I hope you’re ready for Soul Sacrifice — the demo will be available this afternoon on PSN!
Your first reaction to the demo might be, “Holy moly, this is a LOT of demo!” …And you’d be right! The entire first chapter of the full game is included, all of which is playable with up to three other friends via online or ad-hoc multiplayer. Inafune-san made it a special point for the demo to be quite substantial, as you can read in his comments below:
Soul Sacrifice is a long adventure, with dozens of hours of gameplay. The demo is not only a great way to sample the full experience, but also to let you get a head start on that adventure before the game releases. To that end — this part is important, pay attention! — the save data will carry over to the full game! Not only that, if you do carry over demo save data to the full game, you will receive an exclusive bonus item: “Spirits’ Heart”! It summons a powerful stone golem that will fight for you!
Trying the demo and carrying over your save data is the ONLY way to get “Spirits’ Heart,” so why not give it a shot if you’re already interested in the game?
The Soul Sacrifice demo offers a single player mode AND a multi-player mode. Multi-player can be played via both ad-hoc and online, but please be aware that multi-player and all online features for the demo will be terminated and will no longer be available on April 30th, 2013. After this date, you will still be able to play the demo offline and ad-hoc. Of course, that’s not a problem, since you’ll all be picking up the full game when it launches on April 30th, right? *wink*

Every new generation of systemsI choose the system I like the best for one reason or another, as all of us do. Last generation I played xbox more than my ps2 because of the hard drive and being able to use music in my games. But I didn’t forget that microsoft required me to pay 20 to 30 dollars extra for a remote just so I could watch a dvd. Microsoft has done what apple has done For years, making everyone pay for features that are free from others. Quick comparison.

did the EU store update? this morning someone linked the SS demo on twitter and people in EU were able to download it. why didnt we get this in NA?
Microsoft: pay for optical cable out to play surround sound, pay extra for an hd cable port,pay for online gaming and watching netflixs. Hard drives that you have to buy from microsoft. Microsoft treats indie developers bad and demands stuff. Microsoft has only like 6 first person games that are popular (halo, fable, project gotham racing). Sony: optical outlet included. Wifi included, blu ray included, hdmi included, online gaming (free) included. Can upgrade your hard drive to any size you want, and sony will even walk you trough it and you don’t have to pay sony to have only their hard drives. They have like over 30 great first party games (God of war, uncharted, heavy rain, twisted metal, mlb the show, GT 5, ridge racer, the last of us, fat princess, and many more). Don’t forget that the reason why we are sony playstation fans is because it really is the best overall gaming experience.

I just wanted and estimated time of arrival for the update. Been waiting for it since yesterday. I keep checking to see if it’s up or if Sony announce that it’ll be up by tomorrow or something and nothing happens…

@6019 : no they did not. The price of the DVD decoding licence was included in the PS2. For the Xbox it was not.

Don’t forget that the reason why we are sony playstation fans is because it really is the best overall gaming experience. I’ve had my playstation since the second one the fat one (80 gigs not backwards compatible), and the only problem I had with it is after over two years it deleted my hard drive, and never had any problems before or since, and it is onevery day almost for like 12 hours plus (movies and gaming). My 360, got the red rings after about a year and a half, fixed it then after 6 months it got it again. My friend got red rings on his too, and another friend replaced his twice once for the elite one and it was a Wifi issue. The reason why xbox is selling so many is because the product breaks so many times and suckersoutthere are giving away their money to microsoftby buying a new one. If you want to demand something why not demand it of ourselves, the “gamer”? Maybe we ought to be thankful for what sony has done right for its loyal fans. Thanks sony, I’m inconvenienced by this wait because I really want to play soul sacrifice,but I will resort to immature threats. I will not jump ship, I will sell my stuff, because right now you have the best quality gaming experience for me around.
