PlayStation Plus: 3 New Fixtures in the Instant Game Collection

With E3 right around the corner, everyone here at PlayStation is putting the final touches on what’s sure to be an exciting event for gamers everywhere. Among other things, we’re excited to see PlayStation Plus continue to evolve, and we’re happy to announce the inclusion of three new PS3 Full Games.

With next week’s PlayStation Store update, we’ll welcome UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and LittleBigPlanet: Karting into the Instant Game Collection!

As many of you keenly observed in Monday’s PlayStation Plus blog post, three PS3 Full Games – LittleBigPlanet 2, inFAMOUS 2, and Ratchet & Clank All 4 One – have only four days left in the Instant Game Collection. This means that it’s your last chance to download these great titles as they’ll be stepping down after a year of faithful PS Plus service.

You’ll find all the content detailed above with their Plus benefits active when the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesday; along with additional Plus content that was announced as part of the June preview, and special discounts as well.

Speaking of the June preview, with all this PS Plus content, this month is shaping up to be one of the best PlayStation Plus months yet. UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception (PS3), XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PS3), and LittleBigPlanet: Karting (PS3) are all dropping next week, joining Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PS3) which joined PS Plus last week. You’ll still have Machinarium (PS3), Saints Row The Third (PS3), Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward (PS Vita), and God Eater Burst (PSP, PS Vita compatible), all coming in June as well! It’s never been a better time to join up.

FTR: Glad to see Gods Eater Burst in the IGC. It’s caught my eye before, but I’m worried… Haven’t looked into it, but if it’s enough like Monster Hunter, my very brief stint with the 3DS entry’s demo didn’t sell me on the series, so I dunno how well I’d get into GEB. But, too lazy to look up deets about a game I’ll download regardless.

On that note: Get Dead Head Fred into the IGC! And Half-Minute Hero (since the PC version’s the strongest anyway).

Amazing month, amazing program. I am looking forward to going back to UC on hardest difficulty.

How is this not advertised in GameStop, Best Buy and on TV? Even a simple ad, with a subtle comparison to XBOX Live benefits would make so much sense.

I currently have a 500 GB personally, a 320 GB in the living room, and swapped one of the 160 GB from those two into my brother’s 60 GB model.

Or, that is, WILL swap them, next time I can stay there overnight. That backup utility takes forever (one of the biggest weakpoints of the PS3, along with its terrible download and installation speeds).

Sony are we ever going to get velocity ultra? Or coconut dodge( I know it just came out last week) or that octopus vita game? Quell was fun but a quick 100% just like most of the indie games you release, they dont last me more than 2-3 days, most of them. I’ve played 83 vita games, it would be a higher number but the price or my lack of interest of the few I haven’t played leaves me dying for Tuesday every week.

I have to ask were these games wise picks

LBP karting was on sale for $10 a few months back for plus members an dI ike many others bough tit just for the crzy discount

UC3 is one of Sony’s best sellers surely many plus members like myself purchased it plus it was sold as a system bundle

XCOM was unexpected I own it but no complaints their play it if you haven’t hopefully it’ll get more people to pick up XCOM the Bureau later this year

Please make Jeanne D’arc Vita compatible and add it to the IGC. I want to play it again on my Vita without having to rebuy it.

While on the topic, I would like to see more PSP games in the IGC. As it stands right now, 1/2 the instant game collection for Vita has remained unchanged since launch. Part of the reason is probably the total lack of Vita software to begin with. If you actually added 5 new games a month, the entire Vita library would have been free on plus by now.

So instead of having Uncharted, Gravity Rush and Wipeout sit there forever, why not rotate in and out some PSP stuff more frequently.

Great update! I can finally play a home console Uncharted (been meaning too but many other games take priority). Looking forward to God Eater Burst as well. Sony, please release higher capacity Vita memory cards ASAP!

Sony didn’t shaft you. Consoles have always been more expensive at launch than at a later date. Also, Hard drive sizes have gone up and prices have come down a lot since the ps3 launch, thats not sonys fault. If you want more space, Sony allows you to upgrade your ps3 to a 1TB hard drive if you want. A 500gb drive costs 50 bucks online.

Man, I really need to buy a PS3 again. Mine broke last year and was having issues all through 2010-early 2012 before finally dying. I never got to play the Uncharted trilogy. When will these free games mentioned in the post go away? I’m hoping for a price drop at E3 so if these expire the first week of July I might be able to work around that. Can anyone tell me when these games will leave plus?

Amazing..Amazing line up! Great job! I absolutely love being a PS+ user and me, I fought it and fought it. I don’t like subscriptions, i don’t like things I gotta pay for all the time but wow! Sony is awesome and PS+ is a great way to slap my xbox friends in the face.

Am I exaggerating or is this at least $120 worth of free games this month alone? Not bad for a $4.17/month sub.

I don’t understand why people complain about already owning a PS+ game. DOESN’T THAT ONLY MEAN that Sony is giving you games you are interested in?

Besides, if you have the disk based version sell it! It will pay for your free games and you still get to keep the game!

I LOVE PS Plus, and even though I already own the majority of the games that are announced every month, I appreciate the extra love that comes along. PS Plus is like the gift that keeps on giving :D

I’m excited for the people who have a PS3, but where’s the vita love? The only thing added for Vita was God Eaters Burst, a PSP game. Please tell me theres more.

All 3 of you are wrong.

Supposedly, you do NOT need 43.5 GB (97GB) of free space. The reason is because that GOTY bundle is actually laid out in multiple files (map packs, language packs, etc.). The “Single Player Experience” add-on supposedly is split off into multiple files – the SP itself, 2D, and 3D (stereoscopic) movies. ALL of which are 12-13 GB, EACH. Then of course there’s the language packs, and the F2P base package.

In reality, you’ll only need about 30GB (60GB) if you just want to play the Single Player Experience, in English, and don’t have a 3D TV.

Of course, this is a complete guess as I don’t have the game, so take it with a grain of salt.

Welcome Back from vacation Morgan, Have to say people did call Uncharted 3 and LBP Karting to Plus. Looks great to me. Kind of hoped SR3 was going to be this upcoming week update but Next week is fine too… This is amazing for E3 week. I’ll check out XCOM too. Deus Ex didn’t suit me much, I love stealth but they tried to mix in Action with stealth and didn’t do it well in my opinion. It’s either one or the other. Trying to find ammo when you choose to be lethal in an obvious stealth set mission lacked really hard. Too many guards not enough bullets.

Glad that you are back Morgan. No one has an excuse now, they need to play Uncharted, hopefully this will make people go back and buy Uncharted 1 & 2.

Maybe they will even buy The Last of Us, since it’s from the same developers of Uncharted. I already own Uncharted 3 and LBP Karting, but this XCOM game sounds interesting…

Great update, looking forward to Virtue’s Last Reward for Vita this month. A big discount on Soul Sacrifice would be nice to for Plus members., just giving suggestions ;)

Omg….Uncharted 3, LBP Karting, and Xcom all retail games Ive been wanting to play forever? At once? With more later to come this month? You guys must be trying to send PS3 out with a bang or something because this is amazing! Loving this update ^^ By the way quick question not sure if its been answered but will PS4 be getting an IGC just curious because im definetly buying one cant wait to see it more at E3.

XCOM is a welcome surprise, it’s a game I’ve wanted for a long time.

Other than that, I can’t find any other positives about this. Uncharted 3 (single player only), what a joke. So many PS3 owners already own this game, and it’s blatantly obvious that this is part of their dirty moneymaking scam that is UC3 multiplayer. If you want to get everything, it costs like $80, but yet you can buy Uncharted 3 GOTY from Amazon for less than $20. They are preying on stupid/uninformed people.

Not impressed, still patiently waiting until my PS+ subscription runs out.

Cool, been wanting to play XCOM, LBPK ehhhh not really, Uncharted 3 I own, but the sheer size of it would make me ignore the free version if I didnt.

Also off topic Fatal Frame 2 has disappeared from the Playstation store, I already own it, but my cousin brought that to my attention today, any reason for that?
And one thing ive been wondering whats with the friday release for The Last of Us?

What happened to Orc Attack!? I was really looking forward to it. Gods Eater Burst is no good for me. I already own it. I want to see more real Vita games on IGC. (Not just backwards-compatible PSP games.)

I am a huge RPG fan and would like to see things like Atelier Totori Plus, Ragnarok Odyssey, Army Corps of Hell, New Little Kings Story, and Orgarhythm for Instant Game Collection. Make it so.
