I hope you’re ready for Soul Sacrifice — the demo will be available this afternoon on PSN!
Your first reaction to the demo might be, “Holy moly, this is a LOT of demo!” …And you’d be right! The entire first chapter of the full game is included, all of which is playable with up to three other friends via online or ad-hoc multiplayer. Inafune-san made it a special point for the demo to be quite substantial, as you can read in his comments below:
Soul Sacrifice is a long adventure, with dozens of hours of gameplay. The demo is not only a great way to sample the full experience, but also to let you get a head start on that adventure before the game releases. To that end — this part is important, pay attention! — the save data will carry over to the full game! Not only that, if you do carry over demo save data to the full game, you will receive an exclusive bonus item: “Spirits’ Heart”! It summons a powerful stone golem that will fight for you!
Trying the demo and carrying over your save data is the ONLY way to get “Spirits’ Heart,” so why not give it a shot if you’re already interested in the game?
The Soul Sacrifice demo offers a single player mode AND a multi-player mode. Multi-player can be played via both ad-hoc and online, but please be aware that multi-player and all online features for the demo will be terminated and will no longer be available on April 30th, 2013. After this date, you will still be able to play the demo offline and ad-hoc. Of course, that’s not a problem, since you’ll all be picking up the full game when it launches on April 30th, right? *wink*

this is ridiculous. The PSN has been a mainstay in Sony’s arsenal for years upon years now, and the joke of a team behind it still can’t adequately run the damned thing. Not only is it beyond a reasonable update time, it’s now displaying a “Currently Undergoing Maintenance” notification whenever I attempt to access the store on my Vita.
There’s no two ways about it; the team is incompetent. Microsoft never has trouble updating their store in the middle of the morning, and Nintendo– a company who is about as backwards as can be with online management– still is able to update their weekly content at a precise point in time each and every week.
Everyone working so “diligently” behind the scenes of the PSN store, make no mistake: you’re an embarrassment to your company, a joke in the industry, and a disappointment to fans. It makes me sick to think of all the money I’ve spent on PSN, some of which inadvertently shows support for your ineptitude.
Nope. We’ll be so busy trying for 1000 comment get that we wont even notice the demo go live.
845 @ asherlock i played the japanese version a few months back and i really enjoyed it. i think that it will meet peoples expectations.
I suppose I’ll be up at the crack of midnight once more, waiting to download some content to have ready for the day tomorrow. Yes, I know my whining doesn’t mean much when I’m relatively addicted to the store’s weekly updates, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have the ability to recognize the worthlessness behind the team here.
A lack of any kind of notice for your millions of fans awaiting the update really shows the respect you have for all of us consumers, too. What better way to reward your devoted consumers than to continually screw them over with no regard towards their happiness as customers?
If it weren’t for the developers of all these wonderful games on the PSN who need the support, I’d love to watch the entirety of the PSN wither and die– including all of the jobs of the neanderthals manning the keyboards over there, or at least the ones who are inconsiderate enough to delay the updates week after week and disregard the issue in the midst of leagues of waiting customers. A simple blog update, a small Twitter notification, anything would at least placate us, even if it doesn’t make up for the total idiocy.
Freaking can’t wait for the demo! But it hasn’t shown up on psn yet!

I remember before the new PSN store launched, we used to get consistent early updates in the morning, like every single week! As soon as we got the new PSN store, that’s only happened like twice. Late afternoon updates are normal. Serious SCREW THE NEW PSN STORE!
