This whole situation was handled so poorly. This is not the way to show Sony is ready for the next generation. Communication is horrible, shouldnt have to dig to find out whats going on. Dont reply to a comment in the soul sacrifice demo, just make a brand new blog post for heavens sake… Communication was bad, and now gaming news sites are making articles about this event. Not the attention you want the year of PS4.
Oh and I dont know if this was ever fixed, XCOM is not a day 1 digital. Came out on PSN a week or two ago but its been out on disc for months.

Wow, I never thought I would see such a big deal over a delay in a video game store update. Store didnt update last night, guess what I did, I played a game over PSN with friends. I just dont see why this is such a huge ordeal for some. You shouldnt be entitled to anything free for this. Problems happen, PSN itself worked fine, you could play games all night long without issue, yet the store updating means the end of the world. Time to rethink your biggest concerns in life if these are them. Just wow….

As an old person, I understand gag orders, and being told by people who can fire you to not not discuss certain topics, that’s why I ONLY asked him to pass the info up the chain, perhaps the decision makers above his pay grade can finally understand they lose money by staying mum on Day 1/pre-order bonuses.
I’m sure the current reason is contractual, Best Buy & Gamestop have paid to have exclusivity on bonuses, why does the PSN not also have it’s own bonuses? hopefully, as we move to the PS4, and retail purchasing dies away, replaced by an all-digital mode, these issues are resolved organically. All I can say is that, for me and me only, I do not speak for others, i never buy day 1 from Sony. I just bought Tomb Raider from BB, I wanted the weapons and alternate outfit. Perhaps if PSN offered the same, or comparable, items, they would have got my money.

@152 I didnt even want to buy anything from the store, but im aggravated because Sony constantly handles these situations horribly. It is embarrassing and if they want to offer a full fledged digital service, these issues has to be fixed. The other thing is Sony’s lack of communication.
The best way to sum up everything is to read Colin’s article on IGN that went up earlier today. It is basically the summary of every major thing wrong with the store. Sure the Playstation Store works… somewhat and sometimes but it could be so much better.

Sony were receiving authentication errors on the store as per their Twitter post.
Doesn”t take long to logon to Twitter to check the status.
Everyone remembers and still mentions the huge outage Sony had a couple of
years ago.
The new store may be slow, but…if it’s more secure and issues these
error messages making Sony stop and investigate, I’m all for it.

Agreed with most comments here. While I’m not angry or anything, it does seem a bit unfortunate that for over six years the store has not been able to have a consistent and set time that it updates. The new store was an unfortunate blunder I could accept, but you guys really need to get with the “times” for lack of a better word, and do something about the inconsistency with the store updates.
This situation could have been handled a lot better and hope if something like this happens again, there is better communication on your part.

Can someone explain to me why the PS+ on PS Vita sucks so bad. All we seem to be getting are crappy old psp games from about 5 years ago. I know this probably won’t be answered because sony only responds to the comments that praise them (for the most part). These PS+ games are horrible on the Vita. Maybe if I had a need for a PS3 this would be better, but as for a Vita owner, I’m pretty disappointed.

@168, cadeolabra, the rebates were sent in a PSN message so you should be able to see that on the Vita. BUT, I believe you can only get a PSN MSG once, on the first system you start up. So, if you have Plus set to auto update, your PS3 will start up and that console will have the PSN MSG. I have several PS3s, so I know that much.
I dunno why some are not getting their vouchers yet (except the one who used 2 1-year vouchers, not from your wallet=no credit). I got mine on time.
Don’t know what I’ll buy yet. Was going to get Ni no, but then Amazon had it on sale for $40. Didn’t buy it though so still an option on PSN, hoping for a sale…..hint, hint.
Don’t get all the aggravation about the update, I don’t think its a big issue. Not brown-nosing on Sony, really, I think they are brown-nosing on me, “Here, have free games, have discounts, please remain a loyal fan!!”
They could improve, and I hope they do, but so many more important things than VG distribution can, too. The 12 hours trying to renew my passport 2 years ago STILL makes me want to go down there and go nuts!
So Sony, keep doing what you do….just try to do it better next time.

Xenosaga, what’s the error msg? The store is probably swamped now. Try adding it via the XMB acct mgmt or on your PC using the SEN site. I do the latter and it’s easy and goof proof, almost.
