot of great PSP games amazing. And the same goes for some PS1 games cuz PS3 doesn’t have the great button mapping. Vita is by far the best platform for PSP and PS1 games. Which imo is worth Vitas price alone.

  • stop with the psp games, i’m at the point of regretting my PS+ Subscription !!

give us some RETAIL vita games like rayman maybe come on !!

the eu ps+ and asian ps+ is night and day different they are getting retail vita games every month while the U.S + members are getting what ? old mediocre psp games mostly ? come on enough is enough give us some RETAIL AAA VITA GAMES LIKE OUT ASIAN AND EU COUNTER PARTS !!

  • I’m curious why people think it makes any sense at all to compare the prices of PC games and console versions of the same game? Developers and publishers will take any dollar they can get for PC versions of their games. They can really only offer their product dirt cheap on Steam, otherwise a good majority of PC gamers will just steal i……uhhhh…..I mean play it for free somehow…..yeah…..that’s it…….

I’m happy not holding developers hostage for their hard work. Though I do think digital versions of retail games should be significantly cheaper to stimulate digital sales which would cut down on some pollution. But I digress.

  • PrimeroIncognito

So, after pondering the issue (for a couple minutes, ha ha) of the multiple typos appearing in almost all of the Drop, Plus Update, and Store Update posts, I’d bet that it’s probably because the people putting it together must be rushing through some of their work in order to meet deadlines in other areas. They’re probably busier than you think.

Now, of course, when you make mistakes and have to go back and clean them up it makes the whole thing take even longer than it would have if you had just relaxed and done it right the first time, but hey, whatever. It’s something they’ll figure out eventually.

This type of thing has been going on in the working world for ages. It happens every day, everywhere. Plenty of you complaining kids have done it yourself, rushing through your homework so you can hang out with your friends sooner, or to get back to that game you were playing. Then, you end up getting a worse grade, or end up less prepared for a test because of it. You know you’ve done it, I’ve done it too. We’re all imperfect and make mistakes. No big deal. It’s only a problem when you deny the mistake has been made and fail to correct it.

  • I just want to note that I’m really glad to see Morgan responding to comments so deep in the thread. The PS blog is one of the things Sony and Playstation have really gotten right this generation, and it’s great to know that our feedback is not only being listened to, but also responded to as warranted.

Those who are complaining about this week’s update seem to forget that historically, the summer has been hit or miss with PSN and PS+ updates in the lull of E3. The Q3/Q4 release calendar is coming, and it’ll be here before we know it. Be patient, folks.

Also, I want to say that I actually have ENJOYED some of the Vita PS+ games that have been released — SoulCalibur and Tekken 6 were welcome additions to my library, as Metal Slug will be. I actually miss getting minis and PSX games in the Plus update, since those have also been great to have on my Vita.

There seems to be a small, but vocal, group of people who just want to scream, “WHAR MY FREE STUFF? WHAR?” and who are never happy with what they get.

Personally, I think PS+ is great and I love everything about PSN but the storefront program itself (so much so that I’m using my PC instead of my PS3 to browse it). But you can’t have everything, I suppose.

  • PrimeroIncognito

    @ Darth-Krayt

“Though I do think digital versions of retail games should be significantly cheaper to stimulate digital sales which would cut down on some pollution.”

That’s a good point, for sure, but I’m pretty sure they can’t do that just yet. Perhaps after it becomes the norm (and the switch will take some time) and it becomes less expensive to run their business that way, then they’ll continually pass on the inherited savings, but until then, I think digital pricing is as good as it can be right now.

It will change, though. Things always do. People just need to be patient. We’ll get there eventually.

Good things take time. They’re also worth waiting for.

  • Eeeew, nothing for me this week. :P

It’s fine though, didn’t even have the chance to play Virtue’s Last Reward and I’m so curious about it.

  • LOL just give us 2 vita game and 1 psp game or 2 if so kind…then everyone will be happy….next month i wish for:

    metal gear solid HD
    monster hunter unite
    ragnarok odyssey
    dynasty warrior next

but most all jrpg….because their story are way better than any genre… the more jrpg the better

  • Thanks, Morgan for the update. I’m not too excited for the psp title, but appreciate seeing more titles available on the vita. I have a lot of other great games I’d like to catch up on. I bought Thomas Was Alone when it was on sale and have enjoyed it so I’ll be getting the dlc while it’s discounted as well. Really excited to try out Stealth as well.

To those who mentioned getting Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, it was free for plus members in January.

  • sony, you treat vita owners really bad. I feel offended that i made a NA subscription when i look at EU offerings. PSP games for Vita, really? We don’t need psp crap, i didn’t buy a nextgen console for this

  • Is there any chance we will see Intelligent Qube in PSN? I know it is there in Japan…

  • @Darth-Krayt yeah, for example I just bought Giana Sisters: Twisted Dream on Steam for $2.99. I checked to see the price on PSN because I would have preferred this game on my PS3 but the Playstation Store listed it for $14.99. It’s a fun game and all but not worth $15, so steam got my money.

They really need to find a way to be more competitive on the prices, for the indies especially

  • I am SOO pleased with PS Plus It’s the only thing keeping me busy since I’am having to save for the ps4 . but there are some things that I don’t care for. For instance some of the psp games are not all that great, if you where to offer monster hunter or one of the medal of honor games that would be great. and Little Big Planet VITA would be great also, and maybe even a discount on the walking dead on release that would be amazing!!!

  • Releasing PSP games on Vita is very lazy from you, like cheating.

  • ps+
    sony is ousem
    i love playstation+ free games,discaunts,and more.

  • @179 Darth-Krayt – Man, if that’s not the best pitch for me to get a PS Vita as soon as possible. But, yet, I still am not satisfied with the high-price, proprietary memory cards. I could’ve bumped up my PSP to a 32 GB on a microSD card w/ adapter for…don’t remember the price that day on Amazon, but at least half, if not maybe a quarter of the Vita’s equivalent price. And, heck, I think my 3DS has a 16 GB card compared to my PSP’s 8 GB (which I’m constantly switching out IGC games to try things out; with fighters and a Monster-Hunter-alike, that “slot” is regularly vacated for me so far).

  • No PSP games.

  • @OUTCAST-DIGITAL only $96.59 left to pay on mine…then the waiting begins. I’ll have a nice, pretty receipt that I’ve been keeping on my Persona 4 Golden game case. Gonna be a looooong summer :p

  • @ 1EU & US plus are significantly different. My younger brother is doing study abroad in London and what he gets on plus is for the most part on par and in many cases better than what we see. EU plus members see 3 ps3 titles a moth usually full titles not psn releases. I like psn releases don’t getme wrong but when comparing that to 3 full length titles give me te full length game.

Case in point August eu plus
    Mafia II
    Spec Ops
    Need For Speed
When Vikings Attack (ps vita and ps3 version)
LEGO Lord of the Rings (vita)

Did we have a Knights and Witches sale (rpg’s mostly) nope In fact we see the same games multiple times in the weekly deal section of the store over and over and over again. AMY has been in the weekly deal for months literally.

Look at the crap sales we had last week or the week before for the summer blast sure those were decent deals but the second you compare those sales to Steam’s sale or even M$ sale ours looked like a last ditch crappy effor.

  • @TJF588 I wish that they would drop the price on those memory cards. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard someone say that they were waiting for the price to drop before they buy a Vita

  • You do not understand what the owners are saying the Vita!

1 – All appreciate your work!

2 – The problem is: HOW MANY games VITA EXCLUSIVE = VITA PS VITA are available?NO game! … And this has occurred MONTHS AGO!

3 – How many games PORTS not exclusive to Vita has been launched and HOW MANY are priced overrated … Answer: EVERYONE!

4 – Play PSP is cool, everyone likes … but WHERE ARE the classic games like Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Kingdom Hearts BBS FINAL MIX, or even what the FOR OVER TWO YEARS fans BEGGING as Crash, Spyro and others? …. NO REPLY!
