PlayStation Plus Update: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend Free For Members

Hey PlayStation Plus fans, the first thing you might notice this week is the notable lack of Morgan in this post. Not to worry, he’s taking a quick break as we ramp up to E3, and I’ll be trying to fill his shoes in the meantime. With that sorted, on to the content!

We have two Timed Themes this week that Plus members will want to check out. Vita fans need to also be sure to pick up BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend for free. Beyond that PlayStation Plus members are getting a handful of discounts for PS Vita and PS3 games. Check out the details below!

Yes, I bought the game on day 1, and buy every DLC pack on day 1 also.

I never said anyone was stupid, and I’m aware that even a complete moron could figure out how to install the game.

I’m honestly and seriously confused by all these reports I’m hearing because I haven’t experienced a single hiccup with any of these updates. All leaderboards work fine for me, for every table, on every tab – Friends, Overall, My Score, Weekly, Monthly, and All-Time… and every combination of those… all work fine for me, faster than ever after installing update 2.11.

The game seems to run more smoothly for me too. I’m experiencing less “stiffness” on the main menu than before, and I still to this day have never had any flipper lag (even on 1080p), which is something else numerous other users have reported. The only thing I still get every now and then is the ol’ ball through the flipper glitch… but not often, thankfully.

I was reading your thread over on the fan forum, and I saw your video too. I’m not experiencing the same thing you are. Those leaderboards you had are seriously screwed, indeed. Everything is running great on my end, so I don’t know why others are not. It’s strange that it would only affect some people and not everyone.

I noticed that you guys had figured that maybe a large friends list is causing the leaderboard glitch, so just to throw my info out there (if it helps): I have a total of 25 PSN friends, 6 of them on TPA, and they all show up just fine, as always, and they even load up faster now.

When I experienced the new speedy leaderboards for the first time last week, I was pleasantly surprised, and excited that FarSight was finally going out of their way to address all the little nagging issues that have plagued us from the beginning. Now I hear about all the problems some of you are having, and I’m wondering how I got so lucky and escaped these new bugs… and hope nothing worse happens…

Hope it works out for you. It would suck to lose your scores.

I’d just like to add another vote to the please no more fighters for a while. Maybe some sidescrolling brawlers but no more one-on-one Street Fighter clones. Not the greatest update this week, but I guess better things are just around the corner, hopefully. I’ll probably download the Sly trial if nothing else.

I’m thinking its a problem with anybody that has downloaded the game since it was offered as a Plus game. But then again, I think some people have been able to download it this past week as well. It is a truly bizarre conundrum, and intensely frustrating since at this point I feel like it will never be solved. I’d love to play the game, but because of this bug I don’t think I can even buy it outright. But like I said, enough people are getting hit with this error that there has to be SOME kind of explanation. It sounds like an awesome game, and I’m glad you’ve had such a great experience with it. I just hope the rest of us are able to as well!

@xClayMeow lol u must be kiding… Knytt dont need skills… need patiente to hold on playing the uglies game i ever see in ps3… i love plataformes, actually had buyed/donwloaded and won: Rayman Origins (thats a beautifull/hillarius game…) LBP, Oscure, The Cave, etc etc.

Knytt, Malicius and the Pinball has been the worst game i had donwload/erase from mi ps3.

This month only gave us 1 decent game…. and not 1 great discount X.x

  Yeah, as noted before, I was out yesterday for the US holiday. As for last week’s Plus Update, Morgan got that out before he headed off to vacation, so there was no one free to comment. Terribly sorry about that, but we *do* read all the comments and take all of the feedback in. I tried to play a bit of catch up on the comments today, and I’ll be here to grab the comments next week for the Plus post as well.

@212 lucky dog, cuz in the beginning I could download it but not install. Now I cant download it at all “connection to server or device has been lost” which is bs cuz I downloaded guilty gear. And if I try to transfer from ps3 it says part of the game is missing, or something close to that.

My enthusiasm for these great additions to the PS Vita IGC is always a bit muted because of my tiny 8GB memory card, and the still outrageous prices of Vita memory. It continues to be the thing holding back the platform, in my opinion. Sony would sell so much more Vita software to me if I had a place to put it. And I have trouble believing that it isn’t possible. One can easily find a Sony-branded microSDHC card (comparable physical dimensions to Vita memory cards) on Amazon for less than a dollar per gigabyte.

But, if you aren’t willing to lower the price, Sony, maybe you could at least include a year of PS+ with the 32GB card, and 3 months with the 16GB?

On the PS3 side, I replaced my 160GB hard drive with a commodity 1TB drive for less than the MSRP of the 16GB Vita card, and it will make me a PS+ member as long as that system runs.

Also, please give us that awesome ‘Witches and Knights’ sale that EU had weeks ago. It was a great discount of several titles like Ni No Kuni, Dragon Age, and Game of Thrones.

I would definitely buy a 32GB Vita card if it came with a year of Plus.I hate having to constantly “Clean out the fridge” just to play games on my Vita with my 16GB card And it has even prevented me from buying as many games as I would have otherwise. But refuse to pay the ridiculous $80-$100 price.All the Vita Memory card prices should be cut in half.
I Was going to suggest making a way for Plus Members to buy Memory Cards at a discounted price But including a year of Plus would bring the total Value to about the same.

Thanks for all the answers, Paul. In the 24/7-online world of the internet sometimes people forget that indeed there are such thing as holidays, families, and so on. :)

Anyway, I’m glad that the Vita Pinball Arcade problem is on everyone’s mind. I really hope that this kind of issue is now duly noted and won’t happen again in the future. It would be a terrible thing for PS+ if people had to be afraid of actually not being able to download their free games on time for this subscription-based service. Not being able to play a certain game for a week or more can drastically reduce the value of the subscription for some…

YAY! Yet another a) fighting game b) game I already own. Please take a look at the material Sony EU has been offering for plus members. You have heard the complaints before about sticking to the fighting genre for a good majority of free plus games recently, but it seems like you guys are just ignoring / not caring. If you guys don’t start picking up the pace like Sony EU did, I will be forced to buy an Xbox One and watch live TV (OMG!) while earning achievements for surviving through an entire episode of judge Judy. True gaming experience right there!

@Zanir9x While I would like to see some of those games on PSN, why would you think Sony or even Square-Enix would take the time to put the PS2 version of Final Fantasy X on PSN when an HD remaster for PS3 & Vita is in the works? Think about that for a second.

Aww man! Nothing for me this week again. The only good thing is blaze blue but I don’t even own a vita so.. lol Ahhh well! I just hope they release more full title PS3 games for free, not just PSN downloadable titles. I wanna feel loved for being a PS Plus member! xD

Fuse 1 hour trial!!! sweet!! I tried renting it on gamefly, but they suck and decided not to send me it. Problem is that it’s not worth buying and 1 hour won’t satisfy my urge for a co-op game.

Wow, nothing. Sleeping Dogs was good, but Europe got Dead or Alive 5 (a game I DESPERATELY want to play) and Hitman Absolution (another great game), what’s with Europe getting all these high quality games while we’re stuck with sub-par fighting games for the Vita and discounts on random games that I wouldn’t even download on my Android, much less on my Vita.

Just asking for some equality is all.
