UPDATE: The flash sale is now complete.

Tomb Raider Flash Sale

Have you picked up Lara Croft’s first adventure yet? If you haven’t taken a tour of Yamatai, now’s the time to book a ticket. Tomb Raider is currently 50 percent off in the PlayStation Store as part of a sale that runs from now until Monday, April 29th at noon. The sale is available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Argentina.

Tomb Raider marks a reboot for the seasoned franchise, exploring Lara Crofts origin story and transformation from an untested young woman to a hardened survivor. Series staples of combat, exploration & traversal, and puzzles return to Tomb Raider, reimagined through an action/adventure experience rooted in survival. New offerings include skill and weapon upgrades, fast travel throughout the island, and online play with friends.

If you’re in the mood to tackle Tomb Raider with friends, keep an eye out for premium DLC such as the “Caves & Cliffs” or “1939” multiplayer map packs too. Weapon packs, multiplayer characters, and alternate outfits for Lara are also up for grabs.

Don’t wait – download the game now!

  • I haven’t tried the multiplayer yet but the single player is AMAZING! Will there be a sequel? Please say yes!

  • LOL, some gamers are the whiniest, poorest people in the world.
gamers: wah! digital games should be cheaper than physical copy
    PSN: game is half off
gamers: wah! digital games should be $15

not sure what you are referring to. MP requires internet but the SP doesn’t.

  • AWESOME deal i’d totally buy it digital if i didn’t own the retail ;D

  • Broke down and bought it, I can’t wait to play this after finals next week!

    BEYOND!

  • Sold! Been wanting to pick this up and I even have the money in my wallet. I’m going to pick it up as soon as the NFL draft is over! Thanks a lot for the sale!

@48, I also upgraded my HDD, to a 1 terabyte. The way I see it, there is no reason not to load it up. Ever since I upgraded, I really like the digital downloads of full games!

  • I don’t think I can justify buying this game, even at the price it’s at now. I prefer single-player games and from what I’ve heard the mulitplayer sucks, so I’d never even touch half of the game. If Square Enix were to offer just the single player mode at a lower price and file size I’d definitely buy it.

  • Can’t wait to play this been wanting to pick this up for a little while now. And could not pass this deal up for $30 great price. Can’t wait to play this downloading it now.

  • Hi,I just bought the game, and I realize that something appears in the XMB called El Barto, I find it weird because microsoft symbol appears, and I can not delete, it appears someone else, is part of the update?

  • @98 “DRM-related text appeared incorrectly in the description of the digital download version of Tomb Raider on the PlayStation 3 in North America,” said a spokesperson for the company. “It suggested that users were required to log-in to the PlayStation Network before each game session.”
    (Skipped a couple of lines)
“To relieve any confusion, the portion of that text has been removed. A user is not required to be logged into the PlayStation Network to play Tomb Raider (except to play multi-player). We’re sorry for any confusion that was caused.”

  • WHAT A DEAL.

  • great single player gameplay, multi player could have easily not been there. but good game all together for the price

  • I think it’s a great deal overall. I was wondering if does PSN Store plans to put more JRPG and RPG games (classics and retail) on weekly deal or some sort of discount?

  • The amount of whining people still do over these sales is amazing. I honestly prefer having digital copies of everything myself as not having to swap discs is a nice convenience not to mention you’re not paying taxes on this stuff. Given what the bundle includes I think I’ll finally jump on this as a lot of friends have been telling me good things about it, though I guess we’ll see how much of the MP I actually end up playing.

  • Calling this pile of trash ‘Tomb Raider’ is highly offensive. This game has nothing to do with why Tomb Raider was popular to begin with. Tomb Raider was never about the pewpew, as this game is.

This game is more like Tomboy Raider with Lauren Craft. Casual modern gamers hype the crap out of modern mediocre highly overrated sucky trash. Oh and QTEs – lol! You could not pay me to play a game with QTEs in it.

  • Save your amateur game reviews for your playground friends. This game is, bottom line, up to the consumer. I find it work my money. 2 games + multiple DLC bonuses for 29.99? Sold.

Everyone quoting the retail price or used price need to pipe down. They may have been able to shave a few bucks off here & there to compete with retail but they don’t have to. There are bigger offenders out there, like fallout new vegas having 4 DLC addons at 9.99 each when you can buy the ultimate edition for 29.99 that comes with the full game and all of those + the misc 1.99 DLC for weapons and such.

You’d have to pay almost double what the game is worth to get all of that lol

Anyways, I bought this. Good back :) I don’t think i would have given Quantum Conundrum a second glance under normal circumstances.

  • I will buy the game, but I also want the physical disc. I’ll wait till the game cost 30$ with the box, then I’ll buy it.

  • I only have 17gb left on my PlayStation 3, but sounds too good.
    Decisions, decisions!

  • I bought mine already.

Sony ,please dont put Bioshock Infinite for a Flash Sale too soon, my wallet will not support it and my free time will make me live a week in just 7 hours.

  • @ True_Gamer
if there was a Bioshock Infinite flash sale I would buy it in less than a minute.

  • @53

    I totally agree with you.

But, what’s holding a lot of people back is Sony (and this is their worst decision is a long line of bad decisions) refuses to carry our purchases over to the PS4.

Meaning the 10,000 or so dollars most people have spent over the last 6 years if worth absolutely nothing. And I’m sure they will just try and charge us AGAIN for the same games we already own.

Sony, you have no idea how much business you WILL lose if you do this. If the PS4 will no carry over all of our account info, trophies, AND PURCHASES.. Then you can count me out of your next gen. I will re-evaluate my future console options.

  • Just got this, great deal!

Glad it was still up. :)

  • @120: I’m absolutely certain your account will carry over, just look at how they handled PS3 and PS Vita. My account I created a few years ago on PS3 is the same I use on the PS Vita.

Trophies, purchases, account info, I can see everything on the PS Vita just fine, so there’s no reason they wouldn’t let us see it on the PS4.

As for purchases, the PS3 games can be seen on the PS Vita download list, but they cannot be downloaded via PS Vita because it’s not a compatible platform. I guess the same will happen with PS4 – we will see our PS3 games download list except we won’t be able to download them and play them on PS4 because it won’t be backwards compatible but technically we still ‘own’ those games for as long as we have the account.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I know it’s a matter of opinion, but backwards compatibility is seriously overrated. Soon we’ll be all over PS4 games and most PS3 games will be a thing of the past. PS3 consoles will be dirt cheap by the time PS4 matures, anyway. If you love PS3 games so much (as I do!!), keep both PS3 and PS4.

  • OMG!!! I just came back from work and was ready to buy the game and… its back to its original price!!! :S come one, you could have waited until Tuesday´s update :_(!!!!

  • Anyone here alread bought this game?!

I have 1 question : When im complete 20% of all game, there is NO trophy comes up. what im i suppose to do?!
