I’m so very happy to see PS Plus improving with day one discounts. That really makes us feel good to be plus members.

Moving forward, a few targets for improvement to possibly focus on:

1) Letting us know consistently in advanced the next month’s plan. We had to wait well into May this month to know the discounts. Europe consistently gets the update plans a half a month before. I would love this time line for us too.

2) Some ps2 classics would be really nice along with the usual rotation of stuff. There are some great titles in the backlog now.

3) Keep spreading out the generas. I feel like you guys are dipping pretty heavily into outdated fighting games to fill the months…. not many people want to play backlogged titles when newer versions are out (tekken 6, Soul Calibur psp, and blaze blue all have updates for them out now… ) (though personally I’d love to get that new Guilty Gears)

This may be my personal list, but at least no. 1 would be amazing.

  The month outlook is planned as the first Monday of the month. Can’t really do much with that. But right now, it’s happening on the week after the last game releases that was announced in the prior month.

First of all, do you realize that your feeling that indie games are “trash” is merely an OPINION? Have you not been paying attention to how many people express their satisfaction with these types of games, including Knytt Underground in this particular case? How many of these indie games that you consider to be “trash” have you actually played?

Well, I’ve played Knytt Underground. ‘Cause I own it. I completed the main story, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Is it for everyone? No, but nothing is ever for everyone (other than bare necessities, of course). Does that make it trash? No.

I enjoy indie games, so much in fact, that I usually feel more satisfied at the end of one than I do with a big budget game. In my OPINION, indie games tend to have a lot more heart, creativity, and passion than the so-called “big games”. Now, I’m not saying the big games suck, because I enjoy them too, and I’ve played a few uninspired indie games as well, but overall, from what I’ve seen, indie studios have definitely earned the right to have their work placed right alongside the big boys in the marketplace.

Also, you contradicted yourself right in the beginning. You said you understand me, but then proceeded to make the same mistake all the other fools do by claiming that indie games are getting in the way of AAA titles “on the network”, whatever that means. Wrong. No indie game has ever kept a big budget game from being released. There’s room for every developer who wants to put their game on PSN. It’s not like were in a physical store where shelf space is limited.

PSN provides a variety of genres, catering to all tastes. That’s a good thing. You can buy what you like, and ignore what you don’t. How hard is that to understand? When have you ever been restricted from buying the titles that you want because an indie game was forced upon you instead? Never. And don’t try the random nature of Plus argument… it won’t work. Remember, Plus is an entirely voluntary program, and the random nature of it’s offerings were made clear from day one. You’ve never been deceived. Don’t even try…

A funny little thing I’ve noticed…

Most of the whiners who cry on and on about wanting big budget AAA titles in their IGC collection are the same dorks who turn around and bash people like me for supposedly supporting “Big Evil Sony”. Isn’t that funny?

I’m the guy who buys a lot of indie games, yet somehow I’m a corporate stooge? And you dorks are the ones who only want games that are funded, directed, censored, and controlled by corporate agendas, yet somehow you fancy yourself to be some independent rebel giving the finger to Uncle Sam? You guys are so damn backwards and confused, that I’m actually surprised that you’ve even figured out how to eat with your mouths and crap out your butts rather than trying to do it the other way around.

I don’t know the exact process through which games are released on PS+, obviously. That said, it should not be so difficult to represent each genre on a regular basis. I am seeing a lot of Fighting games (it is my second favorite genre) so I would suggest what you probably already know…but how about this? Give us rare games that we cannot really find to buy anyway, like Valkyria Chronicles (eBay is my only option, even GameStop didn’t have it).

Also, concerning PSP games, I do think that they add value to the IGC, but it’s trickier. Giving us the best from PSP would fare better. I’d enjoy Tactics Ogre, for example (Tactical RPGs).

I wish I didn’t have a job. I wish I could beat all these free games that PSPlus delivers. I MISS HAVING NOTHING TO DO BUT BEAT FINAL FANTASY GAMES!!

But then if I didn’t have that job, I wouldn’t be able to afford any of these games.

But then again I work three jobs. NO TIME!

I have over 100 games on my PS3. I guess I’m saving up for when I retire at 95. :(

Awesome update by the way. I’m crazy broke and the Metro Discount is VERY tempting. If I buy it, it’s all your fault!

Primero,

Yeah none of these games appeal to me even though a ton of people are clearly interested in Knyt Underground and a 20% discount in Metro:Last Light. It must mean that because I do not enjoy these games, then it would stand to reason that it is a lame update, my God.

(sarcasm)

Looks like a certain tool is sure to bring us with his insightful comments like clockwork this week.

You know what? If he’s really is that dense, I’m glad these updates annoy him.

Morgan and team, I don’t know what your formula for adding games to the mix is, but keep it coming. I’ve been loving most updates and if they also happen to annoy a certain user who repeatedly feels to tell everyone how lame the updates are, then its just gravy at that point. :)

Also, a few suggestions:

1) PSP games are great for the Instant Game Collection, as the Vita is fully compatible with them. I still pay real money for PSP games. I bought Lunar Silver Star Story a few weeks ago, even though I beat it on PS1 years ago.

2) Please make ALL PSOne Classics Vita-compatible. I want to be able to play Silent Hill in the dark in bed, and fall asleep and have nightmares of killer babies stabbing at me with knives. I want another reason to buy Metal Gear Solid again.

3) This is a long-shot, I know, but isn’t the Vita powerful enough to run PS2 games? The PSP could play PSOne Classics. Why shouldn’t the Vita be able to play PS2 Classics? I’m just sayin’…

4) Postpone the PS4 for at least another five years. The PS3 is just fine as it is, and I literally have over a hundred games for it that I still need to beat. I won’t be able to afford a PS4 for another 10 years anyways. I never afforded my PS3; it was a gift. And I didn’t get it until about 2 years ago. Let Microsoft and Nintendo make their mistakes, and then release the PS4 to blow them all out of the water!

YES!… but I believe it would be great if another 3 slots are added to the PSVITA/PSP rotation making it 12 slots instead of 9. At the same time, I think it should be that the PSP games/classics should only replace itself in the rotations.

For example, there are 3 PSP only games in the rotation. Then those 3 should only be replaced by PSP only games so that the VITA games will not suffer.

please give us dark cloud 1 and 2, rogue galaxy, and both drakengards, im aware that square enix plays tough game but i think they are willing to give into drakengard but the tougher ones i want from them are of course final fantasy XII, VII Crisis Core, dirge of cerberus, and obviously Kingdom hearts birth by sleep. I will love you guys for ever if you can make atleast half my list come true :)

Would really love to see a Mass Effect sale, unless i missed it at an earlier date, or a Record of Agarest War sale, kinda sucks that i paid the full price for Rainbow Moon and it went on sale 2 weeks later -.- and personally i say stop adding PSP games to PS+ (yes i voted), PSP is so outdated, i rather see BETTER PS3 games or PSN games.

Being a PS+ member keeps getting better every week. Anyone that doesn’t have it is really missing out. I hope Sony continues with this wonderful service when the PS4 launches later this year

I don’t think PSP games being a part of the IGC is a bad thing exactly (I myself was in support of it before they started doing it regularly). I do think it’s overkill to push them on us every single month though. Remember that the Vita is already getting less than the PS3 every month for plus in it’s rotation, so every game feels that much more important. If/when 1 game is a stinker it feels like a major blow against Vita owners that also have plus, so you gotta make that one game count.

As for any folks bashing on the indie games; Some of the best games this gen have been indie titles. They have a lot of heart and have generally been unique experiences. Just because they don’t meet your graphic hungry expectations doesn’t mean they should be so easily dismissed. Step outside of your bubbles for a few moments and give the games a fair shot and I guarantee you won’t be complaining as much about them. The growing indie scene has been a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale growing industry.

Thanks Morgan!. I thought it was going to be FarCry3 to do it for me, but I haven’t been on the multiplayer to complete the two boards for my last two trophies on it. People are always quitting half way through or something or they put you half way into it and its randomly selected. It’s a drag to get it. hah.

I sgned up for Plus recently, and have been very disappointed. Selection and convenience aren’t great, but the worst thing is I couldn’t set both my PS3s to use the automatic sync feature. Completely negated the reason I signed up for plus, which was so I could go to either one and just use it without worrying about having to download updates or manually copy saved games back and forth. And the copy/cloud doesn’t work with PS2/PS1 memory card images? I just don’t see the point. Well, you got my money, so I guess that was the point?

1) Indie Games are subjective to users’ opinion, meaning not everyone loves indies but also that some people do. The fact that you try to mask your distaste for Indie titles as being a “real gamer”, is in itself distasteful as there are many “real gamers” who are into Indie games. realistically, Sony is doing a great job, and no they can’t please you all the time. I’m not saying they shouldn’t step it up, but neither should they bow out of a program and screw over millions of people because you don’t like an Indie game.

2) PS+ is geared not only towards real gamer “adults” such as yourself, but also towards the younger generations. Please try to keep in mind as a “adult” that children like simple games, and that they play too.

3) The reason you can buy a copy (used or not) cheaper in a store then you sometimes can onilne in PS Store is a little thing called “Convenience”. It’s why you can go to WalMart and pay a buck for a 2L of Pepsi, but the conerstore will charge 3 bucks….it’s all depending how far you’re willing to go literally to save an extra buck. welcome to the 21st century my friend!

Again this is an awesome month for plus. The monthly update so we know what’s coming out in advance is greatly appreciated. Getting the updates out before 10pm est is always awesome and I have been pleasantly happy about recently :p other then that 1 week..
I know requesting games from you guys is pointless but I would like to see something such as GT5, Heavenly Sword, any Killzone or Uncharted games. Even though I have beat those games except the Killzone series they are Sony exclusives and published by Sony if I remember correctly so I believe they would be great additions to the IGC
P.S maybe the hype of Heavenly Sword making it to the plus could warrant getting trophies for the game or maybe a second game which it more the deserves. Just saying

I would rather not see PSP games, and I only have a PSP. No Vita yet.

But if you’re going to offer them, I can’t just be anything. I don’t see why anyone would be excited for Tekken 6 at this point. It’s old, was better on PS3, and wasn’t even a big deal back when it released.

Give us stuff like Resistance Retribution… something that benefits from the Vita control scheme.

Or offer big name stuff, like GTA Chinatown Wars, or Peace Walker. The games are old, but at least they are great. Nobody wants average old games.

I just signed up for the PSN Plus service last week when Sleeping Dogs came out. What a fantastic game, and a great value PSN Plus?

PSN Plus has always been a great value since its inception. I hadn’t signed on until now mainly because I’m an older gamer who likes to own physical copies of games. There weren’t enough HDD space left on my Slim 160 GB hard drive either, but I finally caved in and deleted more games that I wanted to keep on my hard drive off then I wanted to in order to get great games like Sleeping Dogs. I suspect that if Sony wanted to increase the numbers of PSN Plus subscribers before the annual financial meeting, they can easily release more gems like Sleeping Dogs, something along the lines of Dishonored.

I can’t believe you’re finally back to your old tricks again, Primero. Why can’t you let a user just voice his opinion? Are you so frustrated with your own life that you find you must come on here and berate other users? Truly unfathomable that you somehow believe that any opinions are not worth being stated.

I haven’t had much to complain about recently because Plus has taken an awesome step towards pleasing its userbase, from monthly updates, to better quality games to significantly better discounts. So for once, I finally agree with you on quality improving.

However, I still hold that individuals that disagree with me are free to do so. This is because I live in the first world, and not in Soviet Russia in the 1980s. So now I only have one question for you:

Why?

Why do you feel the need to bother others? I’ve seen you respond in a friendly manner to others, so I can finally attest that you’re not a troll. So now I’m completely at a loss as to why you are so frustrated and angry.

Can’t you just let people make their statements without being the resident a-hole? Things were just starting to get nice around here without our bloated comments to eachother, too.

In June Little Big Planet, Infamous 2, and Ratchet and Clank will be a year old in IGC. Hopefully they’ll roll out some new games at E3, GoW and PSABR!!!!

well sleepin dogs was a very good game considering i am not very friendly with that genre in games like GTA but it´s fun to play knytt underground seems very cool so i just wait for download it

Can Someone at Sony please let me know why our PS Plus selection sucks so much compared to Europes? I mean really, in the span of six weeks they will of gotten all of this:
