If you were wise enough to purchase a copy of God of War: Ascension, you can now pop that disc into your PS3 and download the demo for The Last of Us. Instructions for installation came with a voucher code inside the Ascension case, so find that flyer and get to downloading! If you’re having trouble finding the flyer, just insert your God of War: Ascension disc into your PS3, select “The Last of Us™ Early Access” on the main menu, and you’ll be taken to the PlayStation Store to download the demo. Once downloaded, simply find it on your XMB and install it to start playing.
The demo features the Outskirts level of The Last of Us, in which Joel and Ellie, along with Tess, will encounter multiple Infected enemies. Runners and Clickers have distinct behaviors and methods of attacking you. You’re going to need to explore the environment and scavenge your surroundings for items and objects that might give you the kind of offensive or defensive advantage that suits your play style.
If you’re already sold, this demo should sate your hunger for the full game until it launches (just over two weeks from now!). If you haven’t read or seen much about The Last of Us, hopefully this demo will pique your curiosity to pre-order The Last of Us today. The Last of Us will be available June 14th, 2013.

Some just don’t want to waste their money due to the lack of time available to them to take advantage of everything PS+ has to offer.
If I’m paying $60 a year for tons of content, I want to be able to enjoy all of it, not a portion.

Why would Naughty Dog release a small 130mb file to for the demo and once u boot up the demo, you still got to wait another 15-20 mins for the ACTUAL demo to finally download. I am at 15% right now

That’s funny, because the complain here is that Sony seems not to be. If there’s anyway who should understand how many people try to download at once it should be them. Im back….why? Because apparently the demo WASNT ON the disc, and after the initial 135 mb download, there is ANOTHER MUCH LARGER FILE to download. What this confirms is Sony did the absolute dirtiest thing of all, and basically drm-ed you for access to a demo. Smh. For Sony’s sake, they better hope this game is what people expect it to be.

It’s not about people being impatient. It’s about Sony continuously screwing up the simplest things. This is about accountability and reliability. They JUST made a blog post about the demo being available, and everyone is left with an error message. In any job, if you screw up so many things in a row, you get fired.

Oh yeah, I totally agree with you, they should not have posted that on the blog and yes they should have been prepared. You are right. I just think that we as gamers should be a bit more considerate. These things happen often on PlayStation. As long as I get my content in a timely manner, I don’t care if there are a few minor issues like a server overload, that’s predictable.
I hope the PS4 doesn’t have these sort of problems :-/

This is for the people that consider non-playstation plus members freeloaders. Before you speak realize that some like myself OWN every PS+ game. Why the hell would I pay a fee to play games I own on disk? I payed full retail price for those games. Unlike whoever is complaining about being a free loader, you are the free loader basically. You pay a monthly/annual fee to play Infamous 2, LBP2, A4O, etc…well I own all of these. I don’t need to pay to play them. That is the only thing different from being a plus member or not, besides for the discounts. I don’t need a discount on games because I own anything worth playing. You need to realize that you’re being ignorant as hell by calling non-plus members free loaders. You too are free loading. With or without you can still play online. If you don’t like owning a huge library of games then good for you, enjoy plus. I for one love looking at my shelves full of games.

130…You got it completely wrong actually. I was downloading the demo as I was reading Batman Hush, which I recommend to any Batman fan. Once I got done speaking to your likes, I took a shower. I’m not going to the fair until 1pm which it clearly isn’t 1pm yet. Stop assuming what you do not know. Loser much? Sure if you say so, at least I’m not an ignorant child like yourself.
Well I finally got GOW:A to work. I had to delete all of its save and game data and re-download all of the patches…kinda ridiculous.
I was able to download the Demo and I think it was worth the hassle. Im still holding out for an announcement of a PS4 version though, however i may give in.
Also too add once more, if you think I’m a loser you sir are incorrect. I at least wasn’t crying about not being able to download a demo. I’m done catering to your trolling needs by the way. Now that I’m busy I don’t need to reply to some nonsense. Well worth my first time actually logging in and replying to some troll. I enjoyed this, maybe I’ll do it again some time. It’s pretty simple what happened.
A game that is very anticipated get a demo. Sony posts that it’s ready and a mad rush is on.
They anticipated how many might want it based on GOW sales. The system could not handle all the requests at once and it crashed. They needed time to reboot the servers and all is good now.
You can anticipate all you want, but it’s difficult to get it right even if you over engineer something.

I cant tell you how much I WISH with every fibre of myself that ND never made this DAMN demo. I stumbled on the fact that hackers had hacked this demo and revealed all the titles of the cut scenes. I didn’t know anything about it, went on Youtube to watch the PS4 show again and there was a comment from a jealous xbox fanboy spoiling the end for everyone!
